Memorial Day Sale

Hello Stamping Friends,

Memorial Day is a time of remembrance for all that military personnel have done for us by sacrificing and giving their lives. I think Memorial Day is also a time to make new memories. Memories of scrapbooking or giving a handmade card to someone special. So in honor of Memorial Day, I have just decided to run a Memorial Day Special and wanted to let you know about it. It will run from today through Monday at 7:00 PM.

You will receive a discount on your order. The amount of the discount will depend on what you are ordering. See below.

All orders up to $50 will receive a 10% discount

All orders between $50.01 and $99.99 will recieve a 15% discouunt

All orders over $100 will receive a 20% discount

All orders over $150 will receive a 20% discount, a minimum of $15 hostess credit and at least a Level 1 hostess set of choice. Added bonus for all $150 orders is that the order will be shipped direct to your door.

**This special does not apply to previous orders or workshop orders. All totals for discounts are before shipping and tax are applied. This promotion is only available through Rachel Yurkanin.

Remember after Monday all retiring colors are not guaranteed to be available. This is a great time to stock up on your refills and cardstock of your favorite colors that will soon be gone.

I hope you have a great weekend with your friends and family making memories to last a lifetime. And be sure to take a moment to  remember what this holiday is really all about.

Time to Simply Scrapbook

Time to Simply Scrapbook. Today at Sisters in Stamping we are focusing on Simply Scrappin' Kits. If you have tons of pictures (which I think most of us do) you will love Stampin' Up!'s Simply Scrapbook kits. They come with textured cardstock, designer series paper, and many, many great self-adhesive die cuts to create quick, easy, simply beautiful cards, scrapbook pages and much more.

I made a really quick scrapbook page for this week's challenge using the Sunny Day kit which can be found on page 164 in the  2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalog.

I personally love how bright this kit is.  It literally took me just a few minutes to put this together. Hardest part is coming up with the layout and cutting the cardstock and designer paper to the size you want it.  As  you can see I didn't use anything else but the kit.

Be sure to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what the other sisters created using their Simply Scrappin' kit.

Be sure to join us next week when we look at Father's Day/Masculine ideas.  We can all use more of those, can't we?

Friday, Already???

I simply don't know where the time goes. I must be having a ton of fun. You know, "time flies when you're having fun?"  Just sad that I can't remember all these great times. LOL  Anyway, it is Friday, again. So that means a Fabulous Friday posting for you.  This week's challenge for Sisters in Stamping was flowers. You know, May Flowers?  So I sat back and was thinking what do I want to do for this challenge. And it came to me rather quickly because I have been making tons of these flowers the past few weeks. I even went in to Jonah's kindergarten class yesterday and they made these flowers too. So it was only natural to continue in my current ways.

So what do you think of my Spring flowers?  I have been using the Flower Layers #3 Originals Die so much lately. I definitely got my money's worth out of it.  Here's what I do: I cut chipboard and Designer Series Paper to the size of the die. I then glue the paper using the "green" glue (Tombo Multi Adhesive) to the chipboard. Wait a bit for the glue to dry and then run that through my Big Shot. (Thank you Stampin' Up! for the Big Shot. I love mine.)

Then I attach a small flower to a larger flower (in most cases) using the "green" glue. I then punch circles using the 1" and the 3/4" circle punches and layer those onto the flower. Then I add one of the little centers that pop out when you die cut them to finish off the flower.  Once I have that all together, I go over the whole flower with crystal effects. Now remember, no heat setting the crystal effects so you need to be patient and not touch your flower for several hours. Trust me: Don't be tempted either because you will leave your "print" on the flower. (Your fingerprint, that is)  Once that is finished you can attach a magnet to the back, a pin, or you can attach it directly to something else, like the clipboard. See Below.

For this cute desk ensemble, I attached magnets to the small flowers and then stuck them to cute little jars. You can fill the jars with rubber bands, paper clips, mints, coins, or whatever else you can fit in there.

The large flower sitting in front of the clipboard is a magnet as well. Make several of these to keep all your special notes all in one spot.  Remember the small flower on the jar is also a magnet so you can use that on a magnet board as well.  Hope you have enjoyed my projects this week. They are fun, easy and pretty quick to make. Have fun making your own.

Remember to stop by the Sisters in Stamping blog to see the projects the other sisters created using flowers.

Time to Skate

Wanted to post more this week but had a crazy, busy, fun week with other demonstrators. Tuesday night was Dawn Rapsas' Dream Night event where Shelli Gardner, cofounder of Stampin' Up! was there. I helped Dawn get ready for the event and even did a demonstration that evening. I will share more of that with you over the next few days. It was a great time.

But for today, I need to focus on the Sisters in Stamping challenge for this week. We were to use one of the sets from this month's special. I decided to use Extreme Elements (p 81 of the Idea Book & Catalog) and the Star Designer Brads (p 179) on a scrapbook page. Did you remember it is National Scrapbook Month?

I actually took a card that I used for my son's birthday invitation as inspiration for this page. Notice the stamped skater image on the bottom right hand corner is the very similar to the actual invite we gave out.

I used the Varsity Alphabet on our Twill Ribbon to create the title for this page. It gives it a fun look, yet still looks great for a boy page.  Don't forget to check out the May Special. There is a button on the side of my blog. Click on it and it will give you all the details.  Here are the extremely condensed version of the promotion: Purchase one of 11 sets and receive one package of Designer brads FREE.

Now all I need to do is print some pictures of Noah with his new skateboard to fill this page up.

Don't forget to hop on over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see how the other sisters used items from this month's special.

What a Sweet Day!

Welcome back friends.  It's Friday again and there, of course, is another Fabulous Friday challenge over at Sisters in Stamping. This week we were to use one of the new stamp sets from the Summer Mini Catalog called Sweet Scoops. Who doesn't love ice cream in the Summer? This set is a must have, in my ever so humble opinion, anyway. LOL

If you didn't receive you copy of the Summer Mini Catalog, contact me today and I'll get one out to you.

Isn't this card just adorable? I love the way it turned out. It uses the ice cream cone in a non-conventional way, upside-down. Who wants ice cream upside-down? Not me, but look how cute those little party bears are.  I also used some dazzling diamonds glitter on the "tassle" (aka cherry) to make them sparkle.  I also used the awesome new Designer Series Paper, Island Oasis for the background. I think it's a great party paper.  The bears cute little faces are just hand-drawn using a basic black Stampin' Write Marker.  Guess what, the bears are also on the card using ....... dimensionals. Although I'm sure most of you knew that already. (Big Grin).

Don't forget to go check out what the other sisters created using this great new set, Sweet Scoops, over at the Sisters in Stamping Blog. You're going to love what they've done.

As always, thanks for stopping by. Leave a comment if you'd like.  Have a wonderful day.
