A Gift of Christmas Cheer

Hello Stamping Friends,

I know it has been a while since I last posted a project for you to see, I do apologize. Life has just been super busy. The kids and I had 3 snow days this week so that has allowed me some extra time to catch up on everything (housework, stamping, Christmas baking).

This week with Sisters in Stamping we are sharing with you some quick small gift ideas. This is a cute little mason jar that filled with red and white mints. A quick little belly band and a cover for the lid make takes it from boring to wow in minutes.

Look at how cute this is. I love the silver glimmer paper and the pop of pizzazz it gives the finished project. Festival of trees is a great set for cards, gift tags, and gifts. The coordinating punch makes life so easy. Just stamp the tree and grab your punch to get it cut in a jiffy.

Notice the cover for the lid is even embossed with stars. Didn't want to leave the lid plain after the front is so pretty. Of course, the silver glimmer punched stars just makes it even better, plus they match the star on top of the tree.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more small gift ideas.

I will post the list of items used after I get home from school today.

Look at the Snuggle and Smooches Stamp set, isn't it cute. I love the swirly scribbles. I see them as flowers. Stamp them in a darker color and use a lighter color and sponge dauber to "color" them in. Check out the blog posting on Stampin' Up!  to see what the concept artist had in mind when she created this set. She had something entirely different in mind for the swirls.

Be Greatful for All You Have

Hello Stamping Friends,

Thanks for stopping by today. I just need to share with you something that is heavy on my heart today before I share today's project for the Sisters in Stamping. Thank you  in advance for letting me share.

It's November 7, 2014. Exactly, 20 years since my dear mom had passed away. I have now lived half of my life without my mom. I can't even believe it. I'm the age she was when she died (actually if you are counting the days, I'm a month older than she was). I miss her more and more as time goes on. I wish my boys got to meet her. I know she would be stamping right by my side. I do believe I got my crafty gene from her. She crocheted, did plastic canvas needlepoint, made homemade chocolates and so much more. If you are lucky enough to have your mom still, please cherish every moment you have with her. Our time here on earth is so limited. I can't even begin to tell you the emotions I have today.

Thanks for sticking with me, I know that was heavy. Now on to this week's challenge with the sisters. We were to make a fall or Thanksgiving project.  I made a treat bag (mine is just filled with tissue paper so you can see it better) using the blendabilities markers.  I love them. They are simply awesome. If you haven't tried them, you  need to. It's not like coloring with just any other marker. The colors go on smooth and blend together so there are no lines when you are finished.

I used the Fall Fest framelits for the pumpkin. The pumpkin, including the stem is cut from pumpkin pie cardstock. The stem is later colored with the crumb cake blendabilities. I then used the old olive blendabilities to make the details on the leaf and the pumpkin pie blendabilities to detail the pumpkin.

Did you notice the cello bag has pumpkin pie polka dots on it? That was also done with the blendabilities. Plus wait, there's more, I used the three (light, medium and dark) pumpkin pie blendabilities to make the stripes on the cotton ribbon. Pretty amazing!

Just a closer look at the adorable little pumpkin.  This bag would be a great accent on your Thanksgiving table. Fill it with some fall treats and everyone at dinner gets to take one home with them. The best thing is that it doesn't even take too long to make these.

And here's the bag before anything is put on it or in it. Thought you might like to see the dots a little better. The blendabilities markers dry very quickly and dry on non-porous surfaces which allows you to design your own cello bags. Can't do that with regular markers.

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping to see more Fall/Thanksgiving projects.

Quick & Simple Christmas Card

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Halloween. I know it's Halloween but today's project is a quick and simple Christmas card which is this week's challenge with the Sisters in Stamping.  Definitely time to start thinking Christmas cards when you make your own. Plus, if you make a lot of cards you really want them to be simple yet still look all put together and nice. That's just what today's challenge is all about.

I really like how this card turned out. It really was simple to put together. One run through the big shot for some texture, a couple of punches, one stamp set and some designer series paper. See you can do simple cards that still look great. You can easily follow the layout of this card while switching up the colors and stamps and get a completely new looking card. Try it! I challenge you.

The designer series paper isn't even a Christmas themed paper pack. It is an Autumn paper. I just really like the striped blackberry bliss paper and thought it would be great paired with the mossy meadow for Christmas. What do you think?

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more quick and simple Christmas card ideas.

Happy Halloween Eve

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Halloween Eve. Just wanted to drop by with a quick post to share this adorable wreath with you. I made it using the Motley Monsters designer paper. It's so cute. I have a tutorial coming on how to make these wreaths so look for it in the next few days.

I'm having Jonah give it to his teacher tomorrow. I think it's great for a classroom. I know I would want one in my classroom if I had my own class. (Yes, I'm still dreaming. I know one day it will happen. Just need some patience and trust that it will happen all in God's timing.)

Just a close-up of the not so spooky ghosts that accent the wreath. Cute, right?

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a great time trick or treating tomorrow.
