Great savings, but it you want an even better deal, join the Stampin' Up! family for just $75 and receive $125 worth of product (with  the sale, you can get even more than $125 in product). Hop on over to my website and click JOIN NOW.

Now onto some stamping inspiration. Today is a blog hop with crafty collaborations with a theme of winter holiday. I suppose living in NE PA, this is a perfect card to fit the bill. We have already had about an inch of snow just this week. I can tell you, "I'M NOT READY!"  (Yes, I'm screaming it. LOL)

Again, on this card, I'm letting my designer paper do the majority of the work for me. If you don't have a lot of time or feel that you don't have a lot of creativity then let the designer paper help you out. Creating with it is so easy.

I also went with non-traditional holiday colors for this card. Black and white with a little pink is so pretty. Then the sparkle from the designer paper is the perfect touch. I also punched the end of the greeting strip to give it a different look. Better than just a plain straight edge.

The die cut snowflakes in the mini catalog are so pretty and perfect if you want to add some dimension and texture to your card without too much effort when you are running short on time.  I added a basic rhinestone to the center of the snowflake to add just a touch more of sparkle.

I also finished the edge off with some black and white gingham ribbon. I love gingham ribbon. I want it in every color.

One Stamp Set, Different Ideas

Hello Stamping Friends,

Welcome to another Sunday Fun Day with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are all using one set, Sailing Home. I love seeing how others use the same set and how different all of our cards turn out. You will need to head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what each of us created.

I love the nautical look of this card. Chunky stripes created by using two pieces of white cardstock. I didn't add a lot of layers to the base, but the layers of cut out pieces certainly add to the card.

I think this would even be a good choice to frame for a room with a nautical theme. What are your thoughts?

The lighthouse and sailboat are colored using the watercolor pencils. Of course, they were even added to the front of the card with dimensionals. I know, no surprise there.

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more ideas using the Sailing Home stamp set found in the annual catalog.

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon.

Thankful Blog Hop with the Stampers Dozen

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's November and another hop with the Stamper Dozen ladies. This month's theme is thankful/grateful. November is the month where we all stop to think about how grateful we are for all we have, but I think we should do it everyday. Even through the tough times there is always something to be thankful for.

I started creating thinking I was going to make a fall card using leaves in great fall colors. I decided to us the Beauty of the Earth designer series paper as my color inspiration. Well, once I started creating and stamping several different leaves from the Love of Leaves stamp set in different colors and the So Grateful greeting from the Ornate Thanks stamp set, I decided I wanted to use the So Grateful greeting in the four colors I was using. The only problem with that was that now my four different sized leaves just weren't working.

Then, I realized, the smallest leaf looked like a heart if I cut the stem off and turned it upside down. (Which then gave me an idea for Valentine's Day, you'll have to wait to see that) So I stamped the leaf in the three other colors and decided a heart was the perfect accent to the So Grateful sentiments. What do you think?

This is one card that didn't turn out the way I initially imagined in my head, but I absolutely love it. Probably more than what I thought I was going to do when I started creating.

Always Thinking of You

Hello Stamping Friends,

Welcome to another week with the Sisters in Stamping. This week's theme is thinking of you. I made this card with someone very special in mind, It's not just any thinking of you card that you may have on hand and want to send. Continue reading to find out more.

I made this card with my mom in mind. Today is the 27th anniversary of her passing at the young age of 40 years old. I always think of her with all my heart and am so grateful for the memories I do have of her.

This is not a normal color selection for me, but I chose it because so many things in our home at the time of her passing were the country blue and rose that was so popular back then. And there were definitely hearts involved as well. They are definitely not my colors, but they do make me smile as I think of my mom with all my heart.

Here's a close up of the side of the card because you really can't see the detail in the first picture.  I scrunched the ribbon by waving it back and forth, left and right. I also cut a square vellum doily in half and attached it to the back of the blue strip. You don't have to use things the way they look. Think outside the box and you will be pleasantly surprised at how much more versatile your supplies become.

I also stamped the large brushed-looking heart all over the background of the petal pink cardstock. I know it's not easy to see they are hearts, but it adds texture to an otherwise ordinary piece of cardstock.

Hearts aren't only for Valentine's Day either, so take them out and create all year long.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping to see more thinking of you card ideas.

Here's a picture of my mom just a few short months before her unexpected passing. She had a massive heart attack which is another reason why the hearts are so meaningful to me.  Thanks for letting me share my mom with you today and letting me have my moment.
