I'm back so soon. I love being able to share with you more often. My goal is to do it even more. What do you think? Want more creativity coming from this way? I know, I do. 

Tonight is the Stampers Dozen Monthly Blog Hop. This month we are doing anything but a card. So be sure to continue on hopping through the blogs to see many great creations from some talented demonstrators. I know you will enjoy it. 

I'm sticking with the Harvest Hello stamp set tonight. Yep, it's the same one I used yesterday for the Sisters in Stamping blog, but I just can't help it. I love this set. Tonight, I made a quick and super easy little treat to share during the fall. It's not just for Halloween because it's a plain pumpkin. I think these would even be good to place on your Thanksgiving table. Don't you agree?

You start with a 6"x 6" piece of designer series paper. You fold it in half diagonally and then you fold the two narrow end in towards each other to the center of the triangle (It's like folding a cloth diaper). Then you take the open end and fold just one end over the folded center. There's no adhesive used to make the pocket. Just a little origami folding holds it all together.

The real fun comes in decorating the front of the little pouch. I just stamped the pumpkin on mango melody cardstock, the stem on early espress, and the leaf on granny apple green (same color as the pocket). To finish it off you just cut a scrap piece of whisper white cardstock to stamp a little greeting on it. Attach both the pumpkin and the greeting using (my favorite) dimensionals.

Sisters in Stamping Color Challenge

It's FRIDAY!!!! Woohoo!!!! And you know that Friday means another great Fabulous Friday posting from the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are creating cards using a color challenge. The colors this week are whisper white, basic black, pineapple punch and real red. 

What projects come to your mind that would use these colors? For me, it says "school theme." Must be the teacher in me, I guess.

I love how this card turned out. When I was designing, in my head, it was completely different. How often does that happen to you? You picture one thing, but on finished paper you get a totally different outcome.

I think this is a great card to give to a teacher or even for a teacher to use to give to her students. Think of the smile the recipient(s) will have on their face(s) when they open it up and read it. One of the best feelings is knowing that you made someone else happy.

Old is New Again

Here I am two weeks in a row. I'm on a roll. This week for Sisters in Stamping, we are kicking back to some old projects, recreated with new stuff. Don't you just love when you can use something old and make it new again? For my card, I went back all the way to June 30, 2017 (long before my life was crazy, lol) for a red, white and blue theme.  The card on the top is the one from June 30, 2017. I love the stripes layout on this card and even decided to continue with it for my remake card. 

Red, white, and blue is a theme I love. As an American, I just love the stars and stripes and all that they stand for. There's no stars on the remake project, but I must say I love it just as much. 

For this project, I went with a little less stripes but made them larger. I also moved my focal point down to the lower left hand corner. The boat, lighthouse, banner, and wheel were all cut using the coordinating diecuts. I love how easy diecuts make cutting things for a project out. The baker's twine was just a long piece gathered together and purposefully left looking messy. I love that added element to the overall finished look.

I'm Back, Did You Miss Me?

I'm back. I know I have been very sporadic this past year and a half. Life has just gotten to busy and eventful that I was simply trying to adjust. Back in August 2018 I accepted a full time teaching position. I teach privately for two families. There was a lot to learn and adjust to with having 5 children and three different curriculum to plan for and implement. Just as I was getting the hang of it and in a good grove, my dad had what should have been a routine surgery the end of January.

His routine surgery turned into quite the ordeal. He was readmitted to the hospital within the week with severe septic shock. He had to have another surgery that day and was placed in the ICU where he stayed until the first week of April. He was very sick, had several more infections, more surgeries, and on a ventilator most of that time. We thought he wasn't going to make it on several different occasions. I spent every available minute at the hospital to oversee his care and keep up with what was going on. I would go teach in the morning, head to the hospital around 1pm and not get home until after 9pm most nights. All this along with having a family that still needed me.

I'm happy to say, dad is home and doing pretty well. He's almost himself. He still has some issues we are dealing with but not nearly as time consuming.

So with that background, I hope you understand why I have been so absent from the stamping world for so long. I'm also super happy to announce that I will be contributing again to the Sisters in Stamping blog every Friday. I took a hiatus from that commitment around the time life began to get crazy. Today is my first day back.

The theme today is the Holiday Catalog. I made this quick card for a swap I participated in and feel it's super appropriate for today's post. I am SO THANKFUL for so many things. The things that kept me from stamping and blogging recently are things that I am extremely thankful for: a teaching position that I have wanted for years (and one that is better than I could have ever hoped for) and my dad still here and relatively healthy. I know, kind of ironic, right? The things that completely had me overwhelmed for the past year are the things that I'm thankful for.

Of course, there's my family and so many other things that I am thankful for as well. I'm also so thankful for each of  you and the kindness and patience you have shown me during this past year. I'm here, ready to stamp again and share my creations with you.
