Everyone's Favorite New Bundle

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Friday! Well, until I think about this being the last Friday off of school for the summer. That make me sad. Except, this year, I get to teach the first day of school. I have been asked to fill in the first two weeks of school for a kindergarten/first grade music classroom. Please pray that I do an awesome job. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. You know, I'm not a music teacher but thankfully the little ones won't be too critical. I've have been researching some things over the past few days (yep, I just found out, not last minute Nelly this time for me) and have some fun ideas planned so I think I will be okay. Plus, I have a friend that is the music teacher in the district's other elementary school so I will be in touch with her as needed. Thanks, Jess.

Anyway, on to what you came for, stamping ideas. This week with the Sisters in Stamping we are focusing on the awesome bundles in the holiday catalog. There are so many great ones, it's really hard to pick one as a favorite.  I decided to focus on the ever popular Delightful Daisy bundle that obviously everyone wants because it went into a backorder status really quick. It got so backed up that Stampin' Up! even turned the number off making it un-orderable for a bit. Have no fear, it is available again so go ahead and place your order for this great new bundle. We have sold more of the daisy punch in just a few months than the other punches have sold in a 5 year period. Now, that definitely makes it a favorite.

For my card, I wanted the greeting on the inside but able to be seen from the outside. How in the world can I achieve such a goal? Well, it's really easy with window sheets. I cut off part of the front flap on the base and replaced it with a window sheet.

Here's a close-up, so you can see what I mean a lot better. This is showing you what the card looks like when it is standing on display. I am loving this card design. It's so fun. You need to try it.

And here's another shot of it. Neat card, don't you think?  I love the coordinating designer series paper. The designs are so different that you can achieve a totally different look by selecting another sheet from the pack.  So, think you need to have the daisy bundle?  Everyone else does. What are you waiting for?  (wink, wink)

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more great bundle ideas.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stampers Dozen Blog Hop - Holiday Edition

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's that time of the month again. Time for great ideas from the Stampers Dozen. That's right, it's blog hop day. And today, you are going to love what we have to share with you. You got it, a sneak peek at some of the fantastic offerings you will be able to purchase from the Holiday catalog when it debuts on September 1st. There are so many awesome things you are going to want to have a get together so you can earn some of it for free. Contact me today to get your date set.

I decided to go with a Halloween theme today. I absolutely love how this card turned out. It's super quick, so if you're short on time or you need to make a bunch, this is a perfect card for that. There is not one stamped thing on here. It's all paper. Told you quick and easy, plus minimal products but an awesome looking card.

I used the Spooky Night designer series paper, three different designs. You got it, even the cat was simply punched out using the new cat punch from the designer series paper. Pretty cool, huh?  So I started with the basic black base, then a layer of very vanilla, and then cut two different designs from the designer paper to make the background. I just continued the patterned, minus the orange designer paper for the smaller square that becomes the focal point with the cat.

To cover the seams of where the two papers meet I used the fun new black and white striped ribbon. Love the polka dots and stripes together.

So what do you think? Great card, that's both quick and easy?  Hope you like it.  Remember to keep hopping.

National Son's and Daughter's Day: Say What????

Hello Stamping Friends,

Welcome to another great Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. Today is National Celebrate Son's and Daughter's Day, so we decided to share projects/cards with you that are kid centered.  Not so sure my sons would like this project, but it is great for girls. I'm not even sure we need a day for son's and daughter's. Isn't everyday kids day?

What is it, you ask?  Well, it's an adorable little chap stick holder. It's great for a party favor or just a little fun way to package up a little gift for the sweet little girl in your life. So bright and cheerful it is sure to bring a smile to any little girl.

Here's the inside. I stamped the little message on the inside and then used the Stampin' Write markers to "color" the word love and the doodles around the words. Just that little big of color makes a world of difference with how the finished project looks.

I love the color combination; pool party, calypso coral and lemon lime twist (my new favorite color). The set I used is the Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set. It's this year's Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set. Did you know that $3 from the sale of each set goes directly to the Ronald McDonald House Charity? What a great cause and a bonus for you because not only do you donate a little bit, but you also get a great stamp set to use.

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping to see more great projects in honor of kids.

National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's Friday!!!!!! Woohoo. Any big plans for the weekend? This weekend is pretty busy for us here in the Yurkanin house. It starts with a Girl's Night Out for me tonight, soccer game and wedding tomorrow and Sunday there's a few options but we haven't committed to anything particular yet. I love busy summer weekends. But first, we need to focus on Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are sharing cards using Chocolate Chip since it is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day today. Be sure to get out and get some chocolate chip cookies (or bake your own).

Today's card was a card that we recently made at the July Stamp a Stash class. The baby bear stamp set is a great set. The bear is stamped in three different layers (yep, three different ink pad colors) and you literally watch him come to life as you stamp each layer.  For this bear, I stamped the first layer in crumb cake, then the second layer is soft suede and the final layer is chocolate chip.

This is a pretty quick card that you can make if you need a baby card and don't have one on hand. It really only takes a few minutes to put it all together. The designer paper I used was Coffee Break. I love that you can use  many of the designer series paper for other things than the stamp set that it was made to coordinate with. The polka dot paper in the set is also another great option for this card. The blues and greens in the paper make a perfect boy baby card.

I stamped the greeting on the Chocolate chip paper in whisper white ink. A simple greeting that is just perfect for welcoming a new baby.  The bear is cut out and attached to the card using (my favorite) dimensionals.

If you switch the paper up with some pinks or purples you have a great girl baby card. Also, try the bear in colors other than brown and they are just as adorable.

Thanks for visiting.
