Time to Get a Little Punchy

Remember to Create!

Hello Stamping Friends,

This week the Sisters in Stamping are focusing on punches. Not crazy, cool things that you can make that are "out-of-the-box" ideas, but cards that use punches on them. Punches make creating so quick and easy. No cutting out detailed images when you have a punch that can do it in one quick squeeze. So now it's time to get punchy. I hope you enjoy this card. It was fun to make.

Isn't it pretty? I used the Bird Ballad designer series paper for my card and added a little bling with some glimmer paper and even some pretty little pearls to make this little beauty. It's a great card to send a friend or family member to let them know you just wanted to say "hello."

I started with a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock. I scored it at 4" on one side and then just because it's easier, I flipped it and scored it at 2". Then I just cut the designer paper to fit the two flaps. I punched the circle punch with the middle of the punch on the score line. I then placed the circle back in the hole and placed the white cardstock insert over it (be sure to add adhesive to the bottom half of the circle so it stick to the insert).

I then stamped the bird and punched it out with a slightly smaller circle punch so it layers nicely.  Then you decorate the closed card however you want. I added two banners, one from glimmer paper for some extra layers and interest. I also used another punch, timeless punch, to stamp the greeting on and two cute little flowers with pearl centers.

It was such a fun card to make. Think of all the possibilities you can create when you switch them up.

All about the Mr. & Mrs.

Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope you are staying dry on this rainy, rainy Friday. I'm just so glad it's Friday. I get to stamp the weekend away with some great ladies. A wonderful club gathering tomorrow with some awesome ladies. We always share a ton of laughs and have a great time. On Sunday, the fun continues with my fringe scissor class. (Which, by the way, I have a few openings so if you didn't get a chance to RSVP, let me know) I have some fun projects planned for that day that you will absolutely love.

Well, for now let's get back to Friday. Fabulous Friday, that is. This week the Sisters in Stamping have decided to take one more look at some retiring stamps. Hard to believe, but there is less than two weeks left to the current catalog. That means, if you haven't got everything checked off your wishlist, you need to look it over again and get those retiring stamps and accessories now. (I have an order going in on Monday, so if you want to add your order on let me know)

I used the retiring Mr. & Mrs. stamp for this elegant  wedding card. I guess, you can probably use it for an anniversary card, too. I'm thinking, especially that "silver" anniversary. This is such a pretty card in person and anyone would love to receive it. It comes together pretty quickly as well. All you need is some punches, a big shot folder, one stamp, one ink pad and let's not forget those dimensionals. The key to this card is the layers. Adding several layers really makes the card. If you ever make and card and say to yourself, "Hmmm, something's missing." Just try adding a layer because a lot of times that is all that is needed and changes the overall look of the card.

Stamping Supplies Used:

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for some more last minute retiring stamps ideas.

A couple of Valentine's for You

Happy Valentine's Day! I thought I would show you a few Valentine's on this special day.

Below is a card made using Stampin' Up!'s I (Heart) Hearts set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I didn't use the traditional red, pink and white Valentine's colors for this card. Instead I used three of the In-Colors, bermuda bay, crushed curry and melon mambo. I think this is a fun card that any kid would love to receive. Of course, they would love it even more if you snuck a little cash inside for them.

The next card is perfect for any "lovebirds" It uses the awesome new 2 step extra large bird punch also found in the Occasions mini catalog. This card goes together very quickly. I used the designer series paper, Welcome Neighbor from the Sale-a-bration brochure (which BTW you can still get for FREE with any qualifying order of $50 or more through the end of March).

Hope you enjoyed these two cards and that inspired you to go create some for yourself.

Have a Happy Valentine's Day! Kiss and hug the ones you love.
