Warm Weather = Birds

Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope you have been enjoying these past few days for way above normal temperatures for February. I know I have been loving them. Almost all the crazy snow we got while we were away on vacation (BTW, that's  rude awakening to come home to after being in sunny Arizona) is just about melted. That is a great sight. I know we will probably get one more storm before it's all said and done but it's so much easier to deal with (mentally, that is) when there is not a huge accumulation already waiting to melt.

This week at Sisters in stamping the theme goes right along with the warmer temperatures (and it was planned weeks ago, so we had no way of knowing). It's all about the birds this week.

I used the Pop of Paradise flamingo for my card. Flamingo's = warm weather so I'm sticking with it. What better color to use for the card but Flirty Flamingo too. Just can't help it.  There's so much I love about this card, the pink, black and white color combo and the polka dots on the background that are embossed are of course my top two reasons. I know, I know, you know me too well and could have said that without me sharing it.

The background behind the flamingo is just a watercolor wash using some flirty flamingo ink and an aqua painter. Easy peasy!  It really is an easy card to duplicate and it will be loved by anyone.

Be sure to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more great bird ideas. Thanks for stopping by.

A Little Sneak Peek

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Friday to you. I think this is one Friday that I didn't want to come. It's the BIG day. The day I take my "little" boy to college. Where in the world did the time go? I told him to stop growing up years ago, he just wouldn't listen. Little brat! lol  I'm so excited for him to start his new adventure but as mom, I'm just so sad that my boy won't be home everyday. Good thing, I have 7 years in between Noah and Jonah so that gives me some time before I have to do it all over again. I just can't even think about it. (haha)

Anyway, because it's Friday, it also means that it's Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are giving you a little sneak peek at the Holiday catalog by sharing projects made using stamps and products that you will find in it. (Did you get your copy yet? If not, let me know and I'll get one out to you.)

So this set is a Halloween set but as you can see I used it in a non traditional way. Owls are a big thing right now in all types of home decor and baby things are not excluded. So I made a welcome baby card using blushing bride.  Pretty cute way to turn a scary Halloween set into something adorable.

Don't foreget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more sneak peek cards. You're going to love them.

A Well Blended Good Time

Hello Stamping Friends,

Dropping by quickly today to share a pretty card that uses the blendabilities markers with you. If you haven't seen these markers or better yet, used them yet, you need to get on it. They are the best markers ever. I love how you can shade with them. I love that you color and don't get any marker lines when they are dry. I just love them.

Each color set of markers comes with three markers: a light, a medium, and a dark. This really lets you color and be an artist, even if you aren't quite sure of what  you are doing. Hey, wait a minute, that's me. So that means you can do it too.

Plus they can do so much more. I'm holding monthly classes so you can see all the great things you can do with these little gems. Next class is, Wednesday, August 20 at 6:30pm. Cost of the class is $30 and you get two sets of markers included in that class fee. We will also make 3 projects. Want in? Just contact me today to reserve your spot for the class. Classes are a great time so don't miss the next one.

I used the Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities on this flower. I love this flower. It's a bit big and takes some time to color but the end result is absolutely wonderful. This was one of the projects we made at July's Blendabilities Class.

I used some Basic Rhinestones for the center of the flower.  It's difficult to see on the complete card but you can see a bit on the insert the old olive piece and the whisper white layer are embossed with the large polka dot folder. (One of my favorites, I love polka dots) The greeting is a sneak peak at a Hostess set to come in October, so book your get together for October now. Dates will fill quickly.
