Ho! Ho! Ho!

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Friday! Best day of the week, well Saturday and Sunday is pretty great too. Being that it's Friday, that means a great post with the Sisters in Stamping, as well. This week we are getting into the Christmas spirit and sharing great Christmas cards with you. Be sure to head over there if you need more ideas to finish up your cards. Unless, you are one of the lucky people that are ahead of the game and already then you will have even more ideas to begin next year's cards before this  year even ends.

This card was creating by cutting out some of the great designs from the Home for Christmas Designer Series paper to use as the focal point for the card. I mean really who wouldn't think a Christmas tree, Santa and some presents shouldn't be on the front of a card? The artwork on this paper is gorgeous and you can easily make a full card using these images. The only tedious thing may be the cutting out of the images, but since I don't mind cutting, I didn't think that was a problem. Now if I had to color all these images, that would be an entirely different story.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more great Christmas card ideas. You won't be sorry.

Happy Black Friday!

Hello Stamping Friends,

Welcome to a great Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. Today we are sharing with you some projects made using Basic Black, you know, in honor of Black Friday. What a fun theme and very appropriate I think.

Did you get any great deals shopping today? Be sure to check out my deal for you below.

I made this card using the black glitter paper for my penguin. Who wouldn't love a black, sparkly, adorable little penguin card? Plus, I believe the sentiment on the card is what we are all thinking, "It's Christmas already?"  How in the world did that happen?  Time just keeps on moving (and fast, I might add).

I just cut out the penguin using the framelits but then I had a dilemma on my hands, how do I get his cute face on the glitter?  So, I stamped the penguin from the snow friends stamp set on Whisper white paper and cut out his belly and face. I also used some red glitter paper for the candy cane and one of the banner strips hanging down the side. You know I love me some glitter.

There's a lot of texture going on with this card. Some embossing, glitter paper, foil paper, slanted cuts, banner cuts and a cute cut-out penguin. I have to say, I LOVE IT! Hope you do too.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more projects using Black for Black Friday.

We are all God's Work of Art

Hello Stamping Friends,

I am so excited to share this week's card with you for Sisters in Stamping. What was in my head actually turned out great on paper. AND that doesn't often happen. There's usually some tweaking I need to do to the original thought out design but this came together beautifully and it didn't take me long to create it either because I had the details all written down from my brainstorming session earlier this week.

Plus, it only took about 20 minutes (I know this because I had cupcakes baking in the oven while I made this card) to make late last night before I headed to bed. You know how that goes, the gotta do this, this and this before I go to bed or I simply won't sleep list. Especially if you take a few hours in a night for yourself and head to see Nancy Kerrigan's Halloween on Ice with a friend, (BTW, great show) and you know your son has a soccer tournament all weekend long and needs his gear washed and things packed. Oh, let's not forget the cupcakes I was baking to take to the tournament. Geez, why do I do this to myself. (LOL)

Anyway, this week for Fabulous Friday we are sharing cards with you with a different type of fold (or way to open them up). I settled on a great pocket card and am really happy with the finished card. Isn't it great? You begin with two half sheets of cardstock ( 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"), fold them in half and then cut one side of each piece of cardstock on a diagonal from top to bottom. Then use the tear and tape adhesive to attach these two together in the back and also to hold the "flaps" down to create the pocket. When done with that just embellish and you are done.

I used the Into the Woods designer Series Paper on the bottom half of the pocket to create the look of a tree trunk while I decided the base of my card would be old olive so that it would look more like the top of a full tree. Make sense? Stamp a few leaves, use some thinlits to cut them out and punch out an acorn to finish it off. Add some dimensionals to attach everything to the front of the card and you are good to go.

Then for the insert of the card, just cut a smaller piece of daffodil delight cardstock and an even smaller layer of very vanilla to place on top of that. Stamp a few leaves and a special saying because we truly are all God's special work of art and you have the insert to the card. I added some striped ribbon to the top to make it easier for people to understand to pull it out so you can see what's inside.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more different folds cards. You're going to love them.

Thanks for stopping by.

The Leaves are Falling (well, not yet)

Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope this sunshine day is bringing you happiness. I'm soaking up every once of it up that I can since before you know it the big "W" word will be here and we will be trapped in gray clouds for months.

Today I'm participating in a Fall Fun blog hop with my upline, Susan. So be sure to head on over to her blog when you are finished here to see what neat fall project she created. Isn't it always fun to see new ideas and more of them? That's what this blog hop is for.

I used the Bundle and Save, Among the Branches and Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the Holiday catalog to create my card. I love the embossing folder because it is versatile and not just for the fall season. I made a card for Winter with it that I will share with you another day, I promise.

I really like how this card turned out and it wasn't too complicated to make either, which is my favorite thing. I love creating but I want quick results. I guess you can call that a lack of patience. Oh well, at least I know my limitations, right?

Remember, head over to Susan's blog for more Fall Fun inspiration. Thanks for stopping by today.
