Ready to Scrap?

Hello Stamping Friends,

Time for another fabulous Friday post at Sisters in Stamping.  I can't believe it's Friday again.  The weeks are just flying by.  I have been busy keeping up with business and the kid's school activities that I just don't know where the time ends up going.  I do hope you are enjoying the regular postings here on the blog. I sure hope to continue to be able to keep up with it.

This week at Sisters in Stamping we are sharing back to school scrapbook pages with all of you. I decided to pull out the MDS (My Digital Studio) for you.  Well, you got me, it wasn't that difficult to pull it out since it's right on my computer.  I even made it easier to complete this page by using the To the Nines Digital Template.  The layout and colors were already done for me. Isn't that just the coolest thing ever?  I do think I will be purchasing more of these awesome little templates for MDS.

However, I did enhance this page with my own journaling, added the journey definition stamp from the by definition brush set and added the numbers 1-0 over the circles that showed 2010 to cover up that year since it is 2012.  Funny thing, looking at the pictures of the boys now on the page makes me giggle. Jonah looks like a giant and Noah looks kind of little (and he's 7 years older than Jonah).  Guess that's what happens when there's 2 hours between school photos. Can't remember how close or far to go. LOL

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more back to school scrapbook ideas. They aren't all digital either.  Remember the cool thing about digital is that you can create it on the computer to your liking and then if you are a tradionalist you can recreate it with paper.  You can try MDS free for 30 days, head over to my website for more information on that.

Don't forget there are only 2 days left of the Spooktacular Howl-o-ween special for joining the Stampin' Up family and my team.  Hurry up, head over to my website to CLICK JOIN NOW and get $185 worth of products for only $99.

Last Round of Display Samples Begins Today

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today begins the last round of display samples from convention.  This set is called Affection Collection and you can find it in the Holiday catalog.  I must admit when I first got this set, I wasn't very fond of it. It's not something you would find in my collection because it's not really me. However, once I started playing with it, I decided it had a lot of possibilities. Funny how that works out, isn't it? Don't tell me it hasn't happened to you at least once with a set.

This is a really pretty monochromatic card using baja breeze.  It's so soft looking. Hope you enjoy it. Remember from the other sets for convention, there will be 3 more cards, a gift item and a scrapbook page coming in the days ahead, except for Friday. Of course, that Fab Friday with Sisters in Stamping.

Hot Cocoa Time

Hello Stamping Friends,

With the cooler weather it sure feels like it's time for a nice hot mug of cocoa, doesn't it?  Guess it's a good thing that I forgot to add this adorable little treat to one of my downline swap posts because it wouldn't have been as effective if I shared it with you in 80 degree weather.

This treat was created by Lucia B for our demonstrator team meeting.  I know it just looks like a cute card but I promise you it's so much more than that. Keep scrolling to see what it really is.

See! I told you it was great.  It's a hot cocoa holder. Perfect little treat holder for classmates, teachers, friends, neighbors or co-workers. And it really isn't too difficult to make either. You can make quite a few of these pretty easily.

It really is a great little gift to have one hand to give to anyone this coming holiday/winter season.

And now only 4 more days left to get take part of this Spooktacular Offer from Stampin' Up! For only $99 you can get this great bundle to make this Spooktacular frame decor piece and $125 or Stampin' Up! product of your choice.  Head over to my website and click join now.

Lollipop, Anyone?

Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope you are having a great week so far.  I know the weather is a little cooler now but by the end of the week some warm temps are coming back. I know I love the fall but dislike the cooler weather because it usually (okay, always) means that winter is going to sneak around that corner at a moment's notice. And I'm never quite ready for winter.

Today's card share is a card I made for my nephew's 5th birthday. My sister was planning his party for month's. It was a very nice party with an awesome candy theme. The candy bar was full of yummy sweet treats, the kids even made gumball machines from glass bowls and clay pots while at the party. So I decided I needed to go with the candy theme for his birthday card and made a paper lollipop for the main image of his card.

The orchard harvest designer sereis paper to make the lollipop.  The rest of the card colors were determined thanks to the paper. Love, love, love how designer paper makes my life easier. My sister even loved the card because this lollipop wouldn't affect Cayden's teeth. (Funny side note, yes she had a huge candy bar set out that the kids got to fill a bag to take home but each of the kids were also given a toothbrush, only my sister!)

A Pleasant Surprise in the Mail

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today I get to share with you a wonderful surprise that I got in the mail last weekend.  It was a box full of stamping goodies and this card and beverage cup decorated just for me and it was from my demo stamping friend, Debbie, from Virginia.  I am so blessed to have Debbie as a friend.  She is more then just a friend, we often share business ideas and cheer each other on with even the smallest successes. I'm so glad to have met her at convention several years ago. It was an instant friendship that just continues to bloom.

Debbie sent me this card and cup as a congratulations for earning one of Stampin' Up!'s incentive trips this year.  I felt so honored and humbled by her generosity.

Isn't this card beautiful. Debbie also shared an autumn themed card like this on Sisters in Stamping on Friday. Did you check that out?  If not, go ahead, what are you waiting for. There was a sweet note for me inside the card from her, too.

Here's is one side of the cup. It was made just for me, really, it was.  This side has a huge "R" on it and then my name is over it.

This side says Keep Calm and Stamp On. Perfect, isn't it?  And then it is filled with my favorite things, polka dots, all over the rest of it.  And it's in my favorite colors, pink, green and purple.  Thanks, Debbie, I love it!!!!!!!!

Great Birthday Packaging

Hello Stamping Friends,

I'm back today sharing with you another awesome creation by one of my downline members, Maria P.  She shared this adorable birthday box with us at my team meeting this week. Who wouldn't just ooh and aah over this great package. Forget the contents inside, the outside is really going to wow the recipient.

She used one of our kraft boxes to begin with and then used the polka dot parade designer series paper to cover the sides and top of the box while using the coordinating color cardstock underneath the DSP. The finishing touch of dotted ribbon and a pearl.

And a view of the top.  She used the perfect polka dot folder to emboss the cardstock on the top. Love how the punches coordinate together to make the perfect focal point. I mean really, isn't is just adorable?  Maria, thanks for sharing this beautiful creation with us.

Autumn is in the Air

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's that time of the week again, Fabulous Friday. I simply can not believe how fast time goes by any more. You know it's bad when the boys (age 15 and 8) say that time is going by fast. I remember as a kid that time seemed to stand still. Summers lasted forever for me but my boys have said that this summer went so fast. Yikes! We need to learn how to slow down a bit.

Anyway, this week at Sisters in Stamping, we are focusing on Autumn ideas.  Before we know it the leaves here will be changing colors and falling off the trees and pumpkins and mums will be decorating porches.  I do love the fall season because of all the fun of decorating in the fall colors but I dislike it because I know the LOOOONNNNNGGGGG winter will soon be upon us.

I love, love, love how this card turned out.  I hope you like it too.  It has such a natural, woodsy feeling, doesn't it? I used many great products from the Holiday catalog on this card.

Here's a close-up of the leaves and acorn.  The leaves are die cut and then wrinkled. I then did direct to paper using the versamark pad. The ink sticks to some of the wrinkled parts of the leaves making them look even more realistic.  Then the acorn was cut in three different papers and paper pieced together to make it look more dimensional and realistic.

Stampin Supplies:
Stamps: None
Ink: Versamark Ink
Paper: Early Espresso, Sahara Sand, Garden Green, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, & Riding Hood Red Cardstock & Champagne Glimmer Paper
Accessories: 7/8" Cotton Natural Ribbon, Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder, Autumn Accents Bigz Die, Gold Stampin' Dazzle Maker (outlined the acorn) Dimensionals, & Snail Adhesive

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more Autumn ideas.
