Hello Stamping Friends,
I love this week's theme with the Sisters in Stamping: shaped cards. Not your usual rectangle or square card. These are fun-shaped instead of fun-sized. They are also a lot of fun to make. Use your imagination because you can make a card from any shape: hat, shovel & pail, heart, flower, fire hydrant, flower pot, dress, sunglasses, or whatever else you may come up with. The ideas this week are fantastic so make sure you check out the Sisters in Stamping blog.
I made a pregnant woman mannequin card. It's so cute. Any expectant mommy would get a kick (pun intended) from receiving this card. It's honestly pretty easy to make. Get your pattern and trace it backwards on cardstock and designer series paper and then cut it out.
Imagine the possibilities with changing out the colors and the designer series paper. Your possibilities are endless. The little pearls are a perfect accent for jewelry (necklace and bracelet). The piece of ribbon really pulls the whole card together and makes a big difference in the finished look. I know many mommies-to-be don't wear shirts with bows on them today, but still, it's just adorable.
Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more shaped card ideas. Try your hand at a different shape and share it with me. You can email me your finished card. I will send a prize one person that is picked at random.
