A Day of Gratitude

Remember to Create!

Hello Stamping Friends,

Can you believe it's Friday again? Time is just flying by, but then again it always does this time of year. With the holidays fast approaching and travel soccer tournament season in full swing the days may seem long, but the weeks are certainly shorter than I need them to be.

This week with the Sisters in Stamping we are sharing gratitude/thank you cards with you. The theme is obviously appropriate since Thanksgiving is next week, but we honestly should be thankful every day of the year and not just at this time, don't you think? I try to be, but I know I fall short sometimes.

For this card I used the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and the coordinating designer series paper, Magnolia Lane to great this simple but great looking card. I only used stamps, ink and paper on this one and it looks like a million bucks. Sometimes, you just don't need to have a ton of accessories to have your card look like it's "put together."

Don't forget today is the FINAL DAY for the Online Extravaganza. All details are below.

You'll definitely want to hop on over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more great gratitude/thank you cards.

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon.

Today is for the Birds!

Remember to Create!

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Friday to you. Today is for the birds! No, I'm not having a bad day, I'm talking about the Sisters in Stamping Fabulous Friday blog hop.  It's all about the birds. There are so many great bird sets in the annual catalog that you can create for days.

I made this friendship card. It's a pretty card that will let a friend know just how important they are to you. After all, having a great friend is the best thing in the world to have. Someone that you can lean on when times are tough and someone to have a good time filled with laughs.

I have so many great friends that I know I can lean on when needed, but they are also a great group of friends that I can laugh so hard with them until I cry.

I used the Free as a Bird Bundle for my card. The bundle includes stamps and dies that coordinate. I wanted a neutral base so the focal point, the birds on the branch, stood out more than anything else. What do you think?

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more creative ideas that are "for the birds."

Stamper's Dozen Home Decor Blog Hop

Remember to Create!

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's time for another blog hop with the Stamper's Dozen group. This month the theme is home decor. You will sure be delighted with all the gift-giving possibilities  you will find as you hop along.

For my decor piece I selected to share this fun flip out memory book with you. The finished size is 6"x6". By using one of the memory and more card packs along with the coordinating designer series paper, this book will come together so quickly. It is so much fun to make as well.

Making these as gifts would be perfect. Imagine the recipients surprise when they open their gift and see that you filled it with precious memories of times you had together.

These next few pictures are of the inside as you flip it open. There's a surprise around every turn.

The self-adhesive die cuts in the memories and more pack make the perfect embellishments.

Look it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. And every level is different.

Isn't this fun?

The green flaps in the picture above flip open to reveal even more space to capture your memories (picture below).

And the final picture is deep inside the book. The lighthouse element is only attached to one side so it opens to reveal a few more spots to capture your story.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to keep hopping through for more great home decor ideas. If you would like the tutorial for this project all you need to do is place an order through me (www.rachelyurkanin.stampinup.net) and I will send it to you.

Cappuccino Inspired Card

Remember to Create!

Hello Stamping Friends,

Can you believe we had snow up here on the mountain already? Only about a quarter of an inch, but still, I'm NOT ready for it. Plus this weekend is the coldest one since March. I'm not ready for that either, but I guess ready or not, it's here and I need to quietly adjust. LOL

This week with the Sisters in Stamping we are sharing with you projects made with a cappuccino theme. I decided to go with the colors of a cappuccino instead of the coffee/beverage aspect of it.

We can always use more masculine cards and this card can definitely fit the bill. This would make a great card for someone graduating or moving away, don't you think? I used several things from the Come Sail Away suite for this card including a card from the Memories and more pack. I love those pack and how easy they make creating great looking projects. Can you guess which piece is from the pack?

This is a z-fold card. I cut my cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and folded it in half and then folded the front flap back to the edge (so in essence, folded that in half as well). These are such fun cards to make and changes up the typical card so easily.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more ideas with a cappuccino theme. Thanks for stopping by. See you soon.
