Fabulous Friday

I can't believe it's Friday again. I had all intentions to post a few more things this week but obviously that didn't happen. Time just seems to slip right by me.  I'll be sure to share some more things with you this coming week.

It's time for another Fabulous Friday, Sisters in Stamping challenge.  We are giving you a sneak peak at the Summer Mini Catalog with this week's challenge.   If you haven't received your copy of the Summer Mini Catalog, let me know and I'll get one out to you.

We had to use the set, Elements of Style.  Each of us received this set back in January at our Leadership Conference. This was an extra gift that Shelli gave each of us. It was in addition to the stamp set we received for our Make n Takes.

I think it's a great set to create, simple, easy, yet beautiful cards, gifts and scrapbook pages. I'm sure you will agree after you see this week's projects created by all of us.

I decided to make a card using rose red, regal rose, and mellow moss.  I used the rose red and mellow moss markers to ink up the swirly vine with flowers stamp. I stamped that on very vanilla cardstock.  The bird is stamped in regal rose on very vanilla scraps. I cut it out and attached it to the card with dimensionals.  The designer paper is from the Rose red patterns designer series paper.

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to jump over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what my other 3 sisters made.

REMEMBER:  Today is the FINAL day to order from the Occasions mini catalog. All orders must be placecd by Midnight.

Friday's Awash

It's Friday and you know what that means, right? It's time for another Fabulous Friday with my Sisters in Stamping. This week we are focusing on the Awash with Flowers stamp set (although I have used it with several of the other Fab Friday challenges lately. I was just getting ahead of myself.) Remember this stamp set is a sneak peek at what's to come in the new catalog when it makes it's big debut on July 1.  You have one week left to take advantage of this offer and get your's now.

Instead of stamping it like the traditional flowers they are meant to be. I used them as an all over background to create my own designer paper. What do you think?  It's a fun, different way to use stamps that are traditionally used to make pretty flowers.

I used one of the upcoming retiring colors, Summer Sun, for my main color on this card. I thought it was bright, cheerful and a great pick me up color to be used for a Get Well card.  I love how the Summer sun "glows" when paired with the basic black and whisper white.

Of course, I brought the outside to the inside by stamping one of the flowers in the lower right hand corner of the card. I like to place a sheet of whisper white inside cards that use dark colored cardstock so you can easily write in the card.

LIST OF SUPPLIES:
CARDSTOCK:Basic Black
Whisper White
Summer Sun

CLASSIC INK:Summer Sun
Basic Black

STAMPS:
Awash with Flowers
Teeny Tiny Wishes

OTHER:
Black Satin Ribbon
Modern Label Punch

Don't forget there is also a special until the end of April where you can receive 4 different 2-step stamp set for 20% off. You don't want to miss out on this Check out the link on my sidebar to get the full details.

Also, there are some great projects that my sisters created this week using the Awash with Flowers stamp set so you won't want to forget to jump on over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see their great creations.

Have a fabulous Friday.

Two of my favorite Things.....

Good Friday to you friend. The sun is shining and it's getting a bit warmer each day. What can be better than that? Oh wait, I know, Fabulous Friday at Sisters in Stamping, where you get 4 new ideas every Friday. This week the sisters were challenged to to something, anything with the Big Shot. That's one of my favorite things. I absolutely love the Big Shot. It makes great projects with such ease. I offer a monthly Big Shot Club if you are interested in owning one of these great tools. Just contact me and I'll get the information out to you.
My other favorite thing is polka dots. Many of you already know this but honestly, I LOVE polka dots. I just have to have them if I see them. It may be crazy but it's true.

So this week I used the Big Shot and the Fancy Favor Box die (it's a BIGZ XL die) with polka dot felt to make the cutest little bag ever. The thing I like most about this bag is that it won't get thrown away like a paper bag may.

Isn't it adorable? These would be the cutest little favor bags for a little girls or even a big girl party. I cut one full favor box from the pink and white polka dot felt, then I took a strip of the black felt and cut just the top of it to match the favor box already cut.  The creases are as predominant when using the felt but it was still easy to figure out because of the bottom flaps. Just fold where each flap ends and your good. I used hot glue to hold the bag together. I also cut a piece of chipboard the size of the bottom of the bag so it would be a little sturdier.

I wanted a handled on this one so I took a strip of the pink polka dot felt and cut it at the top of the favor box die. I then turned it around and cut the other side the same way so that I had the design on both sides of the felt. I back it with a black strip of felt that was a tad bit bigger than the pink.  The handle is hot glued to the inside of the bag.

For the flower on the front of the bag I used the Flower Layers # 3 Bigz die. I cut three large flowers (pink polka dot, black and white) and then I cut 2 of the smaller flowers (black and pink polka dot). All 5 flowers are stacked together by slightly off centering each flower as they are stacked. The flower is hot glued together and then hot glued to the front of the bag.

So there you have it. An adorable little bag for any party. It would also be good to have on a dresser for some odds and ends jewelry or you desk to hold some pens and scissors. Leave me a comment and tell me what you think.

Remember to stop over at the Sisters in Stamping blog for some more Big Shot ideas.

I scream, You scream, We all Scream for Ice cream

I remember saying that little rhyme as a kid all the time. It brings back found memories. No wonder why I love ice cream so much. Have you ever said it and decided it was time to head to the local ice cream parlor? I know I have.

Today's card is a sneak peak of what's to come in the Summer Mini Catalog which makes it big debut on May 1st. So that means time is ticking with the Occasions Mini Catalog and you better get what you want before it's gone. Last day to order from the Occasions Mini Catalog will be April 30, 2010. Anyway, back to today's card. I used the Sweet Scoops set that you can order beginning May 1st. Isn't it just adorable? It makes some cute, fun, and fast cards that will surely leave a lasting impression with the recipient.

I used pretty in pink textured cardstock for the base and chocolate chip and very vanilla for the layers.  I stamped the pieces to the ice cream cone on separate scraps of very vanilla.  See the lines in the ice cream? Well, you achieve that look by "kissing" two stamps together. There's a stamp that looks like zebra stripes and you ink that in your darker color, then ink the scoop of ice cream in the lighter color. "Kiss" them together before stamping on paper and you will get lines in your ice cream. Cool, huh?  I must admit, I was a bit confused when I first saw this set because I couldn't figure out how zebra stripes and ice cream went together.  Thank goodness for Stampin' Up! regional. That's where I heard what the stripes were for.

Also, I received this set for FREE from Stampin' Up! because I met the challenge they set for each regional attendee. Would you like to receive FREE STAMPS?  Then join my team today.  You will need to head over to my website and click the join now. You will also need the password to join and that is yurinkinstamps.

Also, if you join by May 31, 2010 in addition to all the great things you receive in your starter kit, you will receive 2 FREE DVD'S full of techniques, tips and ideas that will surely help you get off the ground and running. You will have so many ideas that you will certainly want to share with the world.

What, it's Friday already?

Can I say I simply can not believe how fast time flies by? It's just crazy. It's time for another Fabulous Friday. This week over at Sisters in Stamping our challenge was to use either the Hugs or Kisses from the Occasions Mini Catalog. It was a great challenge for me because I bought both of them back in December with my demonstrator preorder and guess what..... that's right, I haven't touched them. So it was time for me to actually do something with them.

I must say, I'm really pleased with how this card turned out. I love the vibrant colors and the layout is different making it a real eye catcher. Of course, that's just my not so humble opinion.

Now that you've seen her, isn't she a beauty?  I used old olive, melon mambo and crushed curry for the main colors. Of course, whisper white and basic black are the other 2 used.  The flower is from the Awash with Flowers stamp set that is a sneak peak of what's to come in the new catalog on July 1st for this month's special. You can purchase it (in either clear or wood mounts) or you can earn it FREE with a qualifying workshop order of $350 or more.  If you don't get it in April you have to wait until July to get it.

Remember to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog to see how the other sisters used their Hugs and/or Kisses.  As always thanks for stopping by.

It's a Color Renovation

I'm so excited with Stampin' Up! newest announcement.  We are going through a Color Renovation. Renovation means out with the old and in with the new. After renovations are complete, everything looks so nice and pretty. You know what I mean if you ever renovated your house or a room or two. It was excited to see the finished product, wasn't it? Well the color renovation is going to be no different. Below is a chart of the new color collections.

Did you notice that there are 5 new colors and there are 10 returning In-Colors from previous years? The brand new colors are Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, and Marina Mist. I think just the names of them are exciting and I can't wait to get my hands on them.

The 10 returnin In-Colors are Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, River Rock, Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red, Rich Razzleberry, Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette, and Baja Breeze. Some of these colors many of you were sad to see go, so I'm more than sure you will be extremely pleased to see them come back. Right???

So now that you know there are new colors coming, you must realize that some colors will be retiring. Many of the retiring colors were barely used by myself and many others. They were outdated. Think avocado and gold appliances from the 70's.  I must admit, I'm pretty happy to see many of these colors go. Below is the list of the retiring colors. Please note that they will be available through June 30, 2010. After June 1, they are available while supplies last only.  So stock up now on your favorite retiring colors.

Here's some more exciting news: If you have the Stampin' Pastels, Stampin' Write Markers, Watercolor Wonder Crayons you will be able to purchase a kit after July 1st that would update your items to include all of the new colors, complete with inserts. The crayons will even come with new tins.

Remember there will also be 5 new In-Colors on July 1st too. Here's an added bonus, these 5 In-Colors will be around for 2 years not 1 as they were in the past. Isn't that cool? So next year, there will be 10 In-Colors when 5 new ones will be introduced.  I'm loving the longer shelf life of the In-Colors.

Have a wonderful day and be sure to color your world.

Awash with Flowers

Want to know what the images are in the set, Awash with Flowers, that I used in my previous post? Well, here they are.

These are all the images you will find in the Awash with Flowers Stamp set. It's a great two-step set. If you are good at looking outside the box, I'm sure you can find many great uses for these images that aren't just flowers.

Remember this set is available this month, April. You can get it FREE with a qualifying workshop or you can purchase it. It will be in the new catalog when it makes it's debut on July 1.

2-Steppin' Friday

Welcome to another Fabulous Friday. Over at Sisters in Stamping we are showcasing projects using 2-step stamping. I personally love 2-step stamps because they give me a lot of color on my projects without me actually having to color. (Something I don't like to do very much at all.)

I used a new set that will makes it's official debut in the new 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog when it comes out July 1. However, don't be too upset because you can get it this month as part of Stampin' Up!'s 2-step promotion. You can even earn it FREE in addition to all the other great items you receive as a hostess with a qualifying workshop of $350 or more during the month of April. The set is called Awash with Flowers.

I used some colors that I don't usually go for on this card. Taken with teal, Crushed Curry and Cameo Coral. I'm please with how it turned out. I think it's very refreshing. I stamped the inside of the flower on both the crushed curry and the cameo coral strips of cardstock in their respective colors and then I ran them through the dot embossing folder in the Big Shot. It "needed" more dots because of the dots on the Crushed Curry cardstock.

I used Basic Gray ink for the outline because I wanted it to be a little softer looking than what black would do. I put the main image on the card with, f course, dimensionals. Instead of putting it square on I decided to tilt it a little and I like the fun look this gives the overall project.

Above is the Two-Step into Spring promotion chart. You can purchase the Awash with Flowers set in April. If you don't, you will have to wait until July to get it again. You can also purchase 4 different sets that are found in the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog at a 20% discount. Gotta love a good sale.

Don't forget to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog for more 2-step ideas.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful Easter weekend with your family.
