Some Belated Birthday Love

Hello Stamping Friends,

I'm back to share a few more things that I didn't make but received for my birthday. Yes, that was back in January too, but, better late than never right?  I thought you'd see it my way. By belated, I mean, I was late sharing it with you. They were given and sent to me for my birthday. I am so humbled when I receive a card in the mail or a special little gift letting me know someone was thinking of me. So, this year, I have made it a goal to send out more cards than ever before. So far, so good. I've sent out almost 60 cards this year. That's impressive for me. I know it's kind of weird to hear that I don't send out very many cards since that is what I do, but don't worry, that's changing! I know if it means that much to me, than it's going to be special to everyone that I send them to as well.

This card was sent to me by one of my stamping friends and club members, Cindy O. I was so surprised and excited when I opened the mailbox and saw the envelope. I knew it was a card and definitely not a bill. Bills don't come in those nice Stampin' Up! whisper white envelopes. I loved the card. Nice, simple, colorful and used the big shot for some texture. Thank you Cindy for thinking of me on a birthday that was a little difficult this year. It meant the world to me.

And here is a little gift I received from one of my team members, Maria P., for my birthday. She also knew this year was going to be a difficult one for me and wanted to let me know she was thinking of me.  She wrapped a large Hershey bar in nice cheerful colors and made a cute little tag to coordinate for the wrapped shower gel and lotion.

A close-up of the tag because you really can't see all the detail in the first picture. Maria, thank you for thinking of me and making this birthday an extra special one.

As always, thanks for stopping by. I'll see you soon.

Building Block Birthday

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Fabulous Friday to you. Hope you have a perfect weekend planned for yourself and your family. Here in the Yurkanin household there's a Stampin' Up! workshop in line for tonight for me and well the boys, I don't know what they have planned yet. And then tomorrow afternoon another party for me and a soccer game at night for Jonah and then an all day volleyball tournament is in store for Noah on Sunday.  So it's a busy one here, but it will be a fun one.

This week at Sisters in Stamping we were challenged to create something with punches.  I have wanted to make a card similar to this for awhile so I thought this would be the perfect time to actually sit down and make it.

A lego card. Wouldn't that make the cutest invitation for a party as well? I could see doing a whole theme party complete with inviations, favors and decorations. Too bad, Jonah probably is too old and wouldn't go for it.

Here's a side angle view  so you can see the definition of the blocks a little easier.  A very easy punch card. Probably one of the easiest ones I've ever made. I usually pick ones that are more time consuming and tedious for my classes but I love this. I will be making more. It's the perfect card to attach to any little boys birthday gift.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more punch ideas.

Some Love From the Team

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Thursday to you. The sun is shining here (finally!) in Northeast Pennsylvania (or NEPA as we say here) and it is a welcome change from all the snow we've been accumulating. Hopefully it will shine long enough to melt some of it. I know it will take a good while to melt all of it so I won't even pretend. I'll be so excited when I can see my driveway again. Yes, it's the little things that make me happy.

I'm home with a sick little boy today. I could have been in 5 different classrooms if he wasn't home. Yes, there were that many jobs open between last night and this morning. I even got a personal call this morning from the secretary at the one school I sub in all the time. Guess there's a shortage of substitutes in the district. Funny, because just a few years ago, I would have to spend hours on the computer trying to catch a job. Last night my phone was ringing every half hour with a job waiting for me.

Anyway, on to some stamping projects. I have a few projects to share with you from one of my recent downline team meetings. I know I haven't shared projects from my team in awhile so I decided today is the day. These were projects swapped at the January get together. Yes, a bit delayed, but you know what that means? You have more to look forward to from the February team get together.

This adorable little treat was made by Maria P. I love the added sparkle.

This little treat holder was made by Lucia B. Love the rose on the front and the chocolates covered with Designer Series Paper.

Just a front view of the same treat.

This card was made by Patti H. I love how she used the framelits to give a decorative edge to the front of the card.

This card was made by Dianne S.  I like how she used the tag punch to create a focal point for her stamped heart.

And this card was made by Nicole L. She loves Valentine's Day so it's no wonder she loved making this card. I like how she used both stamped hearts and punched hearts for her main focus.

We have a great time at our team get-togethers. We stamp, share ideas and tips (and some personal life stuff, too). We are one happy family when we get together. If you would like to come to a gathering to see what I'm talking about, let me know and I'll give you the next date and time. Join the Yurinkin' Stamp Addicts team for only $99 (you get to select $150 in product though).

Thanks for stopping by!

I love banners because they easily change the look of an entire room. Just hang it up and you're good to go. I used the now retired canvas banner pieces to make this kit. I actually do a banner class each and every month using these pieces so you can have a collection for every holiday or occasion.

Just a close up of the heart on the banner. Each of the small red hearts were embossed with a different folder. Great way to add some texture and variation to your banner pieces.  Yes, I punched each one of those little circles around the large scallop heart. It may have been tedious but the end result looks great.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Valentine's Day to you. I'm so glad you decided to "drop" by today as I share my love for stamping with you. I also want to say that I love each and everyone of you for all that you do in supporting my stamping business.

For this week's Sister in Stamping we decided to make special Valentine's and share them with you. They couldn't just be the typical 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card, so I got busy with some heart framelits and came up with this special valentine. What do you think?

I used the 4 largest hearts in the heart framelits pack. The whisper white one (the largest and only scalloped one) I punched each of those hoels with the 1/16" in punch. That heart is scalloped but it doesn't have the cute lacy look without you punching holes. I also embossed it with the polka do folder. The black heart (second largest heart) is folded in half and cut just inside the top so that it flips open (see picture below). The red heart (the third largest heart) is then embossed with the chevron folder. The silver glimmer heart is the fourth largest heart. I used the deco labels framelits to cut the saying out and then cut the rounded top and bottom off.

Here's the inside of my valentine. I used the fourth largest heart framelit to cut out the white cardstock so I could stamp Happy Valentine's Day and write a special message inside.  Hope you "love" my valentine and have a very special day.

Don't forget to tell everyone you that you love them today.

Want to see some other great valentine's, head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog.

My Digital Studio to the Rescue

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Weekend to you.  We have a super crazy busy weekend in store for us here at the Yurkanin household. It's filled with stamping, soccer, volleyball, hockey, and parties. How's that sound for fun filled? I'm tired just typing all about what's going to happen.

Anyway, this week with the Sisters in Stamping we are sharing scrapbook pages with you. I decided to make a digital page using My Digital Studio. When you are short on time and can't pull out all your fun stamping/scrapping supplies, it's definitely My Digital Studio to the rescue. It's quick, easy, and mess free. All you need is your computer. Plus it's great if you haven't printed all your pictures. Yes, I'm way, way behind on printing pictures thanks to all the digital storage on my computer. It is a goal of mine to get those all printed this coming year so I can do more traditional scrapbooking.

Here's a quick page announcing the up and coming, young soccer star. Yes, that's my boy! He's so darn cute but very serious when he's playing. I like this layout because it looks like it's on a newspaper page, like an announcement of a great new player that was just found. Big news! Plus it was a layout that was already started and I deleted some things and added some other things to make it my own.

My sister-in-law is a professional photographer and her son played on Jonah's team, so we got some awesome shots of Jonah on the field. (Huge shout out to Danielle, thanks!) Score for us parents.

If you haven't checked out My Digital Studio yet, go download the free trial to give it a try for yourself. Download it on your laptop and you can scrapbook on the go, anytime, anywhere. All your "supplies" are at your fingertips.

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping for more scrapbooking ideas.  Thanks for stopping by. See you again soon.

You Mean the World

Hello Stamping Friends,

How are you all doing on this fine Monday? I love how this card turned out. What better background for a globe image than the world map? I used the Retro fresh paper to pick my colors. I love how using the designer series papers makes creating so simplified, especially when you are struggling coming up with colors that look good together when you are in a creative block mode. Have you ever been there? I think most crafters find themselves in a block at one time or another. I know I have.

I like that this card doesn't use the traditional Valentine's colors so it could be used at any time of year, not just in February for Valentine's Day. Plus, it makes a great masculine card. We, women, may love all that pink and red but the guys probably don't agree.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: Love you More, World Map
Ink: Soft Suede
Paper: So Saffron, Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White Cardstock & Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Snail Adhesive, & Scalloped Tag Topper Punch
