Ready for New

Are you ready for New?  New Year? New mini catalog?  There is so many great new stamps and products in the new Occasions Mini Catalog that we (Sisters in Stamping) decided to give you a sneak peek at some of our favorite new items.

I used the Sweet Cake stamp set along with the Sweet Shop Designer Series Paper from the Sweet Shop Product Suite in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  This card is what I actually used for my son's birthday invitation.  He wanted cupcakes instead of a cake so I couldn't pass up the chance to use some of my new goodies.

I love using Designer Series paper because it makes picking colors to use really easy.  They always go together perfectly and I don't have to worry.

Don't forget to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog for more peeks.

Holiday Decor, Stampin' Up! Style

This week at Sisters in Stamping we are sharing some Home Decor Ideas with everyone.  I decided to share the Snowman that was made at one of my classes back in October.  We also made a turkey and a pumpkin.  All three use the decor blocks used in the Idea Book & Catalog.

Just sharing the Snowman today because I thought the other two were, well ya know, out of season. So you can purchase one set of decor blocks (4 to a pack) and make the complete set like we did at the class or you can just make 2 snowmen from it.  Your choice.  Love being able to give you choices.

The big shot was used to give the snowman texture.  We used the Snow Burst embossing folder from the Holiday mini (remember it's available until January 3, 2012).  The mouth, eyes, and buttons used the little flower type punch from the trio pack (I thought it looked more like coal that way).  The nose was just the tip from the pennant punch.  Used the poppy parade ribbon for the hat and the scarf.  I love the way the snowflake felt accent finishes it off nicely.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more home decor ideas.

A pretty way to give a Gift

Welcome to another great week of stamping and creating at Sisters in Stamping.  This week we are focusing on gift card holders.  We all say they are the perfect gift for those people who are difficult to buy for, right?  Well, now we can give them those awesome gifts in a fabulous holder that will be sure to please them just as much as the gift itself.

I used the Stocking die and the big shot to make my gift card holder. I used very vanilla cardstock to cut two of each piece from the die.  On the front of the stocking I embossed using the Northern Flurry folder. For the cuff, toe, and heel of the stocking I used the Snow burst folder to carry over the snowflake theme.  I used some dazzling diamonds on the large snowflake on the stocking for some added pizzazz.  To finish it off I made a bow using baja breeze and very vanilla seam binding and marina mist 1/8" taffeta ribbon.  The bow is secured using an Antique brad.

I used the tombo multi purpose adhesive (aka green glue) to glue the stocking together (don't put glue on the top) and it was used to glue the pieces on too.  I used a dimensional on the back of the brad to attach the bow to the stocking.

Be sure to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog for even more great gift card holder ideas.

Playing Catch Up Part 1

I just realized that I didn't post week 6 and week 7 of the 12 weeks of Christmas tutorials. I sent them out to the people that bought the complete set of tutorials but didn't post here. They are really nice projects so I better do it now before you miss out on them.

Obviously life has gotten in the way but it is back on track (just the normal hustle and bustle of the holidays now).  Guess that happens to all of us from time to time, right?

I will post week 6 today and then come back tomorrow for week 7.

This week is a set of gift tags and a great holder to store them in. We can always use more gift tags to put on those great gifts we are buying for our loved ones this time of year.

You can purchase each tutorial individually for $2.95 or buy all 12 of them for only $24.95. If you choose to purchase the complete set now, I will email you the tutorials each week as they are released.
