Are you ready to Sale-a-brate?

Hello Stamping friends,

Happy Friday to you. It's a snowy morning here in Northeast Pennsylvania (which I didn't expect). This week at Sisters in Stamping, we are definitely ready to Sale-a-brate. Hope you are ready to as well. Sale-a-bration is the best time of year at Stampin' Up! and we are in full swing right now.

Everyone wins during Sale-a-bration. Purchase $50 get a free item out of the Sale-a-bration brochure (limited items). Host a party and earn an additional $25 in host benefits when your party reaches $250 in accumulated orders. And the best deal of all, get an additional $30 in product when you join the Stampin' Up! family. That's right for only $99 plus tax you will get $155 in product. Best deal, right?

So today, in honor of Sale-a-bration, we are sharing some projects using the great items you can get for FREE with your $50 purchase now through March 31, 2016.

I used a stamp set, Botanicials for You, and designer series paper, Wildflower Fields, from the Sale-a-bration catalog on this fun folded card. It's very easy to do, use an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock. Fold that in half like you normally would and then fold the front flap back in half. Yep, it's that easy.

Here's the inside of the card, which you can't even see any of the stamping when the card is folded closed. This was really an easy card to make but leaves the recipient impressed. I just love cards that are like that. Easy to make but leaves a lasting impression, that's what we all need.

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more great ideas using other Sale-a-bration freebies.

Scraps, Scraps, Scraps!

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Friday to you. Have any fun and exciting plans for this weekend? Will you be stamping? I'll be stamping, getting my Noah ready to go back to school (I'm not liking that part) and watching lots of soccer this weekend. Jonah has several games and a tournament. Pretty typical weekend here at the Yurkanin house. Whatever you have planned, I hope you truly enjoy your weekend.

This week at Sisters in Stamping we are sharing ways to use up your scraps. Do you have tons of scraps that you save just because? Well, today will give you some ideas on how to use up those scraps to make beautiful treasured projects.

I used scraps of Designers Series Paper to cover a heart for the focal point of this card. Very easy to do. Just cut those scraps into 1/2" strips and start placing them on your heart (or any other shape you may want) in random patterns. Be sure to "butt" them up to each other, you don't want any paper of the heart base showing through. It makes a great quilted/patchwork look.

Here's a close-up, so you can see it a little better. I just added some glitter paper flowers to give it some bling. You know how I love the bling.

Why don't you go and try it out? Please share when you do. I can't wait to see what everyone creates with their scraps.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more ideas on how to put those scraps to good use instead of cluttering your crafting area.

Happy New Year! Do You Wanna Peek?

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy New Year! I hope this year brings you much health, happiness and love. It's always an exciting time of year, new beginnings and getting to start fresh.  The last few months have been a bit hectic here at our home so I'm really excited to start new and fresh for 2016.

You also know that with the new comes a new Occasions catalog, right? It's a great one and it starts on January 5th.  This week with the Sisters in Stamping we are sharing some sneak peeks from the new Occasions catalog. So be sure to check them out.

One of the first sets that I fell in love with is this one shown below, Going Global. We (demonstrators) got to play with it at the recent OnStage Local event in Baltimore. It's so appropriate for Stampin' Up! right now because we are a global company and they are focusing on our global aspect. BUT, I love the set because I have always loved looking at a globe and seeing where different places are and how close or far away we are from them.

There are several things used on this card from the Going Places suite of products from page 39 in the Occasions catalog, designer series paper, embossing folder, and let's not forget the Going Places stamp set. Yes, there is an embossing folder used on this card but it's NOT in the usual way you would be thinking. The World Traveler textured impressions embossing folder is inked up and then the sahara sand cardstock is laid on top of it, so it is "stamped" on the cardstock instead of the raised image the embossing gives you. It's a fun, extra use of your folders. You should try it out.

Below is a list of the items used (I can't post the pictures of the products yet, hence the list only)
