Black, White and a Little Color

Remember to Create!
Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope you had a great week and are looking forward to an awesome weekend. Now that it's August, the month will just fly by and then we will all be back to our school/work routines with summer a memory so make it a great month and plan some fun and exciting times so you can look back and cherish the memories.

This week with the Sisters in Stamping for our Fabulous Friday challenge we are using black, white and one color. Picking just one color was the hard part. There's so many great colors, how do I select just one?????  But alas, I narrowed it down to Pool Party. Blue, definitely not a norm for me. I'm more of a brighter pink and green kind of girl. You know, melon mambo and lemon lime twist,  kind of girl. (Like my elephant on the top of this post, lol) I have to say, I really like how it turned out though.

I used a background stamp, sheet music and stamped that directly onto the designer series paper. Little different, right? Who says you always need to stamp on white or vanilla cardstock? Try it, it's a fun little twist to the norm.  I then used the circle from the swirly frames and cut it out (there are framelits that would cut it, but I was too lazy to go get them from upstairs). I then cut the outer layer off the pearlized doily and it fits nicely inside the circle.

Of course, then I stamped the butterfly from Beautiful Day on a scrap piece of white cardstock, cut it out and colored it with the Pool Party Stampin' Blends.  I think it turned out great. That's just my not so humble opinion though.

Then I stamped the Always thinking of you greeting on a piece of pool party, cut it into a banner shape on the ends and put a thinner piece of basic black cut into a banner behind the pool party cardstock.

Hope you like it half as much as I do. Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more stamping ideas using black, white and a little color. Thanks for stopping by today.
