A Little Sneak Peek

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Friday to you. I think this is one Friday that I didn't want to come. It's the BIG day. The day I take my "little" boy to college. Where in the world did the time go? I told him to stop growing up years ago, he just wouldn't listen. Little brat! lol  I'm so excited for him to start his new adventure but as mom, I'm just so sad that my boy won't be home everyday. Good thing, I have 7 years in between Noah and Jonah so that gives me some time before I have to do it all over again. I just can't even think about it. (haha)

Anyway, because it's Friday, it also means that it's Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are giving you a little sneak peek at the Holiday catalog by sharing projects made using stamps and products that you will find in it. (Did you get your copy yet? If not, let me know and I'll get one out to you.)

So this set is a Halloween set but as you can see I used it in a non traditional way. Owls are a big thing right now in all types of home decor and baby things are not excluded. So I made a welcome baby card using blushing bride.  Pretty cute way to turn a scary Halloween set into something adorable.

Don't foreget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more sneak peek cards. You're going to love them.

Back to School Treats for the Teachers

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's Friday! Woohoo. We all know that's a wonderful day of the week and it's also Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. Now that's some pretty amazing information if you ask me.  This week we are sharing back to school gifts for teachers. Here in northeast Pennsylvania most schools are heading back sometime this coming week or the following week. (I'm so glad our district is not starting until the 31st, just not mentally ready yet) There's time to make a quick gift or two for your favorite teacher.

I made a set of notecards that will be perfect to give for any occasion, a thank you, thinking of you, you're doing a great job or whatever other reason a teacher may want to drop of line to a student or parent. And besides, with this adorable set of cards using some lined paper (teachers love stationery products) these will be the first cards your teacher will want to use.

Making a set of these cards isn't very difficult at all. Three stamps (paper, star and greeting), three ink pads, some cardstock, a little heart punch, some scissors and a few little sequins taken off the strand make this a fun, yet simple card to recreate in multiples.

Has Pinterest Ever Inspired You?

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Friday to you. It's such a gorgeous day here in NEPA, the sun is shining and the temperature is beautiful. I know you didn't come here for a weather update so I will move on from my meteorological duties and get to what you came for: stamping inspiration.  Inspiration for stamped projects is all around us even when we don't realize it. Pinterest has made it even easier to be inspired in our paper crafting needs and this week at Sisters in Stamping we are doing just that, showing you how easy it easy to head over to Pinterest and find something to get your creative juices flowing.

Above is my card that I made using a card from Pinterest as my inspiration. When I received my big box of goodies from Mr. Brown when the new catalog went live, I was searching on pinterest for the stamp sets I got to see what peaked my interest and got my creativity going so I wanted to get using them right away. I searched the set No Bones About It because I think the dinosaur set is awesome and will be great for boy cards, plus the new Jurassic movie had just come out. So as you can see, I didn't use the set on my card but it really got me excited to make this card using the Bountiful Border set. (Listen, don't question how my brain worked this one out. I have no answers either. LOL)

As you can tell after seeing the card below, I did a few extra things on my card (stamping the white layers and embossing the strips of cardstock) to make it my own. Can you see the inpsiration coming through. I showed a few people my inspiration and they told me they didn't see how I got from one to the other because in the end they looked so different. I really used the layout as my starting point and went from there. Changed the stamps and ink colors and I have a whole new looking card, so for those of you that say you are not creative, I just showed you how to be "creative" without having to do all the work for yourself.

This is a link to the card below that inspired me. Can you see the inspiration there? I also made my strips a bit thinner to have more of the white cardstock showing through.

Want to see how other people see projects on Pinterest and interpret them for their own crafting needs? Then hurry on over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what the others have done. We have 2 guest designers this week so there's even more projects.

And if you are NOT hooked on Pinterest yet, get over there and see how much goodness awaits you. It's not just for stamping and papercrafting. I use it for recipes, home decor ideas and so much more.
