One Last Chance for 2022-2023 Annual Catalog

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today with the Sisters in Stamping we are sharing with you one last chance to get your favorite items from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. There are so many great items that we are saying goodbye to to make room for just as many great new items in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog.

I used the Tea Boutique 6x6 Designer Series Paper and the Cup of Tea stamp set (the greeting) to make this card. To me, it's a great reminder that when life hands you lemons (which it certainly will) you need to make lemonade out of the situation and remember to take care of yourself.

The lemons on the corner of the greeting are cut out from the designer paper and attached using some dimensionals.  I used two different pieces of designer paper and cut them 3 3/4" x 5" and then cut them on a diagonal. It definitely adds a lot more dimension and interest to the card.

Don't forget to get those last chance orders in before May 1st to get your favorite items before they are gone forever. I can place the order for you or you can head over to my website and place it yourself.

Also, I hope you head over to the Sisters in Stamping to get a few more ideas using some retiring products.

Going, Going, Gone Blog Hop with Stampers Dozen

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's another 14th of the month and that means it's time for another great blog hop with the Stampers Dozen group. This month we are focusing on retiring products. It's going, going, gone. Well, some of it is already gone so if you want anything from the list you need to order today. Don't wait until it is gone and then you can't get it. Remember, some of the products are even discounted.

I love this cute little bathing suit set, Sunny Splash. I love the vintage feel to the design of the suits. It's a fun set to make a card to cheer up a friend and to let them know they can always make a splash wherever they are.

I made this a non-traditional card size in order to make a six bathing suits fit across the front. The name of the card size is slim-line. They fit in a regular business size envelope which makes it fun and easy to create because most of us already have those envelopes. The finished card size is 3 1/2" by 8 1/5".

Honestly, I think my favorite part of the set is the suit with the polka dots, but I'm sure you all would have guessed that anyway. And yes, I cut out each bathing suit by hand. I don't mind fussy cutting at all.

What's your favorite retiring set? Is it already in your stash or do you need to purchase it before it's gone? We have just over two weeks left with this current catalog and all retiring items are on a limited basis, so don't delay.

Oh, and not only is the stamp set retiring, but Bermuda bay is a retiring color.

Please continue hopping by clicking the links below. You won't be sorry.

Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays!

Hello Stamping Friends,

The months of March and April and even the beginning of May are busy, busy, busy in our house with birthdays. Two of my kids, my husband, and my grandson all have birthdays and many other family members, as well as friends all have birthdays. I need to stay on top of things or else I can miss one or two.

Luckily this month, the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop is all about birthdays. I had so much fun making this birthday card. Making the fringe to replicate what you might find on a piñata was the perfect touch to make the card a little more unique. I also added the string to make it look like it is swinging in the air after being hit. Oooo, I just had an idea, I would be fun to make a card where the piñata is broken open and goodies falling out of it. I'll have to try that.

The taco fiesta set is so versatile and fun. If you want a different set for some unique cards, this is the set for you. Orders yours today, it's only available through the end of April.

You may be curious about the orange ribbon. You won't find it in any catalog or online if you look for orange.  However, you will find white crinkled seam binding. I used that and then colored the ribbon by pulling it across the top of my pumpkin pie ink pad. Using this technique, you will have any colored ribbon you want and it will always coordinate with your project.

The little piñata  in the set is the cutest thing and reminds me of a birthday party I had when I was about four years old. My mom actually made a piñata for my birthday.  She was one crafty lady. I have no doubt of where I got my love of crafts from. I know if she was here with me today, she would be stamping cards right beside me.

Yes, that's adorable little Rachel (can't you tell by the nose?  haha) swinging to open her piñata. I was obviously loving it.  That's mom in the background holding the piñata up. You probably have noticed over the years that I often have the sets with ducks and swans in them. Without a doubt, you can see why. The fascination with them went way back.

Thanks for letting me share my memory with you. When I initially made the card I didn't even think about these pictures. I made it with my grandson in mind because he has a Cinco de Mayo birthday and he loves his tacos.

March Online Exclusives Blog Hop

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy March 1st! The year is going so quickly, so you better not blink. New for March with Stampin' Up! is some online exclusives. You will need to head over to the website to view all  the great products that you will not find in a catalog.

You will be surprised to see a few returning colors in this collection. They are colors that were part of the past in-color collections, so you may already have the colors ready to use. I know I had the one color I used on my card and was happy I kept my in-colors.

The collection includes two stamp sets, coordinating dies, embossing folders, frosted dots, 6"x6" designer series paper, and 12x12 specialty designer paper.  Remember, you won't find it in a catalog; it's online only.

For my card, I used one of the stamp sets, Irresistible Blooms, the 6"x6" Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper, Loose frosted dots, and coordinating Irresistible Blooms dies. Do you know which returning in-color I used?

I think my favorite stamp in the whole set is the scattered dots to use to fill-in any empty space. I know, it's a weird one to be my favorite, but I love having that option when there's too much "white space."  You can see I used it on the die cut piece of So saffron cardstock. Without it, that piece looked so blah!

Don't forget to continue hopping to see even more wonderful ideas using these online exclusive products. You won't be disappointed.

Visit my website to place your order for these online exclusive products.

Thanks for stopping by. See you again soon.

Stampers Dozen February Blog Hop - Bundles

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Valentine's Day!  Today I am excited to join the Stampers Dozen group for another great blog hop. This month's theme is a bundle from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. Seriously, how do I just pick one?  There are so many great bundles to choose from.

I decided to go with the adorable little chicks in the On the Farm bundle and the coordinating designer series paper, Day at the Farm, from the Sale-a-bration brochure that you can select for FREE when you purchase the bundle since it is over $50 which gives you a qualifying Sale-a-bration order. Woohoo!

I know the big thing is that chickens are quite valuable right now with the price of eggs being what they are, so let's honor them with their own card. I used Stampin' blends to color the chicks and ground and then just let the designer series paper do the rest of the work. I know, there's a ton of layers on this card, but I don't care. I love it! I think the layers are what makes it all come together beautifully. I suppose you could go with less, but that's not my style. HAHA

Don't forget to keep hopping by clicking the links below.

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon.

It's All About the Paper - Designer Series Paper!

Hello Stamping Friends,

This week with the Sisters in Stamping it's all about the paper - the designer series paper, that is!  There are so many great packages of Designer Series paper that Stampin' Up! has to offer that you may just need to have them all. The January through April mini catalog alone has quite a variety to select from. Never mind, the great offerings from the Sale-a-bration catalog that you could earn for free. And we're not even going to focus on the Annual catalog's offerings right now. Seriously, if you can't find one paper you like, I'd be surprised.

I made a slimline card, which was so much fun to make. I love the different size than we are usually used to. It is 8 1/2" x 3 3/4".  I love how bright and cheery this card it. Yes, I am looking forward to warmer weather and sunshine. I am finished with winter! It's been pretty mild here in northeast Pennsylvania this winter, but I'm still done with it.

I used the Dainty Details designer series paper from the Sale-a-bration catalog on my card. Because of the bright color, I decided to pair it with some Bermuda Bay and I love the look of the two colors together.

I stamped the sun background stamp and then used a small blending brush to "color" in the center of the "sun."  I then added a little texture to the card by embossing the hello folder on a small piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock. It paired perfectly with the greeting. I love that folder since it has hello listed in different languages. A fun element to add to any project.

I also used a Stampin' blend marker to color the ribbon to match. Otherwise, I would have had to use just a plain white piece of ribbon. Don't be afraid to color or stamp on your ribbon to give it a unique look that will work with any project you are working on.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more ideas using designer series paper.
