National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's Friday!!!!!! Woohoo. Any big plans for the weekend? This weekend is pretty busy for us here in the Yurkanin house. It starts with a Girl's Night Out for me tonight, soccer game and wedding tomorrow and Sunday there's a few options but we haven't committed to anything particular yet. I love busy summer weekends. But first, we need to focus on Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are sharing cards using Chocolate Chip since it is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day today. Be sure to get out and get some chocolate chip cookies (or bake your own).

Today's card was a card that we recently made at the July Stamp a Stash class. The baby bear stamp set is a great set. The bear is stamped in three different layers (yep, three different ink pad colors) and you literally watch him come to life as you stamp each layer.  For this bear, I stamped the first layer in crumb cake, then the second layer is soft suede and the final layer is chocolate chip.

This is a pretty quick card that you can make if you need a baby card and don't have one on hand. It really only takes a few minutes to put it all together. The designer paper I used was Coffee Break. I love that you can use  many of the designer series paper for other things than the stamp set that it was made to coordinate with. The polka dot paper in the set is also another great option for this card. The blues and greens in the paper make a perfect boy baby card.

I stamped the greeting on the Chocolate chip paper in whisper white ink. A simple greeting that is just perfect for welcoming a new baby.  The bear is cut out and attached to the card using (my favorite) dimensionals.

If you switch the paper up with some pinks or purples you have a great girl baby card. Also, try the bear in colors other than brown and they are just as adorable.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping to see more great ideas using Chocolate Chip paper and ink in honor of National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day.

Thanks for visiting.
