Red, White & Blue

This week at Sisters in Stamping we were to create something red, white, and blue.  How appropriate, right?  Well at my New Catalog Release Party tomorrow, we are also doing patriotic theme and decided to make a tiered cake.  Everyone in attendance will get to take a piece of cake. It's low-fat, low-calorie, and high fiber. Ya know, high fiber because it's made with paper.

The build a wheel star wheel was used as "filling" for this cake. Pacific Point ink was used. The stars are punched out of pacific point and cherry cobbler cardstock.  The "cake" is displayed on a cake plate so it is easy to move if you need to. I finished it off with some crinkled paper and of course some festive "sparklers" at the top.

You can easily change the color of the cardstock and how you embellish this cake to create a birthday, wedding, anniversary or whatever special occasion you have coming up.  If you'd like you don't even have to make it a tiered cake. You can use each layer by itself to create a single layer cake.

Don't forget to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog to see the creations of the other sisters.  Next week we will be using our favorite new accessory from the new catalog.
