Fun Fold with the Sisters in Stamping

Hello Stamping Friends,

So glad you decided to join me again. I know I have been a bit absent lately and I hope you accept my apologies. It is a super crazy time in the Yurkanin house right now. It's fall soccer season, back to school season. Yep, Jonah plays junior high soccer and travel soccer in the fall so we are going 6, even 7 days a week with soccer practice or games. And then we're back to school. I'm still subbing this year but there's been a bit of a twist, I'm the long term sub for kindergarten and 1st grade music. Interesting, right? It's a stretch for me as I am not a music certified teacher but I am settling in just nicely and am really enjoying it. The first week of school, I was a nervous wreck, now, it's just what I do and I think I'm doing a pretty good job considering all things.

So things are settling in, junior high soccer is almost over, and I will be back and posting more often. I know you are excited about that and I am too. Today the Sisters in Stamping are sharing cards with fun folds and I love the card I'm sharing with you.

This card was inspired by a swap card I received from my friend Melanie from Canada. She always does the most intricate, amazing projects so I wasn't surprised when the card that one of my stampers wanted to learn how to make was one of Mel's cards. I got busy figuring out the scoring and cutting for this card. Surprisingly enough it wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it might be (which made me happy).

Here it is open.  Neat, right? The whole lot of lovely designer series paper was the starting point for my card. Then added the Garden in Bloom stamp set. I love how soft and soothing this card turned out. The person receiving this card will treasure it for a long time.

The attention to detail, cut out flowers, layers of cardstock and designer paper and the little fluttering butterfly makes it a gift in itself. The recipient will know jut how special they are to you after they receive this beauty.

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping for more fun folds.

Thanks for stopping by.

Last Day for a Great Special

Hello Stamping Friends,

You know today is the last day for the special I have been running for the last week. Part of the special is that you can earn a raffle ticket for the Balloon Adventure bundle. Today's card was made using the bundle. Check out Saturday's post which had a video using the bundle if you haven't already.

A pop up card is a card that is loved by anyone of any age, it's not just for kids. Imagine the surprise on their face when they open the card and it moves. It's just so much fun and birthdays should be full of fun and surprises.

The dies for this bundle make it simple to make a pop up because it even creases the inside in the appropriate spots. The little banner inside is great for a greeting too.

I have a special treat just for you. I am away this week. You know while the cat's away, the mice will play, right? Well, you are the mice and you still need to play while I'm away since I can't offer any classes. So, get out your catalogs, pick some new goodies and save while you are at it. Card or Box? Maybe both....

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today at Sisters in Stamping we are sharing with you projects made using the great Designer Series Paper Stampin' Up! offers. You won't be at a creative loss for long when you select one of the great packages of paper from the Annual Catalog or the Occasions Catalog. They make creating so easy. I love picking a designer paper when I'm stuck with color combos because I know they work together and my finished project will look just as great because the colors "go together."

I decided to share with you this card in a box. These are the hottest little projects right now. It folds flat so you can easily slip it into an envelope and send it on its way. What a treat for the recipient when they open the envelope and the box "pops up" by itself. Think baby, birthday, or any special occasion. This card will delight anyone.

This particular one uses the watercolor wonder designer series paper from the Occasions Catalog. And that's exactly where I got my color combo from for all of the butterflies. Great time of year to see colorful butterflies, isn't it?  You may be wondering how the butterflies are "flying" mid-air because it isn't very easy to see, so I will tell you. I used small strips of window sheets to attach to the card and the butterflies are attached to the other end of the window sheet. Even in person, it isn't easy to see this.

I think you may be able to see the window sheet here just a little bit. Still not easy, so this makes it the perfect solution to "suspend" things in air on all your projects.  Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping to see more great ideas using the best designer series paper around.
