The moment you have been waiting for

Hello Stamping Friends,

I'm so excited about this weekend. It is the moment you have been waiting for all year long. The new catalog makes it's big debut at my Open House this Saturday (2-5pm) and Sunday (12-2pm). Be sure to drop by sometime during those hours to pick up your catalog, see same samples made using new product and take part in the BOGO sale I'm holding.  See you this weekend. If you can't make it be sure to contact me so we can get your new catalog in your hands.

Now onto Fabulous Friday. This week the sisters in stamping decided we just HAD to go with new stuff for the week. We're itching to make things with the new stuff we were able to preorder and get before anyone else can order. (See don't you want to be a demonstrator? It's only $50 to join right now. Ask me more about it.)

I loved the look of this set, Traveler, and just had to have it right away. I knew it also went perfectly with the large map background stamp, World Map. Wasn't I right? I couldn't stop myself at just using a new stamp set, could I? Absolutely not. I needed to use new in-colors and some new designer series paper. I tore the entire edge of the designer paper to make it look a little more aged and tattered. You know, like it was travelling the world.

Don't forget to jump on over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see more great samples using new stamps and accessories.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: Traveler & World Map
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon and  Mossy Meadow (All NEW in-colors)
Paper: Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon & Whisper White Cardstock & Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack

Hello Stamping Friends,

So, who wants one of these? Yes, it's the cover of the new 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! catalog and it's jammed packed with great new stamps, colors (in-colors), accessories, and plenty of samples to inspire you.

Let me know if you would like one and I'll be sure to reserve your copy. Come to either of my events on May 31 or June 1 and you will get to take your copy home with some other little goodies that yu won't want to miss out on.

Are you excited? Doesn't just seeing the cover make you want to dive in and see all the awesome goodness contained within? You won't be sorry, it's a great catalog.

Flowers are Blooming

Hello Stamping Friends,

Flowers are blooming everywhere. Even my lilac tree (that rooted itself from a thrown away branch form picked flowers over 10 years ago. Good thing the garbage can got knocked over that week) is finally blooming. I had 1 lilac on it two years ago and I was so excited. I wouldn't even cut it off to bring in the house. I just went outside to see and smell that one little bloom. Then last year, nothing, nada, zip, so imagine my joy this year when there are over a dozen blooms on it. I just can't wait for them to open up. Any day it will happen and I'm ready for it.

Today I'm always sharing with you another beautiful set of flowers that will last much longer than any bloom you will find outside. Well, maybe not as long, depending on who's around and having a sweet tooth. I made this cute little centerpiece to welcome Spring awhile ago and have been enjoying it. I made flowers using the spiral flower die (in the Occasions catalog) and put a lollipop in the center of them to make this arrangement.

It will certainly brighten up any desk or table. These would be a great centerpiece for a party you may be having or a unique gift. Jonah gave one to his teacher for teacher appreciation week.

There are ten flowers in this pot. The nice thing is that you can take the lollipop out and if you want you can keep the paper flower part and replenish as needed. Your pot can always be full of blooms.

Notice here, I even embossed the flowers to give them some added texture. Some of them when rolling them into flower have the dots embossed on the outside and some are on the inside,  (strawberry slush is on the outside and the crisp cantaloupe) which just adds to the fun and overall look of the finished pot of flowers.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: None
Ink: None
Paper: Summer Starfruit, Wisteria Wonder, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush,  Pool Party
Accessories: Big Shot, Spiral Flower Die, Lots of Dots Embossing Folder, Daffodil Delight Chevron ribbon, 1/8 circle punch. Non- Stampin' Up! items: Clay pot, green shredded paper filler, Styrofoam disc, hot glue, glue gun

All about the Mr. & Mrs.

Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope you are staying dry on this rainy, rainy Friday. I'm just so glad it's Friday. I get to stamp the weekend away with some great ladies. A wonderful club gathering tomorrow with some awesome ladies. We always share a ton of laughs and have a great time. On Sunday, the fun continues with my fringe scissor class. (Which, by the way, I have a few openings so if you didn't get a chance to RSVP, let me know) I have some fun projects planned for that day that you will absolutely love.

Well, for now let's get back to Friday. Fabulous Friday, that is. This week the Sisters in Stamping have decided to take one more look at some retiring stamps. Hard to believe, but there is less than two weeks left to the current catalog. That means, if you haven't got everything checked off your wishlist, you need to look it over again and get those retiring stamps and accessories now. (I have an order going in on Monday, so if you want to add your order on let me know)

I used the retiring Mr. & Mrs. stamp for this elegant  wedding card. I guess, you can probably use it for an anniversary card, too. I'm thinking, especially that "silver" anniversary. This is such a pretty card in person and anyone would love to receive it. It comes together pretty quickly as well. All you need is some punches, a big shot folder, one stamp, one ink pad and let's not forget those dimensionals. The key to this card is the layers. Adding several layers really makes the card. If you ever make and card and say to yourself, "Hmmm, something's missing." Just try adding a layer because a lot of times that is all that is needed and changes the overall look of the card.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamp: Mr. & Mrs.
Ink: Silver Encore Ink
Paper: Whisper White cardstock & Silver Foil Paper
Accessories: Bird Punch, Small Heart Punch, Basic Pearls, Big Shot, Beautifully Baroque embossing folder, snail adhesive & dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for some more last minute retiring stamps ideas.

Clearly a Winner

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's Friday already. Time certainly passes by so quickly anymore. You know when it's Friday that there is a great challenge from the Sisters in Stamping. Today's challenge was to use a window sheet in your project. You're not going to want to miss checking out the other Sister's projects this week.

I used a 5" x 10" piece of a window sheet to make this card. You score the 10" side at 5". Using a bone folder on this card makes it so much easier to get a crisp, clean score mark. Using the white staz-on ink you can stamp right onto the window sheet. Don't try it with whisper white craft pad. It will never dry. The staz-on pads are designed to dry on non-porous surfaces.

If you look closely you will see the tangerine tango and whisper white cardstock are actually attached to the inside of the card. The daffodil delight and watercolor wonder designer series paper is attached to the outside of the card.  The flowers are stamped with whisper white craft ink and then punched out. Remember to "curl" the edges of your petals to give them more life. There are actually two of each color flower. They are held together with a dimensional. The pearl is the perfect finishing touch.

This is just a flat view of the card with it closed. These window sheet cards are so pretty and elegant to give for any special occasion.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more ideas using the window sheets.

Stamping Supplies Used:

Ink: White Staz-on and Whisper White Craft ink
Paper: Window Sheet, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo and Whisper White Cardstock and Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper

An Oldie but Goodie

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today I'm sharing with you a card that we made at my last Yurinkin' Stamp Addicts team meeting. It was designed and shared by team member, Patti H. If you have ever thought about or wanted to get more information on what it is like to be associated with the greatest company around, join us for a team meeting to hear more about it. May's get together will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Contact me for more information if you are interested. There are some many great reasons to join the family. Discounts, ability to preorder before anyone else, make some extra money, all the latest and greatest stamping ideas at your finger tips and so much more.

So now onto the card (I know there's a name for this technique, but at the moment, it has completely slipped my mind, sorry!). We embossed the line of trees from Lovely as a Tree (this set is around since 2001, when I joined the Stampin' Up! family) on both white cardstock using black embossing power and on black cardstock with white embossing powder. After both pieces are embossed you cut it down the middle (this way you can easily line up the trees on your card and you will get to make two different cards) and place one half of the black and the opposite half of the white onto your card front.

The butterfly is just punched and sponged with some white ink to add definition. It is also attached with a dimensional. The silver baker's twine is knotted in a few places just to give it a different look. The birthday greeting from Teeny tiny Wishes was stamped first and then punched out. I'm telling you, that makes life so much easier. Trust me.

Here's a picture of the what the other card's trees would look like. See, just the opposite of the finished card. The real key to making this card with ease is to make sure you cut both the white and the black at the same spot so it lines up easily. For the line of trees, you just cut down the trunk of the third tree from the left.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Versamark and Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Always Artichoke, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black & Whisper White
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Black embossing powder, Heat gun, Elegant Butterfly punch, dimensionals, silver baker's twine, snail adhesive, paper trimmer
