The Man, The Myth, The Legend

Remember to Create!

Hello Stamping Friends,

Welcome to another awesome blog hop with the Stampers Dozen. We are ready to celebrate the man, the myth, the legend. You know, the dads in our lives. Next weekend is their special day and we are ready to share with you some great projects that you can recreate this week just in time to give it to the special dad in your life.

Nothing says dads day like a man relaxing in a chair with his hat tipped over his eyes while he takes a little siesta. This stamp is perfect and the sentiment tells the perfect story: it's your day, you can relax and enjoy it your way.

For this card, I made it in to a gift card holder. Notice in the picture above that there is a half circle cut out in the folded part. That's where you can tuck the gift card to dad's favorite restaurant, store, or recreational activity while he is reminded that he can relax his way.

Remember to keep hopping and be sure to make the man, the myth, the legend in your life that special card or project for Father's Day next week.

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon.

Trash or Treasure?

Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope you are having a wonderful day.  The sun is shining here and that makes for a very cheerful, happy day (yes, it's still cold but I can enjoy the sunshine from inside my home).  Welcome to another Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping.  This week our focus was on any of the accessories and designer series paper in the Spring Catalog.  What a fun challenge I say.  I have been saving soup/vegetable cans for a bit because I have wanted to cover them and make them pretty. I was also thinking I needed a nice little container for pens for my workshops.  And by golly, I think I did it.  I'm loving the way this little project turned out.

Here it is all prettied up. From trash to treasure, right? Who wouldn't want to use a pen from this awesome little pen holder?  It's so easy to cover, you're going to start covering them to have all over the place. I think it would also be a great way to package up a little gift.  Kind of a gift in a gift.

Here's a close-up of the flowers and greeting on the can.  So what do you think?  Going to head in the kitchen, empty some cans, and start redecorating? That's what I thought. (smile)

Stamping Supplies Used:

Paper: Whisper White Cardstock & Tea for Two Designer Series Paper

Be sure you head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more ideas using the designer paper and accessories from the Spring catalog.

Also, tomorrow I'm sharing with you the sweetest Valentine I have ever received and the story to go with it. So you better come back to check it out, you won't want to miss it. I promise you it's going to warm your heart.

Week 9 - Twelve Weeks Of Christmas

Hello Stamping Friends,

Here we are at week 9 of the 12 Weeks Of Christmas Tutorials. Time is just going by way too fast for me. There's so much to do and so little time to do it all. However, I know somehow I will get it all completed, just don't ask me how I do it.

Here are some fun ways to wrap up your gifts this holiday season – a trio of gift card holders and a cute gift bag perfect to jazz up those smaller gifts! With a single pack of the Be of Good Cheer designer series paper you’ll easily be able to make as many of these as you’ll need!

As always you can buy just this week's tutorial for $3.95 or you can buy the complete set of 12 Weeks of Christmas tutorials for $24.95. The choice is yours. Click the appropriate link below.

A pretty way to give a Gift

Welcome to another great week of stamping and creating at Sisters in Stamping.  This week we are focusing on gift card holders.  We all say they are the perfect gift for those people who are difficult to buy for, right?  Well, now we can give them those awesome gifts in a fabulous holder that will be sure to please them just as much as the gift itself.

I used the Stocking die and the big shot to make my gift card holder. I used very vanilla cardstock to cut two of each piece from the die.  On the front of the stocking I embossed using the Northern Flurry folder. For the cuff, toe, and heel of the stocking I used the Snow burst folder to carry over the snowflake theme.  I used some dazzling diamonds on the large snowflake on the stocking for some added pizzazz.  To finish it off I made a bow using baja breeze and very vanilla seam binding and marina mist 1/8" taffeta ribbon.  The bow is secured using an Antique brad.

I used the tombo multi purpose adhesive (aka green glue) to glue the stocking together (don't put glue on the top) and it was used to glue the pieces on too.  I used a dimensional on the back of the brad to attach the bow to the stocking.

Be sure to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog for even more great gift card holder ideas.
