Love

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Friday the 13th to you. On this day before Valentine's Day, we, at the Sisters in Stamping blog, are sharing with you some great last minute Valentine's cards and treats. So, if you are a last minute Nellie (like myself) you came to the right place for some great ideas.

This card is pretty simple but really gives a lot of punch for a pretty, elegant card that is great not just for Valentine's Day. This would be good for a wedding card, an anniversary card or just a card to say, I love you.

I used the Groovy Love stamp set and the awesome Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Pack. Basic gray, pink pirourette and basic black make a pretty card.  I love the large polka dot embossed white piece. There is a heart punched out of the black designer paper so you can see some of the dots through that too.  I used the pink pirourette blendabilities to color the basic pearls.

Don't forget to visit Sisters in Stamping for more Valentine's ideas.

Love Me Some Big Shot

Hello Stamping Friends,

Brrr, baby it's cold outside! For those of you here in Northeast PA (NEPA) you already know that. I am okay with the two hour delay from school because of it though. It's nice to get up and relax a little bit before you have to run out the door for school. Plus, it still counts as a school day towards the 180 we need so that's a good thing. Try to stay warm. Bundle up if you're heading out. (That's my public service announcement for you)

It's Friday again and you all know what that means: Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are sharing with you some projects made using new Big Shot items from the Occasions Catalog. And there's plenty of them for you. I think we can do this challenge a few weeks in a row without duplicating. I seriously don't know how I ever crafted without my Big Shot. I love, love, love it!

I decided to use the Thinlits treat bag and some framelits and the Hello You Thinlits. Yep, I couldn't just pick one to show you. Besides, look how well they all go together to make this adorable little birthday gift/treat bag! I have to say, I think this is one of the best seasonal catalogs we've had in awhile. I love so many of the products in it (What? You still don't have your own copy of it? Let me know and I'll get one to you)

Wouldn't you love to receive a little birthday gift  in this bag? Or give this to someone with a gift inside and watch their face be pleasantly surprised before even opening the contents just because of this adorable little gift bag?

I'll be doing a class on different ways to use this die (aka different things to make, not just a bag) soon so watch your calendar. You're not going to want to miss this one.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more great ideas using new big shot items from the Occasions Catalog.

Love is Kindness Tulips

Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope you are doing wonderful today. It's almost February so hold on because Winter is closer to being over. I think although February is the shortest month of the year, it feels like the longest one. Why is that? Hmm, maybe the freezing cold, extra snowy days?

This week at Sisters in Stamping we are showing you the individual stamp, Love is Kindness. It was supposed to be any of the single stamps but somehow we all picked this stamp. Maybe because it is such an awesome one and we are all thinking Spring and tulips. It's pretty neat seeing three people use the same stamp and come up with totally different cards. Don't forget to go check them out.

Here's my card using Love is Kindness. A bright cheerful card that will make any day a little brighter. You can even make this stamp a little more versatile (aka, easier to use without the saying or able to stamp the saying in another area) by cutting the saying away from the image and mounting it on the side of the block. Then you can use the image for any type of card you may need: Sympathy, Easter, Thinking of you, Thank you, Birthday or any other reason you will need a card.

A fun little addition to this card is that I stamped the "paper" a second time on solid yellow designer paper from the Painted Bloom pack and cut it out to add more texture and dimension to the card. Before I adhered it to the card, I wrapped a piece of basic black baker's twine around the cut out paper and tied a little bow (since the stamped image has a bow) to make it even more realistic. Cute, right?

I even stamped the inside of the card to make that a little more cheerful. Just stamp the top of the stems of tulips and color them in. I have to say I love the blendabilities to color with now. And most of you know, I was NOT a person who enjoyed coloring before. These markers make it so easy and the finished project looks so professional. They make you an artist. Isn't that great?

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping to see more ideas and layouts using this single stamp, Love is Kindness. You won't be disappointed.

Some Black, White and a "Pop" of Color

Hello Stamping Friends,

Another week has passed. I always have the best of intentions to post more to the blog but time is not being my friend lately. We're more like enemies. Too much to do, too little time to do it. I'm sure you have all felt that way at one time or another. I knew this would be a very busy year for us but I still want more time to enjoy and do get more things done. Understand?????

Anyway, being that it's Friday, it does mean we have another Sisters in Stamping challenge facing us. I love this week's challenge: black, white and a pop of color. Black and white cards are awesome. The pop of color makes them that much better.

I used several things (stamps and paper) from the Occasions catalog. You have your copy, right? If not, what are you waiting for. Let me know right away so I can get it out to you. You are going to love it. There are so many great things on each and every page. Plus, don't forget we are in full-fledged Sale-a-bration mode. That's right, FREE stuff with every $50 order.

My pop of color is Calypso Coral. (Pretty much dictated by the paper from the designer stack) I really love how this card turned out. It's a little difficult to see in the picture but the white half of the card is embossed using the large polka dot folder. You know I love me some polka dots.

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping to see more black, white and a pop of color cards.
