Black, White, & a Pop of Color

Hello Stamping Friends,

Time for another great post with the Sisters in Stamping. I love this week's theme: black, white and a pop of color. It's always fun to create using this theme. Hope you enjoy my project and are inspired by it and the others too.

I used the great strawberry for my pop of color. It's a simple thank you card that you can easily make an entire set of rather quickly to give as a gift. Or better yet, change the greeting and make them for multiple occasions.

I used the new patterned party host designer series paper on this card. This pack of paper is fantastic. One side is bright and cheerful, while the other side is black and white. Great to use on so many projects.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more black and white with a pop of color inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon. Remember this month there are two great deals. With $250 in orders you get an additional $25 in host dollars to spend on anything you want. Or even better join the Stampin' Up! team for just $99 and receive $155 in product, preorder opportunities, discounts on every order, and so much more. Let me know if you have any questions.

Black, White and a Little Color

Remember to Create!
Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope you had a great week and are looking forward to an awesome weekend. Now that it's August, the month will just fly by and then we will all be back to our school/work routines with summer a memory so make it a great month and plan some fun and exciting times so you can look back and cherish the memories.

This week with the Sisters in Stamping for our Fabulous Friday challenge we are using black, white and one color. Picking just one color was the hard part. There's so many great colors, how do I select just one?????  But alas, I narrowed it down to Pool Party. Blue, definitely not a norm for me. I'm more of a brighter pink and green kind of girl. You know, melon mambo and lemon lime twist,  kind of girl. (Like my elephant on the top of this post, lol) I have to say, I really like how it turned out though.

I used a background stamp, sheet music and stamped that directly onto the designer series paper. Little different, right? Who says you always need to stamp on white or vanilla cardstock? Try it, it's a fun little twist to the norm.  I then used the circle from the swirly frames and cut it out (there are framelits that would cut it, but I was too lazy to go get them from upstairs). I then cut the outer layer off the pearlized doily and it fits nicely inside the circle.

Of course, then I stamped the butterfly from Beautiful Day on a scrap piece of white cardstock, cut it out and colored it with the Pool Party Stampin' Blends.  I think it turned out great. That's just my not so humble opinion though.

Then I stamped the Always thinking of you greeting on a piece of pool party, cut it into a banner shape on the ends and put a thinner piece of basic black cut into a banner behind the pool party cardstock.

Hope you like it half as much as I do. Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more stamping ideas using black, white and a little color. Thanks for stopping by today.

Black and White with a Pop of Color

Hello Stamping Friends,

Don't have much time today but I'm dropping by quickly to share this fun card with you. It uses the botanical blooms. Remember this set from the 2016 Occasions catalog? It was such a huge hit that it is still available in the 2016-2017 Catalog. If you don't have it you will want to get it and the coordinating framelits because there are so many great projects you can make with it.

I love the black and white on this card and then of course the great pop of color from the leave and the flower. The stamped images really "pop" on the black and white. This card was inspired by another version that I saw somewhere online (sorry, can't remember where at this point) that I tweaked a bit to make it my own. I absolutely love how it turned out.

When I made it at a class, it was one of the favorites of the attendees as well.
