Fathers Day Blog Hop

Hello Stamping Friends,

Father's Day is around the corner and today's blog hop will be perfect for you to get those creative juices flowing. Be sure to click the links below to keep hopping.

I didn't go with the traditional "Happy Fathers Day" sentiment on my card. I used a "Thinking of You" which would be perfect to send to a dad that doesn't live close by.

When you first look at this card, you may think it's just a regular card, but I promise you it is so much more than you think.  I used the Beauty of Friendship Bundle for this card. Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper is the bottom patterned paper that fold open.  I love the little rectangle for the saying, it's a perfect die-cut.

See! The patterned paper opens up on each side. It is attached between the last two layers. Isn't that so cool? I chose this particular paper for two reasons: the colors look like fallen leaves and then the back side looks like tree bark. Perfect, if I do say so myself. And the torn edge just adds another dimension and texture to the card.

There are three little birds on the tree and they can represent dad and two children or three children. Yep, I even thought about that. So, this is with both side open. And you may think that's it, but NOPE, I have more. Keep scrolling.

Look at this, the card opens even further so you can write a beautiful, sentimental message to dad and it will be hidden from others. I love how this turned out and hope you like it and find yourself inspired too.

Share It Sunday Blog Hop

Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope your Sunday is off to a great start. It's time for a Share it Sunday blog hop. You won't want to miss out so click the link below to keep hopping and being inspired to create.

I am sharing a card made with the Healing Hugs stamp set. I really am going to miss this one. I love the rose and how beautiful it stamps each and every time.

For this card, the rose was stamped twice; once in Rococo Rose (full strength) and then a second time without reinking in order to get two different colors. The same was done with the little sprig type stamp. The leaves and greeting are both stamped in Mossy Meadow ink.

This card is held closed with this little sleeve (belly band) made from Rococo Rose cardstock. Notice the main focal point is actually attached and comes off when you take the band off. Before attaching the stamped focal point, I wrapped brown ribbon around the whole band. Both roses are cut out after stamping on scrap paper. The darker (full-strength stamped) rose is cut to just use the center.

There are some cute little embellishments that are strategically placed around the stamped focal point to add some extra pizzazz.

Here's the inside of the card completely opened up. Notice the card base is actually designer paper. Then there is a piece of vanilla cardstock stamped with a stamped-off Rococo Rose flower in the corner to bring the outside of the card to the inside to tie it all together.

Don't forget time is running out on the retiring list of stamps and other products, so if you want something you need order order now before they are gone forever.

Time to Get a Little Punchy

Remember to Create!

Hello Stamping Friends,

This week the Sisters in Stamping are focusing on punches. Not crazy, cool things that you can make that are "out-of-the-box" ideas, but cards that use punches on them. Punches make creating so quick and easy. No cutting out detailed images when you have a punch that can do it in one quick squeeze. So now it's time to get punchy. I hope you enjoy this card. It was fun to make.

Isn't it pretty? I used the Bird Ballad designer series paper for my card and added a little bling with some glimmer paper and even some pretty little pearls to make this little beauty. It's a great card to send a friend or family member to let them know you just wanted to say "hello."

I started with a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock. I scored it at 4" on one side and then just because it's easier, I flipped it and scored it at 2". Then I just cut the designer paper to fit the two flaps. I punched the circle punch with the middle of the punch on the score line. I then placed the circle back in the hole and placed the white cardstock insert over it (be sure to add adhesive to the bottom half of the circle so it stick to the insert).

I then stamped the bird and punched it out with a slightly smaller circle punch so it layers nicely.  Then you decorate the closed card however you want. I added two banners, one from glimmer paper for some extra layers and interest. I also used another punch, timeless punch, to stamp the greeting on and two cute little flowers with pearl centers.

It was such a fun card to make. Think of all the possibilities you can create when you switch them up.
