Don't forget the Online Extravaganza Going On Now

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Black Friday to you. Are you all shopped out? I am not one of those crazy Black Friday shoppers. I can't be bothered with the crowds. I believe there are still many great deals out there from now until Christmas and I'll just leisurely shop when I can. I know many of you love the thrill of getting that good deal because you waited in line through the night and I just say, "More power to you!" I just don't have the patience or stamina to do it.

Today I am sharing with you a quick, little birthday card with you. (Don't worry, soon enough you will have lots of Christmas stuff coming your way) Funny story behind this card, back in July when I went camping with some great demonstrator friends we were making cards and a 3D project using one stamp set. Well, in my little head, I was making 3 cards and one 3D project. However, once I got there and we all started showing each other our stamp set projects I quickly realized my idea that was in my head was wrong. I was supposed to make 4 cards. So I got busy right away, even though my friends were great and telling me not to worry, I HAD to do my part. And this card was the end result. I had all the extra cardstock with me just in case for my other projects so it just flowed together nicely. What do you think?

You can easily change the fruit and the designer paper sheet to one of the other pieces from the stamp set and paper pack and have a great coordinating pack of cards that all look just a bit different (but not really).

Now I need to be off to finish making my Christmas cards that I started last year. Hopefully they get finished and sent out this year. That's what happens when you pick a card that has A LOT of steps to it.

Don't forget the Online Extravaganza going on until Monday. Save on a lot of your favorite items. Plus the stamps sets that are on sale with the Stitched Framelits special.

And now for the pretty card I promised.

This is a pretty quick and easy card to make. To get the perfectly spaced and even lines on the white cardstock to stamp the "thank you" you cut the designer series paper into a 4x4 square and then cut it on a diagonal from one corner to the opposite corner. Wasn't that way easier than what you thought? Then just stamp a few berries and cut them out to embellish the rest of the card. I love the look of these card because they look so much more involved than they really are.

Fresh Fruit Lemonade, Perfect Summer Day Treat

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Friday to you! This week with Sisters in Stamping we are sharing projects made using the big shot. I can't not truly explain how much I absolutely LOVE my big shot. Honestly, I can't even remember what life was like before it. How in the world did I create beautiful works of art? Maybe I didn't. lol Once, Stampin' Up! brought the big shot to us, my crafting world was changed forever. Seriously don't know what I did without it so many years.

Enough about that. This week I used the Jar of Love bundle for my card. This is a card that was made at one of my product classes last month. I have a great group of ladies that invite me to do a private class for them. They pick the stamp/bundle they want and I make three cards and a 3D/gift item to go with it that they all get to make the day of the class. I have to say this card was my favorite one from this particular class. I love, love, love the way it turned out.

Who doesn't love a nice frosty glass, 'er mug, of lemonade on a hot summer day? And if it's strawberry lemonade, that's even better for me. For the quilted looking background on this card, I used the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper. Just cut the pieces to fit together like a puzzle. That's what quilting is like, isn't it? I then stamped the jar onto vellum paper and sponge brayered the back side with daffodil delight ink to fill it up with lemonade.

I cut a paper straw down to fit inside the jar and cut out a piece of a lemon and a strawberry from the designer paper to add some cute embellishments to the jar. Wrap the jar with some baker's twine and there you have the best looking jar of lemonade a girl can ask for. (Not sure the guys would be as fond of it as we chics can be)

I used half of an In Color Doily in Watermelon Wonder, since that's the color in the Fresh Fruit Designer Paper to place the jar on. Kind of makes it look like it's sitting on a table. Or so I think. I then finished the card off with some stitching marks using a basic black marker. You do need stitches when quilting.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more great projects using the Big Shot.
