Favorite New Product

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today is Friday and you all know what that means: Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping.  Friday is  day we all look forward to for so many different reasons. One of the many reasons I like Friday is that I get to share my love for stamping and creating with all of you and my "Sisters in Stamping"  I love being a part of that group, these ladies have become friends that I treasure and it all started because of stamps and our love of creating.

This week with the sisters we are showing you some of our favorite new products. There are so many great new things in the Holiday catalog as well as other things that recently became available that you won't find in either catalog. Prior to the holiday catalog coming out, I was wanting to begin a monthly banner class. There are so many reasons to decorate throughout the year and I thought a banner would be a great home décor piece to add to each occasion. Well, imagine my excitement when I received the holiday catty in my hot little hands and saw the new banner kit. This just made the whole banner class process that much easier.

This is the banner created at my first class: Celebrate. What better way to kick off the new class but with a celebration banner that can be used for so many occasions. Birthday (of course), retirement, kid's great report card, new job or promotion, or any other event that you want to celebrate.  I kept it kind of neutral by not putting any party hats or cupcakes on it so that it could be used for anything and not just for a birthday.

The next few photos will be close-ups of a few banner pieces at a time so you can see them closer.  I love the banner kit because of the awesome stencils that come with it. You get three stencils to make backgrounds, one circle stencil, in case you wanted to color the circle the letter is in and then you get stencils for the complete alphabet. Isn't that awesome?

I made some lollies for the banner and glued a little brights button to the center to hide the hot glue.  They are also hot glued to the banner to make sure they stay put. Notice the "l" banner, it has an extra piece of canvas attached over the banner that comes in the kit.  I cut a piece of canvas from the 12x12 canvas sheet that you will find in the 2013-2014 Catalog. Fun little spin, right?

I also used Chevron ribbon in colors that closely coordinated with the colors I sponged on to the banners using the stencils and ink pads to decorate the twine that is holding the banner all together.

Isn't it an awesome little banner that will make your next celebration even more special?  As I mentioned earlier, I am offering a banner class every month. September's theme is Halloween so be watching for my class schedule so you can attend.

Back to School

Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope you are enjoying these last few weeks of summer. I feel like summer just started about a week ago. Thanks in large part to a big construction project that consumed the summer. I must say, the kitchen is done and I love it. It's bright and looks so open compared to what it was.

Anyway, on to the subject that really matters, Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are showcasing for you, Back to School projects.  We all know some students heading back to the classroom or a teacher that is spending the last few days getting ready to welcome a new class of students to her room. So this week's theme is perfect for that.

I created a trio of little gifts that would be perfect for either the teacher or your favorite student. Who couldn't use a cute little notebook and matching pen?  And then the bonus magnetic decorated clips (aka clothespins) to hang important papers in the classroom or a special note or picture in a locker.

The paper in the pen is the same as the "binding" of the notebook. You NEED a pen that matches your notebook to make you feel complete. Well, I know I do. The tag on the notebook is printed designer series paper. Only the "bravo" was stamped on it. Makes it super simple to make.

Just a small piece of designer series paper will cover your clothespins to make them look great. The stars are stamped in the same colors that are found in the designer paper and coordinate with the stamped stars on the notebook.

Just a quick view of the backside so you can see the magnets.  If you go back to the first picture on this post, you will see the clear envelopes make the perfect "packaging" for these gifts. I sure love when things work out so perfectly. Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more back to school inspiration.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: Simply Stars, One in A Million
Ink: Calypso Coral, Old Olive, & Pool Party
Paper: Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, & Etcetera Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Paper Snips, Dimenisonals, Snail Adhesive, Island Indigo Baker's Twine, Clear Envelope
Non-SU products: notebook, clothespins, magnets

More of My Favorite Product

Hello Stamping Friends,

Can't believe it's Friday again. The time is just moving so quickly. So since it's Friday, you know what that means: it's time for Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping.  This week we are focusing on some new big shot items. Yes, that is my favorite line we have (well, besides the stamps, but that goes without saying). I used two different products, a embossing folder and some framelits to make this card. Of course, it also uses some cute little pumpkins from the Holiday catalog as well.

The embossing folder I used is called Modern Mosaic, which coincidentally has a coordinating stamp set (I just didn't use it). You know how much I love embossing folders. I honestly think a card isn't finished (well, most of the time) unless there's some texture from a embossing folder somewhere.  I used the Deco Labels Collection Framelits to cut the opening for the cute little pumpkins to pop through.  Look how happy that one little guy is.

I used Stampin' write markers to "ink" up the stamp so I could get it three different colors.  It is all one stamp. The stamp itself is called Halloween Happiness, it is a single stamp found in the Holiday catalog.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: Halloween Happiness
Ink: Stampin' Write Markers: Basic Black, Garden Green and Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Sahara Sand, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White Cardstock & Modern Medley Designer Series Paper
Other: Big Shot, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Deco Labels Collection Framelits, Magnetic Platform, Snail Adhesive, Dimensionals

Thanks again for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. And don't forget to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog to see more great big shot items used to create.

Bundle & Save, That's the Way

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's Friday again. Woohoo, the weekend is here. That also means it's time again for another Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping.  This week we are focusing on the great bundles in both the annual catalog and the Holiday Catalog.  There are so many great bundles (stamp sets and punches, stamp sets and framelits) that you can purchase and save 15% off retail price by getting the bundle instead of getting the items individually.

The best part about that is that then you have just what you need to make great projects with minimal effort. You just have to love that. I love creating when things are super easy. The project could be very detailed but as long as the process is easy, it's for me.

My card this week was inspired by one of the many awesome swaps I received at convention last month.  I changed a few things to make it more "me" but not too much because it already was a great card. It uses the Flower Shop Bundle which includes the punch and stamp set. The set has six different pansy flowers (different designs but all the same shape).

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: Flower Shop Bundle with punch, A Dozen Thoughts
Ink: Early Espresso So Saffron, Pool Party, & Calypso Coral
Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Early Espresso, So Saffron, & Calypso Coral Cardstock
Accessories: Big Shot, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Pansy Punch (part of bundle), Basic Pearls, Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive & Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch

Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget to visit the Sisters in Stamping for more bundle ideas.
