Remember me?  I know, I know, it's been too long since I have last visited it with you. But it's a new year and I'm going to make it a goal to blog more often. I miss sharing with you. I hope you will keep coming back for more inspiration. Don't forget I always welcome your comments on each post. 

It's time for a Stampers Dozen blog hop tonight. The theme is All About the New. We have a new mini catalog with great new stamps, papers, and accessories. Plus, we have the Sale-a-bration catalog. For the sake of easing back into blogging, I choose to make a quick and super easy card. I actually didn't pick up a stamp to make this birthday card. The ephemera packs are like my new best friend. They are always there for me when I need them. (LOL)  This card uses the Birthday Treats Mix & Match Ephemera Pack. 

I also used the Timeless Plaid 6x6 designer series paper for the background design and color. I love a good patterned paper (polka dots, stripes, plaids, I'm not picky).  There is a strip of gold open weave ribbon on the left of the card to add some texture. I also used some antique pearls to finish the card. And no, not antique because I had a birthday this week either. HAHA

Although I didn't stamp anything I love how this card came together and I know I would love to receive it so why wouldn't anyone else?

Christmas in July Blog Hop

Hello stamping friends,

I know it's been a super busy day here, but I hope you are loving all of the inspiration waiting for you. This is a blog hop with the Stampers' Dozen group. Theme this month is Christmas in July, of course. 

I choose to keep it simple with my card. If you are anything like me, you have the best intentions to make some grand Christmas cards and send them out, but you run out of time, don't make your cards, or worse, make them without sending them. Well, this card will take some pressure off of you and leave you feeling accomplished. Plus, it's still a pretty card that your friends and family will love to receive.

I used the Merriest Trees stamp set to create this simple, yet elegant card. The two-step stamping gives depth to the tree very easily. Three quick stamps and your card is stamped. Four pieces of cardstock and some dimensionals give your a complete card that is super quick and easy to make. This allows you time to still make all of your Christmas cards while leaving you plenty of time to do all of the other great holiday activities and events that you have on your list. 

I used shaded spruce and shy shamrock ink for this card. The cardstock is thick whisper white, regular whisper white, and shaded spruce. Minimal supplies makes this even better.

Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop

Welcome to a scrapbook blog hop with Crafty Collaborations. I haven't made a scrapbook page in quite some time, so this was fun and exciting for me while being a tad stressful all at the same time. 

I made a two page spread so I could fit more pictures, but actually, this isn't even enough. 

This is for the newest addition to our family, my first granddaughter. After having boys in the family for so long, it's fun to buy pink, polka dots, ruffle butts, and bows. And now I can make girly scrapbook pages, too. Woohoo!

They are both 12x12 pages and each one will hold four pictures. 

There isn't a ton of extra stuff to busy the page so the pictures won't be overpowered by all the extra. The pictures will be the focal point.

Halloween Blog Hop - Crafty Colaborations

Halloween is certainly upon us and will be here rather quickly. Today we are hopping through some great Halloween creations and you surely won't want to miss out on these ideas.

I did some thinking outside the box since I really don't have any current Halloween sets. I used the Year to Celebrate stamp set and Halloween colors to make my card.

Party horns can be used for any type of party, right?  Gorgeous grape, pumpkin pie, and lemon lime twist are great Halloween colors and the stripes and polka dots just add to the festive atmosphere. I just hope these horns don't make noise. LOL

What really makes this card is the layers. By now, you know I love adding layers to my cards. I believe the extra layers just bring the card together and gives a nice, completed

look to your end result.

Fun Folds with the Sisters in Stamping

Today over at Sisters in Stamping for Sunday Fun Day we are sharing fun fold cards. Homemade cards are great by themselves, but add a fun fold to the card and it takes it to a whole new level of greatness and appreciation by the receiver. 

Sunday Fun Day and Fun folds only leaves us one option: FUN!

Upon first glance, this card just looks like any ordinary card. It's still nice, but you don't think fun fold, that's for sure!

Here you can see that it is more fun than first impressions gave. Not quite the traditional card after all. 

Just a different angle so you can see it from the front and how it stands "open."

Laying flat with the left side open and the right side closed.

Completely open. To make this card, you start with an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock and score it at 5 1/2" along the 11" side. Then cut the cardstock into 2 (4 1/4" x 11") pieces. I then cut on a diagonal from the top to bottom on one half of each (4 1/4" x 11") piece. Attach the two rectangular parts together to form one card base making sure one triangle is on the bottom on the left side and the other triangle is on the top on the right side. You'll get a pocket type card if you don't alternate them.

Decorate however you would like. I cut the layers like I was adding normal card layers for a rectangle card and then cut those in half on the diagonal. Tip: Just pay attention to how you are cutting the diagonal if you are set on which side of the designer paper you want to use. You may cut it the wrong way. Don't ask me how I know. (Wink, wink)

A Fractured Card is Better Than a Fractured Bone

Here today with a Sunday Funday Challenge with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are making fractured cards. What is that? Well, a fractured card is better than a fractured bone for sure. 

It's a card that looks all broken up and put back together again like Humpty Dumpty. (LOL)  However, this card is way easier to make than I though it was going to be. Isn't that always a good thing. A card that looks hard to make, but in reality it is super easy.

Looks like a lot of pieces, don't you think? Well it's not. It's a base, a layer of DSP, the white square and four strips of cardstock. No major cutting. No weird angles. Pretty straightforward.  (Oh, there's some scrap white cardstock too for the skates)

I cut my white square to 2 1/4", stamped on it in the diamond shape. Placed that on top of the polka dot designer series paper and then took one 1/4" x 5" strip of cardstock and placed it at the top edge of diamond and let it hang off the paper. Then took another 1/4" strip and butted it up against the previous strip at the bottom of the diamond and let that hang off the paper. The third strip was the same thing starting along the bottom right side of the diamond. And the fourth strip was finished the same way.  Once all four of the strips were on, I cut off the excess following the edge of the paper. 

I stamped the skates on scrap paper, colored them with Stampin' Blends and finished them off with some wink of stella pen. I love the sparkle on them. For the disco ball, I wanted colored sections, so I squeezed my ink pads together to get some ink on the lid and then picked up the color with the wink of stella brush tip and "painted" each section. I love, love, love how sparkly it turned out. 

Definitely takes me back to the younger years of roller skating on Friday nights. What great fun and memories.

Crafty Dreams Blog Hop - Autumn Vibes

This morning we are hopping with Crafty Collaborations and we are getting the autumn vibes in high gear. 

I made a card using the All About Autumn 6x6 Specialty Designer Series Paper. The paper is doing most of the work for me. I didn't have to stamp a background or do too much. Honestly the only stamping is the greeting from the All About Autumn stamp set. I used the backside of the paper for the "banner ribbon." It is gorgeous. The paper has copper foil on one side of every sheet. It is beautiful and hard to decide which side you want to use. So instead of deciding, I used both. 

I also cut some leaves from the Autumn Leaves Dies both from the paper and cardstock. The cardstock leaves I used blending brushes and coordinating ink from stamp pads to make them look a little more realistic. 

In the die set there are a few dies that just cut into the paper (doesn't cut anything out to use elsewhere). I used the long strip of dots to add a little texture to the designer paper just under the banner. 

The greeting was stamped on vellum and I attached the vellum using glue dots strategically placed under the leaves.

I think my favorite stamp in the whole set is the scattered dots to use to fill-in any empty space. I know, it's a weird one to be my favorite, but I love having that option when there's too much "white space."  You can see I used it on the die cut piece of So saffron cardstock. Without it, that piece looked so blah!

Crafty Collaborations - Jan-April Mini Catalog Blog Hop

Back again for another great blog hop. I have missed participating in the Crafty Collaborations hops and my goal for the year to to get back and participate in as many as possible in 2023.

Fun in the Sun Blog Hop

It's been a bit since I joined in the fun on a Crafty Collaborations blog hop, but I'm back for this great hop. A Fun in the Sun hop sounds fantastic right about now. What kind of fun do you have in the sun? Are you a winter sun or a summer sun person? There's activities for every season in the sun.

There are so many things that say fun in the sun for me, but I think the one thing that loves the sun most is flowers. They open and lean their petals towards the sun. Without the sun, we wouldn't have very many pretty, colorful flowers to enjoy, so I decided on a card that is bursting with flowers for today.

I used the Hues of Happiness designer series paper for most of my card. Those bright and colorful flowers are cut from designer paper and they make a beautiful card. All I stamped were the green outline of leaves along the left side and the bottom to fill in and the greeting. The rest was cut (many using the coordinating dies to cut them out) from the designer paper. Isn't it a beautiful card?

July-December 2022 Mini Catalog Blog Hop

Here today for a great blog hop sharing ideas from the awesome July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. You won't want to miss any of the link that you will find below because there's so much inspiration.

I love old typewriters. (Now that I don't need to use them and worry about making a mistake) I just had to get this new set when I saw the typewriter.  I even made my typewrite blue like the one I had as a kid. 

I also used some new black and white designer paper to really make my image pop and be the focal point of my card. I love the contrast of the black and white triangles on the card. It's really easy to achieve. Just cut your layer down to the next size (in this case, it was 3 3/4" x 5") and then cut on an angle from one corner to the opposite diagonal corner. So you will end up with pieces to make two cards after cutting two different designs.

There was some fussy cutting since I wanted the typewriter blue and the paper white, but it wasn't too bad and was all worth it in the end. I actually made 14 cards so it really wasn't awful at all.
