It's Beginning to look like Christmas

I'm on a roll. I am really trying to connect with each of you more often here on the blog and so far this week I'm off to a great start. I'm letting it become a habit, you know, something I do everyday. It's so easy to fall away when you miss a regular schedule day but now that I'm back on track, I really want to stay here with you.

Today I have a Christmas card to share with you. The Seasonal Chums is a great set that has a front and back to the stamp that makes great tags or fun cards. For this I card I made a window so you can use both sides of the snowman. It's always fun to bring the outside of the card inside.

I also stamped the tree and greeting just inside the window (on the inside of the card) so you can see them when the card is closed. After cutting the window out with the square framelits, I embossed the emerald envy cardstock with the holly berry folder. Before placing the emerald envy cardstock on the card base, I attached the window sheet. You want to hid the edges of the window sheet between the two pieces of cardstock so it looks complete and finished.  I also used a little of the embossing paste on the bottom of the snowman to look like snow. The snowman is attached with my favorite: dimensionals.

Here's the inside of the card. Isn't it cute to see the "back" side of the snowman. To attach on the inside, I used regular adhesive because I didn't want it to be too bulky if I used dimensionals.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop - Dragonfly Dreams

Welcome to another great blog hop with the Stamper's Dozen. By now, we all know the retiring list of stamps and products is out. I know a tough time to say goodbye to some awesome favorites but don't worry, not all of it is going. For my card this month, I narrowed it down to the dragonfly dreams stamp set. It wasn't easy because I really like some of the other ones quite a bit. It wasn't an easy decision.

I wanted a bright and fun card and I think I achieved that goal. To get the multiple colors on the strip of dragonflies, I die-cut them out of the four colors and then carefully hand-cut them to fit onto the strip of the daffodil delight dragonflies. The fine-tip glue pen is perfect to put these guys together. 

The spotted dots stamp makes an awesome multi-colored background very quickly. Change the greeting and I think you would definitely cheer up someone with this card too.

A Little Color Challenge for Today

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Good Friday to you. Today with the Sisters in Stamping we have a little color challenge for all of you. The colors we were able to use were early espresso, pool party and whisper white. I decided to use the High Tide stamp set (good thing, since it hasn't seen a drop of ink yet) for this card.

Little bit of a challenge to use only two colors of ink on this card with this particular set, but have no fear, I was able to accomplish just that by stamping off on my scratch paper once or even twice for the sand. The early espresso was stamped off once for the lighthouse and then the birds are full strength. It really works so don't forget to do that when you need a shade lighter but don't have it.

I love the texture on the frame of the card, it adds the perfect touch.

Cupcakes, Cupcakes & More Cupcakes

Hello Stamping Friends,

Anyone who knows me, knows I love to make cupcakes. It's now to the point I get asked to make them for people too. This week the theme over at Sisters in Stamping is all about cupcakes and then more cupcakes. I mean, really, who doesn't love a good cupcake?

This cupcake is from a set you may not think of as having any cupcakes at first glance. It's the Lift Me Up stamp set. It's the little basket for the hot air balloon and what is a cloud stamp. Pretty cool, huh?  Love when you can use something for an entirely new use.
