A Little Peek Into the New Catalog

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today at Sisters in Stamping we are doing a little peek into the new catalog.  You do know that as of 2:00 PM (eastern time) today it is live and you can begin ordering from it, right?  It is packed full of greatness. I promise you will love it. Everyone who has seen it so far has said how many awesome new things are in there.  (Stop by tomorrow between 2 and 5 PM to get your own copy of the 2013-2014 Catalog)

Here is my peek for you.  I used a couple of new products as well as two new stamp sets on this one little card. Pretty amazing how you can pack so much into one simple card, isn't it?  The greeting is from a new hostess set. I can see this one getting lots of use all year long. I'm telling you, you are going to want to host your own workshop so you can get your own Express Yourself stamp set.

I used the brand new washi tape underneath my flowers. So quick, easy and totally fun looking. I also made some little clay flowers (which are so light and you would think they add a lot of weight to your card) to put in the center of the stamped/punched out flowers. To color the clay flowers, I mixed some rubbing alcohol and drops of reinker in a spritzer and then sprayed them.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: A Round Array, Express Yourself
Ink: Black Staz-on, Melon Mambo, & Daffodil Delight
Paper: Whisper White & Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Simply Pressed Clay, Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds, Melon Mambo Reinker, Stampin' Spritzer, Dimensional, Gingham Garden Washi Tape, 7/8" scallop circle punch, Glue Dots, Snail Adhesive, and Alcohol (the rubbing kind, not the drinking kind)

Great for the Guys

Hello Stamping Friends,

I know it's been a whole week since I posted.  I'm so sorry. I want to come back to you more often but I just can't seem to fit it all in.  However, I know there is no chance of work for 3 days thanks to the weekend and the holiday that I am pretty confident that you will see me again before next Friday.

It's time for another Fabulous Friday posting with the Sisters in Stamping.  And this week we are focusing on the men.  We all have men in our lives and I think most of us struggle with cards for those special guys.  You would think I would be okay, afterall, I live in a house with 3 of them, but I struggle. I love making the girly cards so much better.

This is a quick card that is great for a man of any age. And the great thing with this card is that you can easily change the greeting and have a card for any occasion for any man in your life.  So glad that Lovely as a Tree is sticking around for at least another year.  It is the oldest set you will find in the catalog. This set became available the year I joined Stampin' Up! (2001) and it's still going strong.  I often have new stampers purchase this set because it is so great for so many occasions.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Itty Bitty Greeting, & Woodgrain
Ink: Crumb Cake, Gumball Green
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla & Midnight Muse
Accessories: Itty Bitty Banner Framelits, Big Shot, 2 1/2" circle punch, dimensionals, snail adhesive, gumball green and early espresso stampin' write markers.

My favorite retiring stamp set

Hello Stamping Friends,

Well, it's rather late for the Sisters in Stamping post but I'm still doing it on Friday so that counts.  Crazy day and just now getting a chance to put it all together.  This week we are focusing on retiring stamp sets.  There are so many great ones that we need to say goodbye to in a short two weeks so we wanted to share some things made with our favorite retiring stamp sets.

I used the Aviary set. I have loved this set since it came out. I will definitely be sad (insert frown here) when it is retired.  I have used it quite a bit and love each and every card made with it.  I also used the retiring elegant lines embossing folder. I love this folder too.  It's just so...... elegant (yes, the perfect word to describe it).  I even used pretty in pink and lucky limeade cardstock that we also need to say adios to. I will miss you Lucky Limeade. I love green so it's very sad for me when I need to say farewell to any of them.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: Aviary
Ink: Basic Black, Lucky Limeade, Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink
Cardstock: Whisper White & Lucky Limeade
Accessories: Big Shot, Elegant Lines embossing folder, glue dots, 1/8" taffeta pretty in pink ribbon and 1/8" taffeta marina mist ribbon, paper snips, basic pearls, dimensionals, and snail adhesive

A Little MDS Friday

Hello Stamping Friends,

Welcome to another Fabulous Friday posting with the Sisters in Stamping.  This week we are sharing with you some pages made using My Digital Studio.  Do you want to scrapbook quickly and easily? Then this program is for you. And now it's better than ever at a newly discounted price and now through June 15 many downloads and printed products are on sale.

My page uses some designer papers and punches. That's all. It came together so fast, I loved it. The most recent big event we had here in our house was Noah turning 16. Simply CAN NOT believe my baby boy is 16, has a driving learner's permit, and is turning into a fine young man. How did it happen? I still think he should be that fun-loving, easy-going little boy but instead he is that fun-loving, easy-going young man. We are so proud of him and all that he accomplishes. Just this week he was inducted into the National Honor Society at school. Way to go, Noah!

So anyway, that's why I did this page. To show you who this 16 year old young man is. Isn't he handsome? And no I'm not biased at all, right?

This page came together nicely. I used the colors from his cake, which my sister made for him. It's a replica of his new skateboard. See the picture in the top right corner. She did a great job, didn't she?

Here's what I used in My Digital Studio:
Paper: Basic Black Cardstock, First Edition Paper & Houndstooth
Punches: Arrows, Top Note and Numbers

Head over to Sisters in Stamping to see some more digital scrapbooking.

Lions, Tigers, & Bears, Oh My!

Hello Stamping Friends,

The nice weather is finally here in Northeast PA.  It always takes awhile, especially living up on the mountain but we sure to appreciate and enjoy every minute of it when it does come. I hope you are enjoying it as well. I know my boys are loving it, they are outside skateboarding, playing volleyball, kicking the soccer ball around and just enjoying the fresh air.

A few weeks ago, a few of my Yurinkin' team members and I travelled down to Baltimore for one of Stampin' Up!'s regional seminars. These seminars are always packed with new ideas and techniques and just plain fun to attend. The East Coast seminars always sell out pretty fast so you need to register early. If you want to attend one and see what all the excitement is about, join my team today. Once you attend one, you won't want to miss another one. I promise you that.

Here are the girls that attended. Patti H, me, Mary Lee, and Lucia. We had so much fun, learned so much, and can't wait until we can do it again.  We even got a few sneak peeks at new stamps and products that are coming out in a few short weeks in the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog.

Here's a card that we made at the April punch class.  Isn't he an adorable little lion?  So fun and really quick to put together.  Great card for any circus themed birthday. Every month at punch class we make two different punch art creations and cards using those creations.  Plus you get a 6x6 page for you to keep so you can recreate them on your own.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: None
Ink: Midnight Muse, Cajun Craze
Paper: Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Basic Black, Regals Paper Stack

Mother's Day is round the corner

Hello Stamping Friends,

I'm loving May. The weather is fabulous. The leaves are starting to take shape on all the trees (even up here on the mountain). It's such a great time of year.  And with May, we have Mother's Day right around the corner.  So in honor of all Mom's, today at Sisters in Stamping we decided to share some great Mother's Day cards with you.

I decided to make a card that was more of a card a child would love to give to Mom on her special day.  It's a fun card instead of a more formal one. Besides, what Mom doesn't want to get a card that tells her she is the best? I know I would want one.

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what the other sisters created for Mother's Day.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: Blue Ribbon & Family Reunion (this one is retiring)
Ink: Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, & Primrose Petals Classic Ink Pad
Paper: Midnight Muse, Whisper White Cardstock & Patio Party Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Midnight Muse Stampin' Write Marker, 2-way glue pen, dazzling details, snail adhesive, dimensionals
