Ribbon, Ribbon, Ribbon

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today is Friday!  And you know what that means, Fabulous Friday with Sisters in Stamping.  This week we were challenged to do some unique things with ribbon.  Not just put a bow, strip or knot of ribbon on a project.  Do something different with it.  So here is my project.  A ribbon rosette pin.  It's great to just pin on a jacket or to dress up a favorite bag.

It is actually very easy to make.  You begin with 3 strips of ribbon (8", 10" and 12") Straight stitch along one edge and pull the thread to gather ribbon. When you have pulled it as tight as you'd like you then stich the two edges together. I folded the top layer under to give it a cleaner look. You do that for all three pieces of ribbon.  Then you hot glue the round layers together beginning with your largest layer on the bottom and work up to the smallest layer. Then embellish the top with a button or some other fun embellishment.  Finally, you glue a pin on the back and wear or attach to a bag.

Here's two more views.  Don't know if you noticed but I jazzed up my ribbon a little bit.  Gotta love some extra bling.  I used the multi-purpose liquid glue to put a line along the edge of the ribbon and then topped the glue with some great glass glitter.

It's so sparkly in real life and adds that perfect touch to the overall look of this rosette.
