Ready for some Shaker Cards?

This week at Sisters in Stamping we are using the shaker frames (page 38) from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  Shaker cards are so much fun to  make and are an easy way to make your card interactive.  The options of what to put inside your shaker frame are limitless.  If you can think it, you can do it.

For my card, I used the Delicate Doilies Stamp set.  I stamped the doily images using Pool Party and Soft Suede (picked the colors from the Spice cake line in the Holiday Mini).  I stamped the distressed dots background on the base layer of Pool Party cardstock.

Then I stamped the doilies all over the very vanilla cardstock.  I distressed the edges of that cardstock along with the strips of pool party and soft suede that is found running down the left hand side of the card.  I finished that edge off with the delicate Chantilly Crochet Trim, added a little knot of the crochet trim and I was finished.

Want to know what's inside the shaker part of the card?  Okay, I used some mica flakes, champagne glass glitter and the chocolate super fine glitter.  The picture doesn't do it justice but in real life it's so pretty.  I used the largest circle ring in the pack to make my shaker image.  To stamp the words, I punched the very vanilla cardstock using the 1 3/4" circle punch, layed it on top of the pool party cardstock and stamped the words.  Then I placed the shaker frame around the stamped words, filled it with the glitter and flakes, peeled off the paper protector, placed the window sheet on top of it and attached the very vanilla cardstock with dimensionals to the base of the card.
