Occasions Mini Catalog Product Share

I'm so excited to share with each of you a great product share. This is a fabulous way to get your hands on all of the new wonderful designer series papers and/or satin ribbons available in the mini catalog with out breaking the bank. A little bit of everything at a fraction of the cost. This product share will be open until February 10. At that time I will place the order and start sorting the product to get it out to you.




If you choose to take part in the Designer Series paper product share you will receive one 6x12 sheet of each sheet of designer series paper offered in the mini catalog. There are 3 different paper packs, Sending Love Specialty (shown on the upper left), Shades of Spring (shown on lower left), and Sweet Pea (shown on the right). The Sending Love Specialty paper is so pretty because it comes with glitter already on one side of the paper. You will receive 48 sheets of designer series paper. The cost of this product share will be $15.00.



If you take part in the ribbon share. You will receive 3 yards of each of the 5/8" ribbons available. See the chart above for the colors. This product share cost is $20.00. Once I receive 5 people to participate in this I can place the order, but don't worry I will continue to fill groups of 5 as needed so everyone will have the chance to take advantage of these great product shares.

Sweet Treats

Hello Stamping Friends,

I know I have been MIA this past week and I hope you forgive me. I have been battling a sinus infection since I left for Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference and this week it knocked me down. I finally gave up the fight yesterday and went to the doctor's. I couldn't be taking naps everyday like I have been this week. Let me tell you just 2 doses of antibiotic and I feel so much better. Amazing how that stuff works.

I have several things I want to share with you over the next few days so be sure to check back often. For today though, it's Fabulous Friday and the Sisters in Stamping were focusing on the set Something Sweet from the Occasions Mini Catalog. When I first saw this set, I had this image come to mind and I am so excited at how it turned out.

The little handle is supposed to be for a baby rattle, which I didn't figure out on my own. Instead, I saw a magnifying glass. So here it is, what do you think?

Isn't it the cutest thing? I actually went out and bought these sour worms just so I could make this card. Don't worry, the kid's don't mind having the extras. lol I used the Bugs and Kisses set and inked up the worms just like the gummy worms (two-toned). The worms are attached with none other than dimensionals. I used the treat cups to put one worm inside and I think it looks like it is magnified because it certainly is bigger than the other worms on the card. I added some ants just because. Good reason, huh? I also used the Inspired by Nature set for the grass.

On the inside, I stamped a little grass, one ant and added a worm with dimensionals. What would a card be without me using dimensionals?

Sweet Valentine without the Calories

The weeks are just flying by and time is slipping through my hands. I can't believe it's Friday, yet again? You know time is going fast when your children are saying it's Friday already. With that said, it is time for another Fabulous Friday at the Sisters in Stamping blog. Be sure to head on over there after you read this to see what the other Sisters have created.

This week's challenge was to make something using a Valentine's theme. I saw a luminary similiar to this in a magazine using snowflakes and thought that would be a cute idea and a great project for me to create this week.


I used vellum cardstock to make the "box". I cut it at 6 3/4" x 11". Then it was scored at 2 1/2", 5", 7 1/2 ", and 10" on the 11" side. Then I turned it a quarter turn and scored at 2 1/2" on the 6 3/4" side. The vellum is being held together with sticky strip. The best adhesive around for 3-D projects. Once it sticks, you are golden.

I used some Designer Series Paper from the Sweet Pea pack of paper that can be found in the Occasions mini catalog. I used pinks and reds, of course. To cute the large heart from the center of the panel, I used the hearts sizzlet 4 pack and the big shot. I actually cut 2 layers at a time.

I also used the heart to heart punch to embellish the panels a little more. Once you attach the panels to the vellum box you are set. I added a battery operated tealight to it. It looks really pretty lit up at night.

Quilt Squares from Leadership

Today I wanted to show you the great quilt squares each attendee at Leadership received. Shelli wanted to give each of us one and the employees at the Kanab manufacturing plant were willing to sew. They even brought in their own sewing machines to complete them. There were four different color combinations.

Lucky for me, between all my demo friends all four color combinations were received and I took pictures of each of them to share with you.


These colors and patterns would be great for a variety of rooms and themes. There really was something for everyone. Shelli did a great job picking out material that would suit all types of personalities.

These quilt squares can be sewn together to make a beautiful quilt or you can use it as the front of a pillow or bag. Shelli even showed us an apron made using it.

To make these flowers you cut material using your Big Shot. Eight layers of material can be cut at a time (that would be the normal, thin material, if you used a thicker material less layers can be cut at once).

And here I am with my quilt square. I love the colors of my flower. Of course, the square is still in the nice protective packaging waiting for me to make something great with it. Ummm, what to make? That is the question. lol

Leadership Inspiration

What a week we had last week in Phoenix, AZ for Stampin' Up!'s annual Leadership Conference. Great friends, demonstrations, swaps, displays, food and so much more. There were so many great ideas that the "Sisters" decided to use this week to focus on a stamping project that inspired us. There were so many ideas that it was difficult to narrow it down to only one, but I managed to do it.

These cute little birdhouses were demonstrated on Make n Take day by Patty Bennett. To make these darlings you use the new milk carton die for the big shot that you can find in the Occasions Mini Catalog.



I used kraft cardstock to begin with. After die cutting it, I stamped the woodgrain background stamp in close to cocoa. I cut 3 sides from the top in order to fold over the top to seal it and make it look like a roof.

I also used the paper pack, Welcome Neighbor, that you can get for FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 order to decorate the roof and make the bird and branch for each. I cut small strips of paper and scalloped the edge with the scallop edge punch.

The hole was punched using the 1 1/4" circle punch. I think you could probably even use the 1" circle punch for a smaller hole if you'd like.



For an added little touch I attached a small google eye using a mini glue dot. I also used the basic gray marker to add some detail to the bird and the "shingles" on the roof. The wing is attached using a dimensional.

To finish them off, I threaded linen thread through the top so you can hang them up. They would be cute ornaments. I think I want to make a bunch more and make a cute tree to welcome Spring. Wouldn't it be cute having a bare branch in a nice pot and then decorated with this little birdhouses?

Some Leadership Pictures

This year's Leadership Conference was wonderful. Many great ideas, both business and stamping, were shared, got to see many of my demo friends from across the country and simply got re-energized for this upcoming year.

Here are a few photos for you to enjoy. The picture below is from the first day of the conference during General Session. That is, of course, Shelli herself. What a wonderful woman. She is so sincere and passionate about what she does. She is certainly a reason why Stampin' Up! is such a wonderful company to be associated with.



This picture is of me and my "sisters" from the Sisters in Stamping blog. We had a great week of hanging out with each other and catching up with each other. Front row beginning on the left is Jacque Craig and Karla Anders, back row is me and Debbie Naylor. They are three great ladies that I'm pleased to be working with on the blog. Here we are again at manager's reception. I'll share pictures from the reception another day. This time I'm with Dawn Rapsas (#1 Demonstrator of the Year) and Debbie Naylor (one of my sisters). We're proudly showing off our gifts from Stampin' Up!. We received a nice Mexican shawl before we boarded the buses, at the rodeo we were given a maraca with Manager's Reception 2010 on the handle and then when we went into the Dining Hall each place setting had a "wrapped" stamp set with a bright flower waiting for us. Stampin' Up! really knows how to spoil their Managers and above.

And perhaps one of my favorite pictures from Leadership is me with Shelli. This was taken at the end of the Manager's Reception before we headed back to the convention center.

Fabulous Friday

Is it really Friday, again? How time seems to fly by. This week the sisters focus was the I (heart) Hearts stamp set and the I (Love) Love wheel from the Occasions mini catalog which made it's debut on Tuesday. This set is great for all those upcoming Valentine's projects you will be creating. It's also good for many other projects as well. Want more ideas, go over to the Sisters in Stamping blog.

For my card, I decided on the more traditional Valentines colors of real red, basic black, and whisper white. I used the I (Love) Love wheel for my card. I also used the great new polka dot embossing folder for the big shot to add some texture to the white layer of cardstock. To finish the project off, I used the scallop heart embosslit from the occasions mini for the red and black heart. The embosslit is so cute, it actually has tiny, tiny hearts embossed across the heart.

Are you Organized?

Do you ever find that you need somewhere to keep all your small crafting items that really don't have a specific place but you want or need to keep them close to your work station? Well, have I got the cutest thing for you. My sister took a plain, boring tool turn-about from that cooking company that we all know and love and transformed it into a cute organizing tool for any stamping/crafting desk.

Using the big shot, an alphabet die set and the circles die, she cut letters and different size circles out of a decor elements sheet. It says, "Create" on it. The t and e aren't visible in the picture. Then all she did was transfer it onto the tool turn-about. She created this for the gift exchange for my team, Yurinkin' Stamp Addicts, Christmas luncheon. The lucky receiver of this gift was very excited and couldn't wait to go home and decorate her desk with it.

Make 2 different 6x6 pages and 2 cards of characters/things using Stampin’ Up! Punches. The pages and cards will use the same characters/things.
This class will be offered on the second Tuesday of every month.
Cost: $25.00 for the first month (this includes a 6x6 album to place your pages in for future reference). Every other month after the first will be $10.00. This fee includes all supplies to complete the pages and the cards. All you need to bring is your own snail adhesive.

Scrapbook Class:

Do you love the big shot but can’t justify the expense all at once? Well, I have the perfect club for you. Read on for all the details.

As a part of this club you are in essence purchasing a big shot and some accessories for it using a layaway plan.
This club will run for 4 months and be $46 a month.
At the end of the club you will have your own big shot machine, one die ($21.95), the Stampin’ Up! Texture plates ($11.95), one embosslit ($11.95) and one sizzlit 4 pack ($19.95).
This is plenty of supplies to have a lot of fun playing with your new big shot at the end of the club.
Each month we will meet and I will share 3 projects with you (that you will make as well) using the big shot. By the end of the club you will know how to work all the great tools that are available for the Big Shot. We won’t be using just paper either. I will show you several different materials that work wonderfully with the Big Shot.

This year my family is coming with me because Don's brother and family live in AZ and we have never been out to visit them. I thought it would be fun to stamp the turtles in several colors but only stamp the pumpkin turtle one time with using the saying to Be yourself nobody is better qualified. I also thought this was a great saying for New Year's. Everyone should just be themselves because that is who you were meant to be.

Final 3 Christmas cards and a gift bag

Today is the final day to view hand made Christmas cards I received this year. Also, I'm posting a cute little gift bag for your enjoyment. Another loyal stamper of mine, Dorothy, created this bag for gifts she was giving this year. I didn't take a picture of what's inside the bag when she showed me (I forgot), but the gift she stamped was a set of tiles. She used designer series paper and the fabulouse ornament punch (which is only available through the end of today) to decorate a white gift sack. She finished it off with a great topper to keep the bag closed.



The card below was stamped by another loyal, long-time stamper, who was in my original stamper's 10 club, Sue. She used traditiional Christmas colors for this card which is great because of course we need a cardinal flying through the evergreens at Christmas time. She finished it off with some dazzling diamonds glitter to make the trees glisten with freshly fallen snow which makes it very pretty. (It's not real easy to see in the picture, I promise it's really there)



One of my newer stampers, Jessica, stamped the card below. She used the same set as Sue did on the card above but look how different it looks by changing the ink and cardstock colors. Jessica added a finishing touch of ribbon to the side of the card. Very nice. I like how this stamp set can make a very nice card in minutes.

And this final card was sent to me by another stamper, Barbara. When isn't a snowman great on a card? It's a great fun card and made me smile when I opened it. Afterall, snowmen are my favorite thing about winter. I mean, I like looking at them, I don't want to be out in the cold with them.

Another Installment of Christmas Cards

Here is the next to last installment of homemade Christmas cards I was grateful to receive this year. Of course, I was grateful to receive all the cards sent to me by friends and family but I'm just posting the homemade ones here on my blog. I hope everyone understands why I didn't get a chance to send out my cards yet but I promise they are coming.


The above card was sent to me by another long time stamper of mine, Erin. I love the simple design. Not a lot of stamping but the layering makes up for it. I always say the key to a nice card (whether simple or extravagent) is the layers.

The blue snowflake card above was sent by another stamper who has been with me for many years. Annette used cool blues for her card and finished the card off with some great bling in the center of her snowflakes. Very nice card.

The card above is from another girl in my downline, Danielle. Again, I like the non-traditional use of colors for her card. I even like how she added words to the punched out ornaments. Very nice personal touch.

This simple and elegant card was sent to me by another member of my downline, Lucia. This is a very pretty set that allows you to make a nice card with minimal effort. She used one of the in-colors, Rich Razzleberry, for this monochromatic beauty.

And today's final card is from my dear friend, Tracy. She's been stamping with me from Day 1. I love getting together and stamping with her and am truly blessed that she has remained committed to my business throughout the past 9 years. Her card is very clean looking. She embossed the tree in silver (very pretty). I love the way she used three different punches on this card.

More Christmas Cards, I promised.

As promised, more Christmas cards that I received this year. The one below is from Bobbi-Leigh, one of the girls in my downline. I love the card, looks like she loves her big shot. She textured the hunter cardstock and cut the scallop and circle using the big shot.



The card below is from another girl in my downline, Bridget. She too used the big shot. Love the polka dots. This was has lots of layers and is so pretty in real life. She even paid extra postage to send this baby to me. I love how it's non-traditional colors.



The snowflake card below is from another one of my favorite stampers, Mary. She took a card I showed at one of her club meetings and altered it a bit to make it her own. I'm really going to miss this snowflake set. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be in the new catty in July.



The cute card below is from another stamper of mine (she also was a demo under me for awhile, I miss having her on our team), Arrielle. Again, I love the non-traditional colors for this card. It's definitely is sending you wishes to warm you up.

And this final card for today was sent to me by another one of my sista's from the Sisters in Stamping blog, Jacque. I love the clean look of this card. She used designer paper and the ornament punch to create this beauty. Jacque also used her big shot to add some texture to the background.

A New Fabulous Friday

Happy New Year to all my Stamping Friends! I hope 2010 will bring you much happiness and health.

Welcome to another fabulous Friday posting. This is the first one of 2010 and we (the sista's and I) can't wait to see what this year brings in the world of stamping. This week we are excited to share with you some great new accessories from the Occasions Mini catalog which makes it's debut on Tuesday, January 5, 2009. There are so many great products in the new mini, I had a difficult time deciding on a project. I finally settled on an altered paint can. You can purchase empty, clean paint cans at any hardware store. They are great to package gifts in a unique way or just to use it as a storage container on your counter or desk. If you use it as a package it's a gift within a gift. How cool is that?


For this can, I decided I wanted to make it to hold Jonah's Valentine cards for school this year. It isn't easy making something for Valentine's for a little boy that isn't too girly. Know what I mean? Anyway, I think it came out really cute. I used the new Designer Series Paper, Sweet Pea to cover the can. I love the colors and the bold patterns in this paper.

I was sure to decorate the lid of my can too. You don't want to leave that naked. I used the new small heart punch and the new scalloped heart of hearts embosslit die to decorate the small strip going around the can as well as the lid of the can. I decided to use the brown paper from Sweet Pea to make the can more masculine looking.

Here's a close-up of the embosslit. It's really a neat die that I can't wait to use a lot more.
