Stamper's Dozen Home Decor Blog Hop

Remember to Create!

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's time for another blog hop with the Stamper's Dozen group. This month the theme is home decor. You will sure be delighted with all the gift-giving possibilities  you will find as you hop along.

For my decor piece I selected to share this fun flip out memory book with you. The finished size is 6"x6". By using one of the memory and more card packs along with the coordinating designer series paper, this book will come together so quickly. It is so much fun to make as well.

Making these as gifts would be perfect. Imagine the recipients surprise when they open their gift and see that you filled it with precious memories of times you had together.

These next few pictures are of the inside as you flip it open. There's a surprise around every turn.

The self-adhesive die cuts in the memories and more pack make the perfect embellishments.

Look it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. And every level is different.

Isn't this fun?

The green flaps in the picture above flip open to reveal even more space to capture your memories (picture below).

And the final picture is deep inside the book. The lighthouse element is only attached to one side so it opens to reveal a few more spots to capture your story.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to keep hopping through for more great home decor ideas. If you would like the tutorial for this project all you need to do is place an order through me (www.rachelyurkanin.stampinup.net) and I will send it to you.

12 Weeks of Christmas - Stamp Case Scrapbook

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's time for another installment of the 12 Weeks of Christmas.  We are a few days late with this so we could enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday with family. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are already in week 8, and if you are doing the math, that means there's only 4 more weeks before Christmas is upon us.  I'm sure after Thanksgiving and Black Friday most of you are in high gear getting ready for Christmas.  I know I haven't done much shopping (I'm certainly NOT a Black Friday kind of gal, I'd rather watch my sister's kids so she and her husband can go out) but all of my decorations are waiting in my family room to be pulled out of the boxes and make the house look magical.

This weeks tutorial is also a magical kind of kit. If you make it and give it as a gift, it will be sure delight for years to come.  I transformed a simple clear stamp set case into a wonderful pull-out scrapbook that you can jam-pack with photos and memorabilia (yes, there's some pockets for you to keep those special momentos from the season).  It won't even take you too much time to complete the entire book. I made it even easier by using a Simply Scrappin' kit.

And here's a view of part of it pulled out of the case.  If you would like complete instructions you can purchase the tutorial by clicking the links below.  Remember you can buy just this week's tutorial or you can get all 12 weeks. Of course, the better deal is purchasing all 12 weeks.  And I must tell you, they have been great so far and you are going to love the last 4 weeks as well.

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today brings the Week 3 tutorial for the 12 Weeks of Christmas.  Can't believe week 3 is already here.  Not ready for how fast Christmas is coming, that's for sure. Anyway, Debbie created this wonderful flip scrapbook for us this week. It would make a great Christmas gift or be a treasured keepsake for years to come with all of your Christmas 2012 pictures.

If you purchase the tutorial for this week or the complete set, you will get step by step instructions with pictures on how to make this book on your own.

Here is a partial view of the book opened up.  It can fit a lot of pictures in it.  Just think of the endless possibilities, you can make a baby flip book, a wedding, a birthday, the list goes on and on.

Mini Scrapbook Day

Hello stamping friends,

It's time for a Fabulous Friday at Sisters in Stamping.  This week we decided to focus on Mini Scrapbooks in honor of National Scrapbook Month (and National Scrapbook Day which is tomorrow).  I love these mini books to give as gifts. What a fabulous way to share some memories with your friends and family.  Some other great ideas for a mini book would be to keep in your purse or to take with you when you are travelling.  You can have your loved ones near you the whole time (okay, only their picture, but still it's better than nothing).

These book are also great projects for children to work on over the Summer to document the fun times they have over Summer Vacation.

Today I made my mini book using brown lunch bags. That's right, a simple little lunch bag was the beginning of this book.  I used the Well Worn Designer Series Paper for a masculine feel for my book.  I titled it "Dad" but that can easily be changed out to a name or another word.

To make the boook I used two brown lunch bags.

Here's the book with the journaling tags that are tucked in the pockets pulled out a little for you to see.

Here's the first set of pages in this mini book.

Here's the second set of pages.

And the final set of pages in the book.

And of course I needed to show you the back of the book.

This is such a fun and really quick project to put together.  If you give it as a gift, the recipient will treasure it for a long time.

SUPPLIES USED:
Cardstock and Paper: Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Night of Navy, and Well Worn Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Big Shot, Star Originals Die, Alphabet Simple Letters Die, Round Tab punch, Neutrals Brads,  baker's twine, dimensionals, and snail adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget to head on over to Sisters in Stamping for more mini book inspiration.
