Hope Is Always a Good Thing

Hello Stamping Friends,

Hot air balloons are so fascinating. They are big, full of color, and gently lift into the sky and glide. Everyone gets a little excited when you see one gliding through the bright blue sky. It is definitely on my bucket list to one day take a hot air balloon ride. My sister in law, Danielle, and I want to do it together. We will, too!

Today's card is honestly a quick and easy card to make. Of course, I love the black and white theme with a pop of pink. I know not all of you love pink but I do. Sorry!

When you first look at the Always an Adventure set you certainly think camping. Tents, trees, trail signs, pond and a bear. But it always fun to look outside the box and see what else you can do with the stamps in any set. I think this card successfully takes you away from the "camping" thought. You probably wouldn't have guessed that the stamps used were from a camping themed stamp set, would you?

Being that you only use two ink colors, one color of cardstock and one piece of designer paper, you can re-create this in a jiffy. I love cards that meet that criteria. Don't you?

Love the saying on this card too. Hope like crazy! We all need to hope like crazy at different times in our lives.

Time for an Old Fashioned Christmas

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's the weekend. Woohoo. Any grand plans for the weekend for you? I have a workshop tomorrow, which I can't wait to see those ladies. I also laugh a lot when I'm with them. And then we will finish Saturday off the usual way, down at Riverfront Sports Complex watching Jonah play some soccer. Sunday seems to be a FREE day. I'm not sure I'm going to know what to do.

Today with the Sisters in Stamping, we are sharing with you some old fashioned Christmas cards. This card was made using the Outdoor Adventure stamp set. Who would have thought you can make a Christmas card using that set? 

This card uses minimal supplies and has minimal stamping. Perfect for when you need to make a lot of cards with minimal efforts. It's a simple little card that takes you back to simpler times in life. I think it's still a beautiful card and has a lot of character.

My Groups Are Always An Adventure

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today's card was a card that one of my monthly groups asked for. They wanted me to use the Always An Adventure stamp set to make a double z-fold card. I'm always up for a challenge (or should I say adventure?) so I was happy to oblige.  The card turned out great (in my obviously not so humble opinion). It is a lot of work but none of it is difficult, you just need time and patience (for all the big shot cutting) to get this job done.

So, when I arrived for their get together, I showed them what we were making right away and also gently reminded (maybe I even just came right out and said it) that they wanted me to make this card so they couldn't complain when it came time for them to make it. I like to give fair warning.

The above picture is the card folded closed. Even closed you can see how much detail goes into making this fun card.

This shot is the card opened, looking from the front. See even more detail. Really it's not bad to stamp or put together. Not bad cutting out either since the Big Shot does the work for you but it is a bit time consuming. Got some extra time (or just do it when you are sitting watching some TV) then it's not bad at all. I have to say it really turned out exactly what I was picturing in my head before I got started.
