Carried Away Set of Cards Video

Hello Stamping Friends,

I'm here today to share another video with you for a one of my favorite stamp sets  from the Occasions Catalog, Lift Me Up! I know I shared with you before that I want to ride in a hot air balloon so I'm sure that's one of the reasons I'm loving this set so much. Twelve cards using this great set and coordinating paper.

The video pairs up the Lift Me Up stamp set with the Carried Away Designer Series Paper that you can get for FREE as one of your Sale-a-bration choice with any qualifying $50 order. We still have time for Sale-a-bration, and I still have a few dates open in March if you are interested in earning some of these items for FREE and also getting an extra $25 in hostess credit. Let me know soon!

Enjoy the video.

Warm Weather = Birds

Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope you have been enjoying these past few days for way above normal temperatures for February. I know I have been loving them. Almost all the crazy snow we got while we were away on vacation (BTW, that's  rude awakening to come home to after being in sunny Arizona) is just about melted. That is a great sight. I know we will probably get one more storm before it's all said and done but it's so much easier to deal with (mentally, that is) when there is not a huge accumulation already waiting to melt.

This week at Sisters in stamping the theme goes right along with the warmer temperatures (and it was planned weeks ago, so we had no way of knowing). It's all about the birds this week.

I used the Pop of Paradise flamingo for my card. Flamingo's = warm weather so I'm sticking with it. What better color to use for the card but Flirty Flamingo too. Just can't help it.  There's so much I love about this card, the pink, black and white color combo and the polka dots on the background that are embossed are of course my top two reasons. I know, I know, you know me too well and could have said that without me sharing it.

The background behind the flamingo is just a watercolor wash using some flirty flamingo ink and an aqua painter. Easy peasy!  It really is an easy card to duplicate and it will be loved by anyone.

Be sure to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more great bird ideas. Thanks for stopping by.

Awesome Watercolor Pencils

Hello Stamping Friends,

Dropping by today to share with you a great video about the awesome watercolor pencils that are in the Occasions Catalog. Did you get yours yet? If not, after this video you are certain to want to get a set for yourself.

They color so nice. They are soft and smooth to color with which is a big plus for this chic who hates scratchy pencils.

This video will show you several different ways to use the watercolor pencils so you will have lots of options once you start coloring yourself.

Is It Spring Yet?

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's Friday. Woohoo, I made it through the week (even if I only worked 2 days because of vacation). Let me tell you, it was not easy getting back into the routine of things after being away for 8 days. We had a great vacation, guess that's why it's that much more difficult to swing back, especially when you come from a warmer climate back home to almost a foot of snow. Yuck! Not the reality check I needed. So my question is, Is it Spring yet? I'm ready!

Since we don't really have any Spring weather (looking out my window says something way different) we are sharing some cards with flowers to brighten anyone's day over at Sisters in Stamping.

This card was fun to make and used many of the stamps in the Gift from the Garden stamp set. No time soon that I'll be using any of those things to garden with, well, perhaps the boots to keep my feet dry while shoveling. (HAHA)

This was a relatively easy card to make. Straight stamping on white cardstock. The fun part of this card is the color blocking with the squares and rectangles of colored cardstock.

Enjoy your day and of course the rest of the weekend. Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more Spring Flowers inspiration.

Color Challenge with Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop

Hello Stamping Friends,

I can hardly believe another month has passed and it's time for the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop again. This blog hop makes me realize just how fast time goes by and I'm not sure how I feel about that if you know what I mean.

Anyway, it is here and this month we are doing a color challenge, night of navy, watermelon wonder and mint macaron. I guess I cheated a little bit because I used the Sale-a-bration designer series paper, Carried Away for my starting point since it has those three colors in it.

I used markers on the hot air balloon to color it the three different colors. Who wants a hot air balloon that's all one color? The more colorful the better or so I think in this case. That's not always the case, though so don't say I said it for everything.

I started with a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock scored at 5 1/2". Then I cut 1 1/4" off the top front flap of the card so you can see the inside a little bit. I then used a 2" circle punch to punch a half circle out of the front flap, which is where the hot air balloon is.

On the inside whisper white cardstock, I stamped the two different size clouds in night of navy. You need some clouds to float a hot air balloon.

The outside strip of designer series paper is 5 1/2" x 1 1/4" and then the layering piece of watermelon wonder is 5 1/2" x 1 1/2". Then I just knotted a piece of watermelon wonder striped ribbon around that before attaching it to the base of the card.

The greeting was heat embossed (yep, that's something I don't do too often) in white to make it really pop.

Don't forget to hop on over to the next blog to see more inspiration for this color challenge.  For complete list of supplies, scroll down.
