Halloween Ideas from Demos

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today I bring you some swaps from my demonstrator downline meeting (the Yurinkin' Stamp Addicts) that was held this week.  Want to know what it's like, you are welcome to come to one demonstrator meeting as my guest, after that you will need to be a demonstrator. I'd love for you to come and check it out so contact me for information on our next meeting.

The above treat bag was made by MaryLee M.  She used the Cottage Window stamp set. It includes both the cute little spider and the adorable pumpkins.

This spooky little treat (not spooky just adorable, if you ask me) was made by Maria M. She embossed a little orange treat bag with the spider folder and stamped on a tage from the Ghoulish Googlies kit. The kit also comes with the googly eyese, twine, and 10 glassine bags.

And this card was made by Patti H.  She also used the Cottage Window set for her card.  Look at that fall scene, just so pretty.  I could imagine being in a cute little cottage with a window like this looking out and enjoying the view.

Thanks for letting me share my teams creations with you.

Angry Birds

Hello stamping friends,

I sure hope you are enjoying this new schedule of stamping blog posts.  I am enjoying doing them and really hope to continue bringing you them on a regular (almost daily) basis.

This card was made for my daughter's sister in law. She was having an angry bird themed birthday party for her son's 7th birthday party and asked if I could make invitations that would work with her theme.  Of course, I could, I just had to search some punch art to see how to do it.  This is the invite I came up with. She loved it. What do you think?

I made 20 of these guys for her. I typed in Word all the information and printed it off so no one had to write out the information.  I used a stamping sponge to make the background look like the sky.  Couldn't just have the bird on plain white cardstock. Also, the bottom piece is snipped all across the top edge to make "grass"  Honestly, I don't get the whole angry bird thing (never played the game) but I know it is very popular with kids and adults.

Here is a top view of the card so you can see the unique fold. It is a z-fold card, you can't really see that on the first picture.  I must say I was pretty happy with this finished card. I was even happier that Fernanda loved them and was excited to get them out to her guests.

A look behind the scenes....

Remember this card? I posted it awhile back. Check it out here. It was one of my swap cards for convention.  I believe I made over 80 of these cuties.  Well, that is a lot of work, I won't pretend it isn't but when you have an assisant like me, it makes it much easier. So today, I'm sharing with you the behind the scenes view of what it takes to get it all done.

So the first picture below is everything cut and ready to go. There's the sample too.  I make the sample first to decide if it's what I really want it to be.

And then a picture of my assistant hard at work.  Isn't he the cutest little assistant you have ever seen?  Jonah is my helper with so many things. Just this weekend he painted my nails (okay, not the best manicure I've ever had but I couldn't tell him no).

His important job for this card was the big shot. He ran each piece through the big shot. He was definitely glad when he was finished.

Thanks for letting me share how I get ready for convention with you. I have the best assistant in the world.  I know my days of him wanting to help me out with my stamping are numbered but I'm sure going to enjoy them while they last.

Fun Swing Card

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today I'm sharing with you a fun swing card.  These are a lot of fun to make and the recipient loves playing with the card.  You need some great Stampin' Up! framelits to make these work.  I used the labels framelits on this card. See below for some quick instructions.

The first picture is the card folded. It is the perfect size, it's exactly the size of the regular cards we make and fits inside one of the standard Stampin' Up! medium envelopes.

This second picture is the card open so you can see the backside of the swing part. Great spot to put your greeting and sign the card.

Just another view of the front with the left side pulled out a bit so you can see it from a different angle.

You can easily change out the design of the framelit and do this with any of the other awesome Stampin' Up! framelits and give your card a whole new look.

Steps to Make card:
1.Cut your base cardstock 7 1/2" x 4 1/4"
2. Score base at2 3/4" and 3 3/4"
3. Center framelit on the 2 3/4" score line
3. Line your clear plate up with the 2 3/4" score line. (You will not be cover the whole framelit, if you do you will cut out the entire shape and that's not what you want)
4. Run it through your big shot with only part of your framelit covered (up to the 2 3/4" score line)
5.Move your clear plate to cover from the 3 3/4" score line and over. The first part half of the framelit will not be covered with the clear plate)
6. Run through big shot.
7. Take off the framelit and you should have the two ends cut and the middle stillintact with the base.
8. Fold on score line to make a z fold type card
9. Stamp and embellish how you'd like

Stamping Supplies:

God Bless You

Hope you are having a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. We are enjoying our weekend. Yesterday Jonah had his first soccer game. He is loving it. Today is a kind of relaxing day, tonight my husband is going to his fantasy football draft, a tradition for years now and the boys and I will probably head down to the Italian Festival in Scranton (our tradition while Dad is at the draft).

Right now, we are trusting in God. My husband's job has been a little unstable and we don't know what's going to happen. It's frustrating (mostly because us humans like to have control) but we are fully relying on God to lead us in the right direction and know that he will take care us, so I thought this card that says, God Bless You (I know it's hard to see the greeting because my watermark is covering it) was a perfect card to share today.

This is the last card using the Daydream Medallion set convention display samples. It's kind of a simple card but I love the colors, pool party and wisteria wonder.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: Daydream Medallion, Trust God
Ink: Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder
Cardstock: Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, & Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot, Floral Frames Framelits, Perfect Polka Dots folder, In Color Brads, Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

So, what did you think?  Did it make you chuckle?

Tic Tac Medallion

Hello Stamping Friends,

Didn't you just love the Sisters in Stamping post yesterday?  I love all the great ideas shared by the sisters.  I'm so blessed to have meet such great ladies and become friends with them.

Today is another Daydream Medallions card that I made for the display boards at convention. I really hope you are enjoying seeing all these samples. It was so much fun for me to make them and then get to see them on the display boards.

And what was even more awesome was seeing my name on the board acknowledging all the display board stampers. I was so humbled to see some of the other stampers name because I admire much of their work and I was given the opportunity to stamp and have my pieces displayed with theirs.

Yes, I was all the way at the bottom of the board. Guess that's what happens when you marry someone with a last name that begins with the second last letter. lol  I used to always be at the top of the list before I got married. I went from second letter to the second last.

Close up of the name. Just in case you didn't believe me. haha

And finally, today's card on the board with the other stampers samples.  Pretty cool, isn't it?
