Hello Stamping Friends,
This week with the Sisters in Stamping it's all about the paper - the designer series paper, that is! There are so many great packages of Designer Series paper that Stampin' Up! has to offer that you may just need to have them all. The January through April mini catalog alone has quite a variety to select from. Never mind, the great offerings from the Sale-a-bration catalog that you could earn for free. And we're not even going to focus on the Annual catalog's offerings right now. Seriously, if you can't find one paper you like, I'd be surprised.
I made a slimline card, which was so much fun to make. I love the different size than we are usually used to. It is 8 1/2" x 3 3/4". I love how bright and cheery this card it. Yes, I am looking forward to warmer weather and sunshine. I am finished with winter! It's been pretty mild here in northeast Pennsylvania this winter, but I'm still done with it.
I used the Dainty Details designer series paper from the Sale-a-bration catalog on my card. Because of the bright color, I decided to pair it with some Bermuda Bay and I love the look of the two colors together.
I stamped the sun background stamp and then used a small blending brush to "color" in the center of the "sun." I then added a little texture to the card by embossing the hello folder on a small piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock. It paired perfectly with the greeting. I love that folder since it has hello listed in different languages. A fun element to add to any project.

I also used a Stampin' blend marker to color the ribbon to match. Otherwise, I would have had to use just a plain white piece of ribbon. Don't be afraid to color or stamp on your ribbon to give it a unique look that will work with any project you are working on.
Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more ideas using designer series paper.
