Christmas is in the Air

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's time for another great hop with the Stampers Dozen goup. This month is all about................................................you guessed it............................ Christmas! It is that time of year to start prepping or finishing those Christmas cards. If you don't have your idea yet, today's hop will help you get those creative juices flowing.

I made this card for a swap for this past weekend's Stampin' Up! event that I attended in Pittsburgh. It is not a difficult card to make, but it sure looks nice, especially in person.

This particular card comes together rather quickly because the paper does all the work for you and the punches make life super easy. The only thing that I stamped was the greeting. The glimmer paper and textured vellum add so much to this card.

Autumn Color Challenge

Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope you are having a great day. Today with the Sisters in Stamping we are sharing a color combination challenge with all of you. The colors are traditionally more fall-like.

Look at how rich these colors are together!

I used every color in the challenge on this card and it's not really a fall looking card is it? Interesting how the colors look different used with different stamps. I could have easily used leaves and made it a fall-looking card, but I decided to go a different route.

I stamped each of the greenery pieces on the very vanilla cardstock and then also on a scrap piece of cardstock to cut out and pop up with dimensionals.  Then I cut stamped the pots in three different colors and cut those out and popped them up too. I love the dimension on the card. (You know that already about me)

Thanks for stopping by. Remember to visit Sisters in Stamping for more ideas using this color combination.

Wonders of Watercolor Paper

Hello Stamping Friends,

Welcome to another great Sunday Fun Day with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are sharing watercolor paper projects with you. When was the last time you made a card using watercolor paper? That long? Well, it's time to get it out and use it to make a great card.

I made my card using a clear block to make my background. I took three different blue Stampin' Write markers: coastal cabana, pool party, and bermuda bay, and scribbled on the clear block (1/3 of the block for each color). Then I spritzed it with water and stamped it onto a piece of watercolor paper that was also spritzed with water.  I love how the three colors blend together.

I wanted the blues to give the impression of water. You will need to have the paper completely dry before stamping the images and greeting on the watercolor paper or else they will bleed since our inks are water-based.  (Don't ask me how I know this, wink, wink!)

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more ideas using watercolor paper.
