Hello Stamping Friends,

Back for more ideas, right?  Well, I have another Flock Together sample for you. And can you believe that I didn't even use the big shot once on this card?  Looking at it, I'm amazed too.  This is sample #4 for this set so that means I have 2 more to show you but you will need to wait until Saturday and Sunday for that. Remember tomorrow is Fabulous Friday with Sisters in Stamping. So I'm going to take a break from the convention samples to share with you some ideas using sets from the Holiday catalog.

I think it's really neat how the main image almost looks like it was just enlarged from the background paper that is full of birds in cages.  I stamped the bird cage on whisper white then stamped the birds in the cage.  I used a Stampin' Write marker, chocolate chip to add the "stick" that the birds are sitting on and to add an eye to each of the birds.

I then finished the card off with some twine for a hanger and a twine bow and then some ruffled ribbon on the bottom of the card.  Just what was needed in my opinion anyway.

A Partridge Family kind of card

Today is day 3 of the Birds of a Feather Product suite convention display samples. (Wow, that was a mouthful)  Hope you are enjoying because there's 3 more projects from this suite and then there's 12 more samples using 2 other sets that I used for convention display samples. 

I love this stamp, a mommy bird and her two baby birds following her along.  Anyone who is a Mom can appreciate this I'm sure. Our kids follow us along as we try to teach them right from wrong and guide them so they are ready to fly from our nest when they are old enough.

Of course, there's some (well, maybe lots) of big shot use on this card. There's 2 embossing folders and 3 different framelits used.  Guess that really is a lot for one little card. Oh well, that's how I love it.

Notice it's also not the typical card size. It is a 3x6 card. Thought it would be fun to create something a little different. I also thought it was neat to put all of my elements to the right of the card. Yes, I was feeling a little wild and crazy, lol.  I also really like the softness the colors of this card gives.

Love Birds...Forever Together

Here we are for Day 2 of the convention parads samples featuring the Birds of a Feather product suite. Today I'm sharing the scrapbook page I made. I used a few different patterns of the Birds of a Feather designer paper on this page.

It's a page of the "bird" I "flock" together with for the past 20 years.  In case you are sitting there saying, "What the heck is she talking about?" let me explain in clearer terms, it's a page of my husband and I.  It's taken at the beach, our most absolute place to be.  So relaxing, no problem and the rest of the world doesn't matter. We love heading out for the day at the last minute. All of our beach stuff is ready to go on a whim. Hanging on the beach during the day is great but going back to the beach at night after dinner is totally awesome.

I used two different patterns of the dsp on this page. I even cut the two little birds and attached them to the "wire".  Both birds are cut from that same paper that has the "wire" on it. I attached them with some dimensionals.

I wanted to show you the close up of the picture.  I stamped the saying on the picture. Fun idea, don't you think?  You just need to set it aside for a bit to be sure that it's completely dry. If not, you know what happens.  Yep, it smears!

I typed my journaling on the computer, printed it off and then cut it out with some framelits and the big shot. (See that, I even used the big shot here. I just can't get enough of it)

Birds of a Feather

Hello Stamping Friends,

I'm back with more convention display samples. The next set that I worked on was Flock Together from the Birds of a Feather product suite.  When I saw the catalog I needed to have this set, so when I found out I needed to make samples using it for convention I was thrilled.  I don't even know why I loved it but that doesn't even matter, does it?

Again, I made 6 samples, 4 cards, a scrapbook page and a 3-D item using this set, so you will get to see all of them. This card was pretty easy to make and I'm thrilled with how it turned out.

Of course, I used the big shot on it. You know it's really difficult for me to create without using it, right?  Besides, if I have a great tool, I should use it. That's my story and I'm going to stick to it. : )

Here's a close-up of the main image. I used the designer frames folder to make the little chicks stand out even more. Friends - there for us when we need them. Just like these two chicks are together and there for each other.

Treasured Gift

Hello Stampin Friends,

Today I'm taking a break from sharing the convention display samples to share with you a special gift I made for my daughter, Brittney and son-in-law, Vinny for their one year anniversary.  Can't believe it's been a year since their wedding. Seriously, where does the time go???????

Anyway, here's the gift. I made them a set of tile coasters using four pictures from their wedding day.  They are so easy to make and look so great when they are finished.

Here they are all tied together with some pretty white organdy ribbon.

Here's one of them by alone. Isn't it a precious picture? So delicate and it captures the moment perfetly.  We were privileged to have Don's brother and wife take these awesome pictures. Check out Oaktree Photography, they do great pictures. Yes, this is a shameless plug for them. They do all kinds of photos, not just wedding. I always have such a difficult time choosing pictures then they take them. Brittney's senior pictures were so hard to pick. So I just had to do a little bit of everything. Here's all four of the tiles side by side. I picked 2 color pictures and 2 black and white.

And here's what the back of the tiles look like. So you want to know how I made them?  Well here it is.

1. Buy plain white ceramic tiles (really cheap, about 16 cents a piece), 4"x4" size

2. Squeeze some crystal effects on the tile and spread it thin using a foam brush

3. Place picture (cut to a 4" square) on top of tile and smooth it out

4. Cover entire tile with crystal effects. Don't use a brush because you will have brush lines. This will be a thick layer that will take quite a while to dry. Be sure to cover the edges of the photo so they are sealed.

5. After tiles are dry (let dry over night), attach cork or felt to the bottom of the tile to finish them off.

By the way, the happy couple loved their new gift and I'm sure they will treasure them forever. They are a great gift that can be enjoyed for years to come.

Never too many Birthday cards

Hello Stamping friends,

Today I am finishing the parade of display samples cards using the You're Amazing stamp set.  This is the last card/project that I made for the convention display boards with this set.  It is a pretty simple card that can be used for any birthday you have coming up.  I love the colors and texture on this card.

This card isn't full of frills but it is really nice. Or so I think so anyway. Again, change the colors and you have a whole different looking card. I'm telling you, I am really loving the simple looking cards lately.  Although I can promise you, I also love the cards full of details. Guess, I'm not picky, I love it all.

Isn't it amazing how different all six of these projects turned out. It was challenging to create them but I enjoyed every minute of it. And I'm extremely please with how they all turned out. Remember I have 18 more display samples to share with you so I hope you are ready and stay tuned to see all of them.

Amazing Masculine Friday

Welcome to another Fabulous Friday at Sisters in Stamping. This week we are focusing on masculine cards. I know we can all use more ideas for cards for the men in our lives. Funny how I have a husband and two sons and I struggle all the time with making masculine cards that I even like. The girly cards are so easy to make, why do the masculine have to be so difficult????

This is another card from the Convention display sample parade. I know I promised to share more with you and I misseda few days but I'm back and ready to share more. Hope you are ready too.

This card uses the You're Amazing set. I still have another project using this set to share with you. Come back tomorrow for that one.  Lots of big shot use for this card. It's a simple card to make though.  Change out the greeting and you have a card ready for a birthday or any other event you need it for.
