This card is for the Sisters in Stamping challenge of making a masculine card. This card uses the Come Sail Away suite to make this soft-looking masculine card. It says "thanks" but that can easily be switched out for any occasion you need a card for. I think it would be a good sympathy card because of the softness this card. 

It's also a great card to make if you don't have a ton of supplies. There's only one ink color and one cardstock color (besides white, I don't think that even counts). It's all about the layering that makes this simple-to-make card so appealing to the eye.

Fabulous Birthday Cards

This week with the Sisters in Stamping we are sharing fabulous birthday cards with all of you. Being that everyone has a birthday each year, these are probably the most needed cards every year. 

This is definitely a very girly card.  I suppose I should have added some dazzling diamonds to make it a bit more sparkly. You can never go wrong with more glitter. (That's my motto!)  I used the Best Dressed Designer Series paper to start with my colors and then I just continues with the stamp set from the suite. I colored the perfume bottle, lipstick, and the flowers with the Stampin' Blend markers. To finish the lipstick off, I used the Wink of Stella shimmer pen to add some sparkle to the purple lipstick. Shimmery lipstick is just better.  Those three pieces are cut out and attached with dimensionals.

Then just start layering to give your card the complete finished look. The more layers the better, or so I think. The old olive strips are layered between the blackberry bliss and the highland heather layers for a little different look. Usually I would layer those behind the bottom layer.

Designer Series Paper Makes Creating Easy

Welcome to another great week with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are letting the designer series papers do the work for us. Creating with these papers is so easy. They help with colors, stamp choice, and overall layout.

I used the Peaceful Poppies designer series paper to create this Sympathy card. I can not tell you how much I dislike making these card, but I know how much they are appreciated by the recipients when they lose a loved one. They are necessary but thinking why they need to be sent is just too sad for me. 

For this card, I made the designer paper the main thing you see and then added some punched circles for the greeting with one little cut out poppy to bring it all together. Of course, the greeting is attached using dimensionals. I also took the mossy meadow Stampin' Write marker to doodle around the edge of the white circle. Without it, it was just to bland. It really brought the whole project together. I also punched some leaves to stick behind the greeting to add a little more.

Smile, it's Fall

Hope you are having a fabulous Friday. I'll be honest, mine isn't so fab since I am not feeling well. You know it's bad when you come home from school and take a nap, a four hour nap! Hopefully that's just what I needed and I'm on the upswing now. I think it's sinus related.

However, it is Friday and that means fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. Good thing my project was already made because who knows what it would look like if I had to create today.  (HAHA)

The theme today is a fall card. My card is "fallish." It's a bit untraditional, guess that is who I am right now being my last card was a little untraditional as well.  I love the ferns that come with the new daisy set, Daisy Lane.

I stamped the ferns in two different colors, pear pizzazz and garden green before cutting them out. Again, my color inspiration came from some designer series paper Garden Lane. Be sure to use your resources in that catalog to help you make beautiful looking projects.

A Card We Hope We Don't Need

Happy Friday.  I just love Fridays. They are the last day of the school week and we get to share with you some great stamping ideas.  This week with the Sisters in Stamping we are focusing on a card most of us need, but one we don't really enjoy making: a sympathy card.  For obvious reasons, these are not the most fun cards to make. I mean honestly, it's the one card we always hope we don't need.

This is a great subtle card that I feel shows a lot of emotion. And that's all thanks to the great designer series paper, Perennial Essence. It's such a soft-looking paper thanks to the hand-painted impressionistic imagery on it. I believe this card is saying I care the best way a sympathy card can.

I never make enough of these and that point makes me sad. Sad because I need more than I make.

Back for another Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. We are still celebrating our 10 year anniversary this week so don't forget to hop over and leave a comment for your chance for some Blog Candy. The theme this week was pretty fun. We scrolled through all of our past Sisters in Stamping blog posts to find the most popular one and needed to recreate it using current Stampin' Up! supplies. 

I'll admit, I was a bit anxious to open my most popular post in fear of what I was up against. I was waiting for it to be some crazy, detailed project that would take a lot of time. Imagine my surprise when I open it and found this delightful, simple but nice card waiting for me to recreate it. This project was from THIS POST back in June of 2016. It was even well received by all my workshop guests back then. They loved making this card.

Below you will see the recreated project. I decided to use the pens from the Crafting Forever stamp set for the image. Super simple, just repeatedly stamp the stamp image. I stamped once and then turned it upside down to stamp again and then turned it again to stamp it a third time. This was done twice to make two rows of pens. I layered the greeting on plain basic black cardstock this time instead of designer series paper because the image wasn't a bold as the previous card I made.

You can easily make a set of these with a few different sayings to make a gift for a friend.  The best part is that a set could be made literally in minutes, but the impact of the gift is far greater.
