Sale-a-bration Sunday Fun Day

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's been a bit since I posted and I apologize. August simply got away from me. We went on vacation in the beginning of the month and the rest is just a blur.  Glad to be back and stamping with you. I missed creating the past few weeks.

This week for Sunday Fun Day with the Sisters in Stamping we are sharing projects made with Sale-a-bration products. Don't forget it is Sale-a-bration time and that means free things for you whether you order, host, or join the family.

I used the Penguin Playmates designer series paper for the starting point of my card. I love this paper (and it's a SAB freebie). I used five different patterns from the pack and the penguin comes from the paper too. I stamped the balloon from the penguin place stamp set and then used my favorite biggest wishes greeting set.

To make life a little easier on myself. I attached the 1" x 3 3/4" strips of paper on a piece of basic white cardstock. Then attached the entire white cardstock to the base of the card. Plus attaching to the white helps keeping them straight and even.

Don't forget to stop on over at the Sisters in Stamping blog for more Sale-a-bration inspiration.

Stampers Dozen Blog Hop - Move Me

Hello Stamping Friends,

Are you loving all of these blog hops? I love being a part of them and hope you are finding them inspiring as I am. I love picking up tips and design ideas from others that I may not have thought of.  Tonight, we have another Stampers Dozen Blog Hop. Seriously, these are once a month, but the month goes by so quick every month that I say how can it be time for Stampers Dozen again. This month's theme is a little movement.

Cards that move are so exciting to make and even more exciting to see the recipient open the card (if you have the option to be there when it's opened). There are so many different types of movement cards, if you do a search you'll be surprised.

Here's the front of my card. A nice birthday card using Biggest Wishes and the Penguin Place stamp set along with the FREE Penguin Playmates designer series paper from Sale-a-bration. Not much movement here you say, that's okay because the surprise is on the inside.

Look at that! Open it up and pops up a bunch of birthday balloons to surprise the birthday person. The balloons are attached to the card using 1/4" strips of window sheets. I attached the ribbon between the dimensionals and the balloons before putting it on the window sheet strip. The string is tied together to make a balloon bouquet and then just left hanging.

So to get the movement, I cut a 8 1/4" x 5 1/4" piece of basic white cardstock. Then I folded it in half and I took a ruler on an angle (no measuring for me) and folded the cardstock on the fold to make a triangle. Then open up the cardstock and reverse fold it so the pop up comes out of the center of the card.

Don't forget to keep hopping by clicking the links below. You'll be awed by all the ideas.

Sisters in Stamping Sunday Fun Day - Nature

Hello Stamping Friends,

Here for another week with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we need to think nature with our projects. Trees, flowers, animals, or anything else you may find in nature.

I decided to go with a whimsical nature looking card by using the Penguin Place stamp set. Plus there is a coordinating pack of designer series paper for Sale-a-bration which you can get for FREE with a qualifying order during the next two months that I also used on my card.

Isn't it adorable? I love the paper with the other animals on it too: a sly fox, a squishy polar bear, more penguins, and even a snowman. It's a little difficult to see in the picture but I used two strips of the designer paper to make some banner pieces to add more depth to the card. The penguin on the tag is punch from basic black and basic white cardstock and pieced together. The face and bowtie are stamped on.

I love the little gingham ribbon on the tag. You need to get yourself some of that ribbon. It works great with so many projects you create.  The tag is attached to the card with dimensionals. And the penguin is also attached to the tag with dimenstionals. You know how I love my dimensionals.

Don't forget to hop on over to Sisters in Stamping for more nature projects.  Maybe you will be inspired to get out in nature or just start creating some nature projects. Your choice.

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon.

Sale-a-bration Blog Hop - Crafty Collaborations

Hello Stamping Friends,

I'm so excited about Sale-a-bration beginning again. Isn't it great that we now have two different Sale-a-brations in one year? Now through September earn FREE items (stamps, accessories, or designer paper) with each qualifying order or you can host a party and earn even more FREEBIES.

I'm excited to be a part of this hop because you will get to see so many great ideas using the Sale-a-bration items. I have several dates open if you would like to host a gathering for you and your friends so everyone can earn some FREE goodies. Contact me today.

For my card, I started with a regular size card base, but then I folded the front flap back to the fold in the middle of the card to switch it up a bit. I layered cardstock and the Penguin Playmates designer paper on both the folded flap as well as the inside of the card.

I then used the sketched looking square in the Textures and Frames set you can earn for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration to frame the hello greeting from the Biggest Wishes stamp set. In reality, it is quite a simple card, but sometimes we need those as crafters. We need to be able to make multiples or we may just need to be quick because we don't have time. This card allows us to be creative and crafty with minimal time required.

I definitely think you need the basic white cardstock in the card to write your message on. I have been adding white cardstock to the inside of most of my cards because it is just easier to write on and certainly easier for the recipient to read. Plus, I think it just look more finished that way.

Don't forget to keep hopping. Click the links below to see more Sale-a-bration inspiration. Remember, contact me to schedule your gathering for a fun time stamping with friends.

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon.

Sunday Fun Day Sneak Peek at New Mini Catalog

Hello Stamping Friends,

Welcome to another week with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are sharing some projects made using new goodies from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. Did you receive your copy yet?  If not, let me know and I will immediately get one out to you. It's packed with new fun supplies.

I know I have shared many posts over the years that talked about my mom and how much I miss her. When you live more than half your life, your entire adult life without your mom you talk about her a lot to keep her with you. (Well, that's what I do anyway.) So, I was super excited when I saw the very first stamp set in the mini catalog. It's called Strong of Heart and it is a Make a Difference Stamp set.

You ask what is Make a Difference? Well, for each and every Strong of Heart stamp set purchased, Stampin' Up! will donate $3 to support heart health. It makes me so happy to be a part of this company and what they always do to help. This particular Make a difference hits home for me because my mom was 40 years young when she suddenly, completely unexpectedly passed from a massive heart attack. Heart issues are near and dear to my heart and this makes my heart happy. I hope you love it as much as I do and will find it in your heart to purchase this set and help make a difference.

I loved the shiny stripes in the Expressions in Ink Designer Series paper so I started with that and then decided I wanted to use pink (Polished Pink).  I added a small piece of the shimmer In Color vellum because who doesn't love extra shimmer and shine?

For this card, the only thing I changed was the actual sheet of designer paper. Same pack, different sheet so  you can see you can make a lot of the same basic cards by just changing the paper in the same pack.  The heart is stamped in smokey slate and then filled in with a stamped off heart in blushing bride. I colored the flowers with Stampin' Blends, just jade and polished pink.  I cut the heart out and added it to the card with dimensionals. I felt it still needed something, so I decided to add a cute little bow using the White 3/8" glittered organdy ribbon also found in the mini catalog.

In person, this card is gorgeous. It made me think of my mom while making it and I smiled when it was complete. Remember, you can help make a difference by just purchasing this awesome stamp set.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more peeks at the mini catalog.

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon.
