Let's Hear it for the Red, White, & Blue

Time for another round with the Sisters in Stamping. This week's theme is Red, White, & Blue. Great time to remember what our founding fathers here in the U.S. of A. wanted for our country for a long time to come.

I decided to make a little treat to give to my grandson for this week's challenge. A treat bag full of M&M's is surely going to make anyone happy. You may be wondering where I got the treat bag from since Stampin' Up! only sells 6x8 cello bags now. Well, we do have another cello item that worked perfectly: a clear envelope. Pretty neat, right?  I just filled it with the candy and then sealed it by folding it down where I wanted it to end and creased the fold pretty hard by running my fingernails over it a few times.

I then used Pacific Point, Real Red, and Basic White to make a "flag" for the topper of my card. The Stitchery set is a perfect set to make the lines of the flag. You even have 8 different stitch lines to choose from to make your flag unique. The little star came from the Hats Off set and the "happy" came from the Biggest Wish set. I've used that one a lot lately. I really think it's my favorite greeting set this year. We don't have any stamps that say fourth of July or anything close, so I used the "happy" and then die cut the "4th" using the Playful Alphabets dies. I really liked using those because it added an extra dimension rather than just stamping anyway.

Of course, I had to fill it with some coordinating M&M's. I love how they really coordinate with the Stampin' Up! colors I used. Glad they could work together so perfectly.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoyed are are inspired.

National Son's and Daughter's Day: Say What????

Hello Stamping Friends,

Welcome to another great Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. Today is National Celebrate Son's and Daughter's Day, so we decided to share projects/cards with you that are kid centered.  Not so sure my sons would like this project, but it is great for girls. I'm not even sure we need a day for son's and daughter's. Isn't everyday kids day?

What is it, you ask?  Well, it's an adorable little chap stick holder. It's great for a party favor or just a little fun way to package up a little gift for the sweet little girl in your life. So bright and cheerful it is sure to bring a smile to any little girl.

Here's the inside. I stamped the little message on the inside and then used the Stampin' Write markers to "color" the word love and the doodles around the words. Just that little big of color makes a world of difference with how the finished project looks.

I love the color combination; pool party, calypso coral and lemon lime twist (my new favorite color). The set I used is the Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set. It's this year's Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set. Did you know that $3 from the sale of each set goes directly to the Ronald McDonald House Charity? What a great cause and a bonus for you because not only do you donate a little bit, but you also get a great stamp set to use.

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping to see more great projects in honor of kids.

Did Someone Say Pic a Nic Basket?

Hello Stamping Friends,

That's right a little Yogi Bear coming out today. And yes, I said I made a pic a nic basket. You will love it, I promise.

Today's posting from the Sisters in Stamping is all about 3D projects. It's always fun to create a paper craft gift or container that you can give to a friend or use as a party favor. Be sure to check out the blog for more 3D projects, you will love them.

I am sharing with you a picnic basket made using the berry basket die that you can find in the Occasions Catalog. I'll share a few more projects with you over the next few days that also use the berry basket die. I think you will love the versatility of this die after you see what you can make with it.

Isn't is the cutest thing ever. Perfect compliment to any barbecue you will be hosting this summer. Cute to hold some treats for the guests to take home or just put a few out with some goodies for the guests to enjoy while at your barbecue.  I added the handle and the lid to the already adorable berry basket to make this picnic basket.

I attached the lid using the modern label punch and some brads. Now thinking about it, I would change the hinges to early espresso so it would look more like leather. Wouldn't that look even better? For the lid I just measured the opening on the top of the basket and cut a square that size. I then stamped it and folded it in half to make the lid look like that. I thought it looked too dull being a flat lid.

Here it is opened. Isn't the red polka dotted liner the icing on the cake?  I love how it looks all finished and put together. I know if I went to a party and got to take one of these beauties home with me at the end, it would be the best thing ever. So, who's having the party, making these as party favors and of course, inviting me?

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more great 3D project ideas.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check in over the next few days for more berry basket ideas.

Love Me Some Big Shot

Hello Stamping Friends,

Brrr, baby it's cold outside! For those of you here in Northeast PA (NEPA) you already know that. I am okay with the two hour delay from school because of it though. It's nice to get up and relax a little bit before you have to run out the door for school. Plus, it still counts as a school day towards the 180 we need so that's a good thing. Try to stay warm. Bundle up if you're heading out. (That's my public service announcement for you)

It's Friday again and you all know what that means: Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are sharing with you some projects made using new Big Shot items from the Occasions Catalog. And there's plenty of them for you. I think we can do this challenge a few weeks in a row without duplicating. I seriously don't know how I ever crafted without my Big Shot. I love, love, love it!

I decided to use the Thinlits treat bag and some framelits and the Hello You Thinlits. Yep, I couldn't just pick one to show you. Besides, look how well they all go together to make this adorable little birthday gift/treat bag! I have to say, I think this is one of the best seasonal catalogs we've had in awhile. I love so many of the products in it (What? You still don't have your own copy of it? Let me know and I'll get one to you)

Wouldn't you love to receive a little birthday gift  in this bag? Or give this to someone with a gift inside and watch their face be pleasantly surprised before even opening the contents just because of this adorable little gift bag?

I'll be doing a class on different ways to use this die (aka different things to make, not just a bag) soon so watch your calendar. You're not going to want to miss this one.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more great ideas using new big shot items from the Occasions Catalog.
