Not the Usual Red, White, and Blue

Hello Stampin' Friends,

Another post from the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are sharing some red, white, and blue cards, but they are not used in the usual fashion. Most often, we see red, white, and blue and think patriotic items. Well, we're here to show you that you can use it in other ways.

I used the Hey Chuck stamp set to make this card. Those chickens are the cutest.  They are so fun, quirky, and a bit sassy.

This little guy is showing you how cool he is. Swim trunks, skateboard, what else does he need? I used the Basic 3D Embossing folders that are an online exclusive for the background. At first, I picked the dotted background because it make me think of "chicken" skin and then I realized it worked also with the swim trunks. So you decide.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping to see a little more of the red, white, and blue in an unusual way.

ALSO, BIG news, on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, for ONE DAY ONLY, Stampin' Up! is offering FREE SHIPPING on all orders over $75. I can place your order for you, or if you'd like you can just head over to  my website: www.rachelyurkanin.stampinup.net
and you can place your own online order.

Card Sketch Stampers Dozen June Blog Hop

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's time for another blog hop with the Stampers Dozen group. This month we are using a card sketch as our inspiration.  Card sketches are great when you are finding yourself in a creative slump.  I also love how different every card turns out even using the same sketch as inspiration.

This is a pretty easy sketch to follow and has so many options when you start thinking of what you can do. I used the strips behind the small rectangle to focus on using some designer series paper. Remember so many packages of designer paper is on sale this month, so get that order in. It's a great time to stock up and get all of your favorite packages.

Below you will find my card. I love how it turned out. Berry Burst, Blueberry Bushel, and Lemon Lime Twist, the three colors that gave me my starting point of this card.

I love, love, love typewriters. I really should have kept the one I had from high school. I saw one in an antique store (don't get me started that it was in antique store because I'm NOT that old and it doesn't belong there) and it was very expensive. Who would have thought they would be that high priced years later?

One of my favorite stamps (besides the actual typewriter, of course) in the set is the hello greeting that looks like the typewriter keys on even older typewriters than I had growing up. I only wish it was a full alphabet so I could make any greeting I wanted. I suppose I'll just have to make a bunch of "Hello" cards.

Be sure to click the links below to keep hopping and to see how different, yet the same each bloggers cards are. You won't be disappointed.
