Do You Have Your Valentine Treats Ready?

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Friday to you. This week at Sisters in Stamping we are sharing with you some Valentine's treats that you can make for your loved ones. I know we all love a good chocolate bar so I decided to focus on the chocolate and decorate around it. That's how a great project starts, around chocolate, right?

I started with a 3 1/4" x 11" piece of real red cardstock and then scored it at 6" and 6 1/4". I also scored it at 10" so there would be a little flap that could fold over and add a cute little touch. I used the white satin ribbon to add a nice little touch. The sending love designer series paper stack is great to make these. I used two 3"x 3" pieces of the heart paper to decorate the front of the pocket and the top half of the pocket. To hold it closed I used a small amount of tear and tape (about 1" just behind the flap portion). I also used the tear and tape under the flap to hold that in place.

The sweetheart punch is a quick and easy tool to finish off your treat with a polka dot heart (from the sending love paper) and the dazzling diamonds glimmer paper. I also used the heart border punch to add a little red glimmer heart to the center of the dazzling diamonds heart.

Here's a close up of the hearts.

And the side view for you.  These are perfect to make multiple of with having minimal scraps leftover too. Plus, they are super quick and easy. Oh, let's not forget adorable.

Lift Me Up & Take Me Away

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today I bring a fun treat that is super easy to make. I've shared a different one back in December (Christmas theme). This one today features the fun hot air balloons that are in the Occasions catalog and the coordinating paper that is in the Sale-a-bration brochure. I love the hot air balloons. One day I am going to go up in one. Yep, that's certainly on my bucket list. I think it may be a little frightening at first but oh so marvelous after that initial feeling of what the heck am I doing this for. Anyone up for a hot air balloon ride?

You start by covering some little nuggets of chocolate with a 1" x 3" piece of designer series paper. For this one I used two different patterns, but you can use 5 different (one for each chocolate) or use all the same. The choice is yours while the options abound.  I then cut a piece of coordinating cardstock (watermelon wonder) to 5" x 2" and score it 1/4" on each of the long sides to make a little "plate" for the chocolate to rest on before placing it in the cello bag. Honestly, these look adorable even without the tag if you needed a super quick and easy little treat/favor for a party.

Just a close up of the tag, so you can see all the fine details. Stamp the clouds all over 3/4 of the tag. Leave the bottom half blank.  Cut about 3/4" x 2" piece of gray dotted designer paper and a 1/2" x 2" piece of the little hot air balloon paper for the bottom portion of the tag. Then stamp and use the framelits to cut out the little thank you and notes. The hot air balloon is colored with markers and then cut out with the framelits.  The hot air balloon and the thank you are attached with dimensionals. (My favorite)

What type of party do you have coming up that this would be a great little treat for? How about Valentine's day for your friends, family and coworkers. The new designer series paper stack for Valentine's day would be great.

Did Someone Say Pic a Nic Basket?

Hello Stamping Friends,

That's right a little Yogi Bear coming out today. And yes, I said I made a pic a nic basket. You will love it, I promise.

Today's posting from the Sisters in Stamping is all about 3D projects. It's always fun to create a paper craft gift or container that you can give to a friend or use as a party favor. Be sure to check out the blog for more 3D projects, you will love them.

I am sharing with you a picnic basket made using the berry basket die that you can find in the Occasions Catalog. I'll share a few more projects with you over the next few days that also use the berry basket die. I think you will love the versatility of this die after you see what you can make with it.

Isn't is the cutest thing ever. Perfect compliment to any barbecue you will be hosting this summer. Cute to hold some treats for the guests to take home or just put a few out with some goodies for the guests to enjoy while at your barbecue.  I added the handle and the lid to the already adorable berry basket to make this picnic basket.

I attached the lid using the modern label punch and some brads. Now thinking about it, I would change the hinges to early espresso so it would look more like leather. Wouldn't that look even better? For the lid I just measured the opening on the top of the basket and cut a square that size. I then stamped it and folded it in half to make the lid look like that. I thought it looked too dull being a flat lid.

Here it is opened. Isn't the red polka dotted liner the icing on the cake?  I love how it looks all finished and put together. I know if I went to a party and got to take one of these beauties home with me at the end, it would be the best thing ever. So, who's having the party, making these as party favors and of course, inviting me?

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more great 3D project ideas.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check in over the next few days for more berry basket ideas.

Love Me Some Big Shot

Hello Stamping Friends,

Brrr, baby it's cold outside! For those of you here in Northeast PA (NEPA) you already know that. I am okay with the two hour delay from school because of it though. It's nice to get up and relax a little bit before you have to run out the door for school. Plus, it still counts as a school day towards the 180 we need so that's a good thing. Try to stay warm. Bundle up if you're heading out. (That's my public service announcement for you)

It's Friday again and you all know what that means: Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are sharing with you some projects made using new Big Shot items from the Occasions Catalog. And there's plenty of them for you. I think we can do this challenge a few weeks in a row without duplicating. I seriously don't know how I ever crafted without my Big Shot. I love, love, love it!

I decided to use the Thinlits treat bag and some framelits and the Hello You Thinlits. Yep, I couldn't just pick one to show you. Besides, look how well they all go together to make this adorable little birthday gift/treat bag! I have to say, I think this is one of the best seasonal catalogs we've had in awhile. I love so many of the products in it (What? You still don't have your own copy of it? Let me know and I'll get one to you)

Wouldn't you love to receive a little birthday gift  in this bag? Or give this to someone with a gift inside and watch their face be pleasantly surprised before even opening the contents just because of this adorable little gift bag?

I'll be doing a class on different ways to use this die (aka different things to make, not just a bag) soon so watch your calendar. You're not going to want to miss this one.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more great ideas using new big shot items from the Occasions Catalog.
