Another Awesome Color Challenge

Remember to Create!

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's the last Friday of summer. I know, I know, summer doesn't end until later in September but come on we know that once Labor Day comes that's the official end of summer for all intents and purposes. Anyway, before we get all teary-eyed thinking about it let's have some fun with the Sisters in Stamping.  Today's challenge was a color one. I have to admit, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this color combo so the challenge was a breeze.

Aren't these some of the best colors together?

Here's my card. This card was designed for double-duty purposes. I used it for a recent workshop knowing that I had this challenge coming up. Gotta love being able to get a two for one deal.

The butterfly was stamped on a window sheet using Staz-on ink and then colored from behind using the Stampin' Blends markers. I cheated a bit on the color combo because we don't have a lemon lime twist blend marker so I used the Granny Apple Green, which comes out coordinating beautifully (if you ask me!). The fun part of the butterfly is the glitter backing. Once it is all colored in you put some glue dots on the window sheet and attach it to glimmer paper. Once attached, cut it out and pop it up on your card. It's absolutely gorgeous. A great way to have glitter without the mess of glitter.

Just a close-up so you can see how sparkly it is.

The bermuda bay cardstock was embossed with the subtle embossing folder which gives a nice textured look to the cardstock. Much like the old textured cardstock we used to carry a few years ago. Then I used the stitched framelits to cut out the large white circle to make the butterfly pop even more.

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping for even more great ideas using this fun color combo.

Thanks for stopping by. See  you soon.

Don't forget the Online Extravaganza Going On Now

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Black Friday to you. Are you all shopped out? I am not one of those crazy Black Friday shoppers. I can't be bothered with the crowds. I believe there are still many great deals out there from now until Christmas and I'll just leisurely shop when I can. I know many of you love the thrill of getting that good deal because you waited in line through the night and I just say, "More power to you!" I just don't have the patience or stamina to do it.

Today I am sharing with you a quick, little birthday card with you. (Don't worry, soon enough you will have lots of Christmas stuff coming your way) Funny story behind this card, back in July when I went camping with some great demonstrator friends we were making cards and a 3D project using one stamp set. Well, in my little head, I was making 3 cards and one 3D project. However, once I got there and we all started showing each other our stamp set projects I quickly realized my idea that was in my head was wrong. I was supposed to make 4 cards. So I got busy right away, even though my friends were great and telling me not to worry, I HAD to do my part. And this card was the end result. I had all the extra cardstock with me just in case for my other projects so it just flowed together nicely. What do you think?

You can easily change the fruit and the designer paper sheet to one of the other pieces from the stamp set and paper pack and have a great coordinating pack of cards that all look just a bit different (but not really).

Now I need to be off to finish making my Christmas cards that I started last year. Hopefully they get finished and sent out this year. That's what happens when you pick a card that has A LOT of steps to it.

Don't forget the Online Extravaganza going on until Monday. Save on a lot of your favorite items. Plus the stamps sets that are on sale with the Stitched Framelits special.

Happy Day Before Thanksgiving

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy day before Thanksgiving to you. I'm sure you are busy, busy, busy today getting ready for the big turkey day tomorrow. I know I will be going non-stop, especially once I get home from school today. Baking, prepping food, cleaning, the list goes on. Although, I'm pretty sure most of you will have identical lists as mine.

Just a quick drop by today to share a pretty card that uses the basket of wishes stamp set to make a cute basket of sunflowers card. The designer series paper, Playful Palette had the perfect green paper for how I wanted this card to look. I like the look of this card with the elements offset instead of centered. What do you think?

The In-color lace doilies were the perfect touch too. I colored the basic Rhinestones with a permanent marker to get them "gold."

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow. Enjoy each other, that's what holidays should really be about.

Don't forget about the great Online Extravaganza going on through Monday. Deals are everywhere.

And the 25% off sale on these stamp sets. The stitched framelits have been so popular that we can not order them right now. They will be available again soon.

Hello Stamping Friends,

There is some exciting news coming from the home office. We all love getting sneak peeks at what's coming in future catalogs, right? Well, Stampin' Up! has just announced that we can get our hands on these awesome framelits ahead of their June 2017 catalog debut. Woohoo!

The Stitched from the heart Framelits will be available beginning November 1 (that's 6 months before the June 1 debut). There are stitched circles, square and ovals that will be sure to add some extra pizzazz to your cards and paper crafts.

Not only are stitches a classic trend, they illustrate the quality, precision, and extra care taken when creating a piece. Giving a stitched gift shows just how much you value that relationship. Now you and your customers have the opportunity to purchase Stitched Shapes Framelits ahead of their official release in the 2017-2018 annual catalog and get 25% off coordinating stamp sets. With Stitched Shapes Framelits you can make paper stitches in seconds, turning any project into one that is stitched from the heart. Not only can you share this early-release set of 12 dies with your customers, but you can highlight the stamp sets that bring out the beauty of the Stitched Shapes Framelits – and they are all 25% off! And there’s more great news…although the 25% off stamps sets ends November 30, you will still be able to get the Stitched Shapes Framelits after that date.

These new framelits will be available November 1st – November 31st only because they are a SNEAK PEEK from the 2016-2017 Stampin’ Up annual catalog that comes out in June.   After that they will be available for a year.

In addition to the new framelits available on Nov 1st, there are NINE stamp sets on sale for 25% off that coordinate with the stitched dies!  (prices shown are for clear mount but wood mount is available for a little more)

See the cute stitches around the oval and the squares? Paper stitches are still a hot trend and a fun way to add some texture to any of your projects!
