A quick card to begin the Holiday Season

Hello Stamping friends,

Today we are taking a break over at Sisters in Stamping due to the hustle and bustle of the Holiday season beginning.  I thought I would post a quick card to start off the holiday season for all of us.

This is a card that I made for my downline meeting swap for November.  It was a pretty quick and simple card to put together.

I used the Deck the Halls Designers Series Paper and coordinating fabric from the Holiday Mini Catalog. The fabric was torn to give it some rough edges and attached with a mini glue dot. The wreath comes from the Welcome Christmas stamp set.  I finished the card off with some vanilla Smooch Spritz.  (Just love saying "smooch spritz" lol)

Hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving with your loved ones. And if you headed out for some great deals with some Black Friday shopping, hope you got all that you wanted without too much trouble.  Be sure to check back for more Holiday ideas from now through Christmas.

Gettin' ready for Christmas, one ornament at a time

I'm so excited about today's Fabulous Friday challenge.  I've been looking forward to it for some time.  Those of you that know me, know I love ornaments.  So much so that I have had an ornament exchange for years now.  So when it was decided that ornaments were the thing for Sisters in Stamping this week, I was pumped.

Here's a close-up view of the full ornament.  I attached some designer series paper to Stampin' Up!'s chipboard using the Tombo mono multi adhesive (aka green glue).  I then used the snowflake die and the Big Shot to cut it out.  Once it was cut out I covered it with Crystal Effects and sprinkled some dazzling diamonds on it.

Here's a full shot of it hanging on an easel.  I used the retired silver elastic cording as the hanger for this ornament.  Next picture is a close up of the middle of the snowflake.

I used the cardinal from the Holiday Jingo Bits set.  It is stamped, cut out and attached with a dimensional. It is attached to a 1 3/8" circle  that is backed with a piece of an adhesive sheet.  I also used the silver waffle paper and that is attached to the back of the circle punch.  The silver glass glitter "needed" to be added to the outside of the circle.  The finishing touch is a very vanilla bow made with a fork.  Perfect bow every time.

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping site for more ornament ideas.

Off to get ready for the Christmas card crop tonight.  If you attend this event, you will get to make one of these ornaments.  Contact me if you are interested.

Have a fabulous day!

Time to add some Decor

Glad to be sharing with you some great ideas using the decor elements. This week at Sisters in Stamping we are focusing on using the decor elements.  This is one line of product Stampin' Up! offers that isn't stamps, ink and paper, so even "non-crafty" people will want to get their hands on some of these.

There are decor elements for everything.  You living room, kitchen, laundry room, bedrooms, and kids bedrooms. There are some that are great for classrooms or playrooms.  We even have chalkboard decor elements and yes you can write on them with chalk, wipe it off and write something new.

I recently held a party that focused just on Decor Elements and people were amazed at how fast and easy they are completely on the wall or anything else you need to "spruce" up a bit.  If you are interested in hosting a Decor Elements Party I would love to chat with you on doing one.  Everyone at the party will also get a chance to work with the decor elements so they can see just how amazing these pieces of vinyl are.

Today I am going to share with you some quick, cute, and simple Christmas gift ideas.  I will share more photos with you in the coming days for other ideas with the decor elements.  But for now we are on Christmas.  I found these glass containers at the local dollar store.  I simply added the Christmas decor elements found in the Holiday Mini Catalog to the front of them.  I used both the real red and old olive pieces for these two shown.  The ornamanets come in a strip of 6 but I just cut it in half and used three (kind of a two for one deal ther)

I then used a piece of 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon.  Olive with the red ornaments and red with the olive ornaments.  These really come together very quickly and are pretty inexpensive gifts to give to your neighbors, co-workers or just about anyone.

Here is the individual pictures of each one so you can see them a little better.  I filled them with red and white striped peppermints to make it the perfect little candy dish.  They would also be good to use on a desk for pens and pencils, or even a little vase (for some short stemmed flowers, of course).

Remember to head over to Sisters in Stamping to see some more Decor Element ideas.  Remember if you need a quick decorating idea then Decor Elements are your answer.

Fabulous Friday Decor

Time for another Fabulous Friday challenge at Sisters in Stamping.  This week we needed to use the Decor Blocks found in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog and the Definitely Decorative Decor Catalog.

I decided to make a "Snow Tower" for my project.  I used the Candy Cane Christmas Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog to cover my blocks.  I used the Tombo Multi Purpose Adhesive (AKA the green glue) to attach the paper to the block.  I also used sticky strip to attach each block to the one underneath it.

I used the Serif Alphabet to cut out the letters and the snowflake embossing folder to emboss each of the letters.  I then took the 2 way glue pen to the raised images to attach some dazzling diamonds glitter to each letter.

I used the Northern Frost decorative strip for each of the snowflakes.  Before I cut them out I put a strip of white cardstock on the adhesive sheets (found in the Holiday Mini Catalog) so that I can easily cover the entire snowflake with dazzling diamonds glitter to add a lot of sparkle to the finished result.  I also attached a rhinestone in the center of each of the snowflakes.

I also used the circles # 2 die to cut the brushed silver cardstock to put behind each letter.  The circles are attached to each block using dimensionals (you know I was going to use them somewhere, right? lol)

I finished the "tower" off by tying the entire thing in marina mist 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more decor blocks ideas.

Thanks for stopping by again. There will be some Christmas card ideas posted tomorrow and Sunday so come back for more Holiday ideas.

A very Special Thank you

I just realized that I forgot to share with you a very special thank you card I received from the Stampin' Up! staff at the Baltimore Regional I presented at.  I was so excited in showing you what I created that I forgot I received this card.  Better late than never.

It is a 3x6 card.  It's definitely a duplicatable card that would be quick and easy to make several of them in one sitting.  Of course, this card will be saved for years to come.  Thank you again Stampin' Up! for allowing me the opportunity to do the Workshop Wow.  I had a blast.

You know it's only been one month since the regional event but it seems much longer.  However, the memories will be alive and strong for a very long time for me.  It was a great event that I got to share with several of my downline members and other Stampin' Up! demonstrator friends.  Definitely looking forward to the next event in January.  Our annual leadership conference will be held in Nashville.  I'm just hoping that my brother will be back from Afghanistan by then so I can see him too (he and his family don't live too far from Nashville).

Hope you have a great Monday. Come back soon.
