Let's Shake A Little

Hello Stamping Friends,

So glad you are able to stop by today and take in a little stamping inspiration. Remember, it is Friday and that means a great post over at Sisters in Stamping. This week we are using a water theme. So be sure to head over to see what the other sister were inspired to create using our theme.

I created a fun little card using the awesome jar set. It is such a fun, versatile set that you should definitely add to your collection if you don't already have it. Honestly, you can do so much with it.  This particular card is a shaker card. There is some sand and a seashell inside the jar that moves around when you shake the card. Shaker cards are so much fun to make.

I embossed the background strips with the wave folder and then took the ink pad right to the paper and "scraped" it along the raised waves to give them some more depth. Two of the goldfish are die cut and attached with dimensionals to add more dimension and interest to the card.

Cherries Jubilee, Get Ready To Bake

Hello Stamping Friends,

You know every day has something special to celebrate. There's actually calendar dedicated to something special everyday. Well, today is no different, it's National Cherries Jubilee Day. So that is where the inspiration for today's theme over at Sisters in Stamping came from. We used this day to guide us in making our projects. Cherries and Cherry Cobbler cardstock were our starting points.

I must admit. Looking at this picture makes me want some Cherries Jubilee. Why do food pictures do that, but nice clean house pictures don't make me want to get up and clean the house top to bottom? Hmmm. Oh well, not going to waste time on that one. LOL Just going to move right along and share the cherry inspired card with you.

When I saw this stamp set, Yummy Little Christmas, in the Holiday Catalog I just had to have it. I had no idea what I would ever make with it, but that didn't matter. I wanted it because I loved the mixer and bowl. Come on, don't tell me you never bought a stamp set for that reason. I know we all have.

I really love that mixer and bowl. And I love how this card turned out. It's a great card to go with today's Cherry Jubilee day. Cherry Cobbler cardstock combined with the mixer to get it ready in cherry cobbler. Perfect! (well, I think so anyway)

The color combination came right from the designer paper, This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper is great because it's a little thinner so it doesn't add a lot of bulk to your card. Plus, it comes with double the sheets that regular packs of designer paper comes with. Yep, 24 sheets for your Christmas crafting.

Get It Before It's Gone

Hello Stamping Friends,

Just wanted to let you know that this great bundle is still available. There are so many great things you can do with this set. It's NOT JUSTto make a hydrangea or a tree. It can make a pumpkin, a hedgehog, and so much more. You will be sure to want to get this bundle before it is gone. Check out the picture below to see everything that is in the set and the thinlits. What out of the box idea can you come up with?

This card uses a window sheet to see the inside of the card. I used the Project Life card framelits to cut out the center of the card. The window sheet is attached to the inside front of the card. I stamped and then die cut the top of the flower on Wisteria Wonder and Soft Sky cardstock. Both were stamped with the Wisteria Wonder ink. The wisteria wonder flower is laying flat on the front of the card, the soft sky flower is attached using pieces of dimensionals (can't use a full one it will show). Notice the print on the top and bottom opposing corners? That is just the flower stamped on the corner to give some more detail and dimension.

I also used the little stamp that is a "tree layer of leaves" in Wild Wasabi on the bottom left corner of the white layer inside the card to dress up the inside and make it more interesting.

Better Late Than Never

Hello Stamping Friends,

Ready to get this week started? Why are Monday mornings so difficult? We all can't wait for Friday to come to start the weekend activities but with that comes the fact that Monday morning isn't too far behind. Hmmm, these days of the week should be rethought. LOL

Today, I'm sharing with you an invitation I made for my grandson's birthday. Yes, he turned one in May. Yes, we had the party back in May. No, I didn't share it with you back then, so I decided it's better late than never.  My daughter didn't want anything too much because she said at his age he isn't into many things, except Mickey maybe. So she said just make an invite with balloons. This is the card I came up with using the colors she picked for the theme of the party.

She was very happy with the finished invite and they matched the party perfectly. The weren't even too bad to make. There is minimal stamping, a couple of runs through the big shot and some punching out of the balloons. They came together quickly and I know she received many compliments on the invite. So although it has been a few months since the party, I hope you have been inspired by the card and can use the idea for yourself.
