Stampers Dozen Garden Flowers Blog Hop

Hello Stamping Friends,

Tonight we have a blog hop with the Stampers Dozen group. This month's theme is garden flowers which is a perfect them for the summer when flowers abound all around.

I used the Irresistible Blooms bundle that is an online exclusive to make my project, Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper Pack, and the Bright & Beautiful Memories and More Card pack. I love when I have an idea in my head and then it actually works out with little to no deviation from what I initially had in mind. And that is just what happened with this frame. 

I stamped the flowers and leaves directly on the designer paper which is why there are lighter and darker shades. 

To put the flowers together, I die cut two of each stamped flower. I cut off the outer petals of one of the flowers so I could layer them together to add dimension to my flower. I also lightly crinkled each layer before putting them together. 

You can see I also die cut some of the outline type leaves to add a different dimension to the frame.   You can alter any frame, but this particular frame is from IKEA.

Overall, I'm really pleased with my finished project. I hope it has inspired you. You can place your favorite picture or quote in the frame to really personalize it.

Sale-a-brate Good Times

Hope you are having a great day. And if not that maybe this post will be a little bright spot in  your day. I'm back with a post with the Sisters in Stamping. This week our theme is Sale-a-bration. It is that time of year again here with Stampin' Up! Time for FREE product when  you place a qualifying purchase. 

I decided to use the wonderful Designer Series Paper called Favored Flowers to cover a small clipboard and make it not so boring. The paper is 12"x12". I cut one sheet down to six inches and used the front side for the top and the back side for the bottom (well, I guess that just depends on what you view at front and back, lol)  

I cut a small strip from another piece of paper from the back to cover the seam between the two. To adhere the paper onto the clipboard, I used a spray adhesive so I could cover the entire thing and make sure it is really stuck on there.

I also took another piece of paper that matches the bottom of the covered clipboard to cover the brand name on my small notepad. Plus, it's just better because it coordinates beautifully with the clipboard. 

Then, I took an even smaller strip of paper to cover the ink inside the pen. Each piece looks marvelous on its own, but together its a beautiful set that anyone would be envious of. Definitely a great gift set.

National Son's and Daughter's Day: Say What????

Welcome to another great Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. Today is National Celebrate Son's and Daughter's Day, so we decided to share projects/cards with you that are kid centered.  Not so sure my sons would like this project, but it is great for girls. I'm not even sure we need a day for son's and daughter's. Isn't everyday kids day?

What is it, you ask?  Well, it's an adorable little chap stick holder. It's great for a party favor or just a little fun way to package up a little gift for the sweet little girl in your life. So bright and cheerful it is sure to bring a smile to any little girl.

Here's the inside. I stamped the little message on the inside and then used the Stampin' Write markers to "color" the word love and the doodles around the words. Just that little big of color makes a world of difference with how the finished project looks.

I love the color combination; pool party, calypso coral and lemon lime twist (my new favorite color). The set I used is the Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set. Let's Appreciate Our Kindergarten Teachers

It's Friday. It was a short week at school but why do these short weeks feel longer than the full weeks? Doesn't make sense to me. Then again, a lot of things baffle me, lol. Anyway, another Friday means another great post with the Sisters in Stamping. Today is Kindergarten teacher appreciation day and we are sharing some gift ideas for teachers with all of you. Let me tell you as a frequent substitute teacher in kindergarten classrooms, we need to show these teachers more appreciation than we do. They work hard to teach and mold these young little minds.

For my project, I decorated an empty clear mount stamp case that now holds a junior legal pad. Something every teacher can certainly use. Plus, most teachers are addicted to tablets, pens, or anything stationery.

What I do is cut one piece of designer paper the entire length and width of the stamp case. Then, I cut one that is half the width, and another one that is one and a half inch wide.  Then I made a small focal point with the basket and the greeting. These are great gifts for so many people. The nice thing about these is that they fit nicely in many purses and the case protects the tablet from getting all "smashed" up in your purse.

Here's the inside. I always take a piece of the designer paper that matches one from the outside of the case and use it to cover the top of the legal pad. It looks so finished and brings it all together nicely.

The junior legal pads are just a bit too long for the cases so I just take them to a local office supply store and have them cut a bunch of them at one time for a small fee.

Do You Have Your Valentine Treats Ready?

Happy Friday to you. This week at Sisters in Stamping we are sharing with you some Valentine's treats that you can make for your loved ones. I know we all love a good chocolate bar so I decided to focus on the chocolate and decorate around it. That's how a great project starts, around chocolate, right?

I started with a 3 1/4" x 11" piece of real red cardstock and then scored it at 6" and 6 1/4". I also scored it at 10" so there would be a little flap that could fold over and add a cute little touch. I used the white satin ribbon to add a nice little touch. The sending love designer series paper stack is great to make these. I used two 3"x 3" pieces of the heart paper to decorate the front of the pocket and the top half of the pocket. To hold it closed I used a small amount of tear and tape (about 1" just behind the flap portion). I also used the tear and tape under the flap to hold that in place.

The sweetheart punch is a quick and easy tool to finish off your treat with a polka dot heart (from the sending love paper) and the dazzling diamonds glimmer paper. I also used the heart border punch to add a little red glimmer heart to the center of the dazzling diamonds heart.

And the side view for you.  These are perfect to make multiple of with having minimal scraps leftover too. Plus, they are super quick and easy. Oh, let's not forget adorable.

Lift Me Up & Take Me Away

Today I bring a fun treat that is super easy to make. I've shared a different one back in December (Christmas theme). This one today features the fun hot air balloons that are in the Occasions catalog and the coordinating paper that is in the Sale-a-bration brochure. I love the hot air balloons. One day I am going to go up in one. Yep, that's certainly on my bucket list. I think it may be a little frightening at first but oh so marvelous after that initial feeling of what the heck am I doing this for. Anyone up for a hot air balloon ride?

You start by covering some little nuggets of chocolate with a 1" x 3" piece of designer series paper. For this one I used two different patterns, but you can use 5 different (one for each chocolate) or use all the same. The choice is yours while the options abound.  I then cut a piece of coordinating cardstock (watermelon wonder) to 5" x 2" and score it 1/4" on each of the long sides to make a little "plate" for the chocolate to rest on before placing it in the cello bag. Honestly, these look adorable even without the tag if you needed a super quick and easy little treat/favor for a party.

Just a close up of the tag, so you can see all the fine details. Stamp the clouds all over 3/4 of the tag. Leave the bottom half blank.  Cut about 3/4" x 2" piece of gray dotted designer paper and a 1/2" x 2" piece of the little hot air balloon paper for the bottom portion of the tag. Then stamp and use the framelits to cut out the little thank you and notes. The hot air balloon is colored with markers and then cut out with the framelits.  The hot air balloon and the thank you are attached with dimensionals. (My favorite)
